Murine ovarian follicle culture in PEG-hydrogel: Effects of mechanical properties and the hormones FSH and LH on development
The development of an in vitro culture system, comparable to the in vivo environment in terms of effects on oocyte growth and development, could provide a valuable experimental tool for studying the mechanisms governing oocyte development as well as practical clinical, agricultural, zoological, and biotechnological applications. This study reports on the importance of the microenvironment for the ovarian folliculogenesis process. The complexity of such a microenvironment was approached with a strategy based on functionalized PEG-hydrogels. The PEG matrix not only serves as a scaffold, but it is also used a reservoir of immobilized cues. Using tethered integrin-binding peptides in combination with other signaling factors, we aimed at better understanding the interactions of the oocyte and its surrounding granulosa that may determine the efficiency of the actual and the future in vitro mature oocyte production. In a first step, the mechanical properties of PEG-hydrogel were optimized for producing secondary follicles, in which the oocyte is surrounded by two layers of granulosa cells. Follicle growth was highly dependent on the mechanical properties of the surrounding environment, with the optimal elastic modulus being approx. 1 kPa. The effects of key soluble factors were also investigated to confirm their compatibility with the established 3-D culture system and to further qualitatively and quantitatively improve the produced mature oocytes. Accordingly, various combinations of the gonadotropins follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) were tested. Interestingly, the effects of the gonadotropins in the 3-D PEG system were close to their known in vivo effects. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the efficiency and the flexibility of a novel 3-D culture system, PEG-hydrogel. Circumventing problems inherent to the "on-plastic" standard culture, such as the loss of the granulosa-oocyte interactions, allowed the emergence of a culture system tailored for investigating fundamental folliculogenesis-related questions. Furthermore, the reported culture system may serve as a platform for developing clinical and biotechnology applications.LMR
Low resistivity Ru1-xTixO2 thin films deposited by hybrid high-power impulse magnetron sputtering and direct current magnetron sputtering technique
The present paper reports on an experimental investigation of the structural, electrical and optical properties of Ru rich Ru1-xTixO2 thin films. Rutile single-phaseRu(1-x)Ti(x)O(2) thin films have been deposited by reactive hybrid High-power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) and direct current magnetron sputtering (DCMS) at a substrate temperature of 250 degrees C. The HiPIMS source was applied to the Ru target while the DCMS source was connected to the Ti target in order to vary the Ti content in the films. The films are well crystallized and compact with randomly orientated nanocrystallites. The optical properties have been investigated by ellipsometric measurements in the optical energy range from 1.3 eV to 3.3 eV, while the electrical resistivity has been measured in the Van der Paw configuration at room temperature. The electrical resistivity increases gradually from 70 mu Omega cm for pure RuO2 to about 243 mu Omega cm for Ru1-xTixO2 films with x = 0.13. The optical properties are correlated with the Ti doping. The refractive index n changes from a strong dispersion relationship to a moderate one with increasing Ti content.LPM
SISTEM PENDUKUNG KEPUTUSAN PELAYANAN ANTRIAN PEMBUATAN KARANGAN BUNGA MENGGUNAKAN METODE PROFILE MATCHING
Bunga Papan atau Karangan Bunga saat ini telah digunakan masyarakat sebagai tanda adanya kegiatan Pernikahan, Peresmian dan Kematian atau kegiatan-kegiatan lainnya. Seringkali hal tersebut juga dijadikan sebagai suatu media informasi kepada masyarakat umum bahwa acara tersebut mewah adanya Perkembangan dalam dunia bisnis sangat di pengaruhi oleh teknologi juga dalam suatu perusahaan seringkali mempunyai kekurangan atau permasalahan yang harus segera di perbaiki dan jika hal tersebut tidak segera di perbaiki maka akan kalah saing dengan produk dari toko lain atau penurunan daya jual suatu perusahaan. Sama Hal nya di Toko Bunga Erfa. Dalam pembuatannya membutuhkan waktu 30 menit sampai 60 menit tergantung dari variabel karangan bunga seperti ukuran, jumlah nama pengirim dan lainnya. Dan dalam sehari bisa sampai membuat 30 karangan bunga namun sering kali tidak efesien . Maka dari itu membutuhkan sistem pendukung keputusan pelayanan antrian pembuatan karangan bunga. Metode Profile Matching merupakan salah satu metode yang sederhana dalam sistem pendukung keputusan dengan membandingkan gap antara nilai alternatif dan kriteria semakin kecil nilai GAP maka semakin besar pula bobot nilainya. Pada penelitian ini akan membuat sebuah sistem pendukung keputusan pelayanan antrian pembuatan Karangan Bunga menggunakan Metode Profile Matching. Diharapkan dapat membantu efesiensi dalam pembuatan karangan bunga dengan pengambilan keputusan yang akurat dalam menentukan karangan bunga mana yang di kerjakan terlebih dahulu dengan nilai pada masing- masing alternatif
AN ILLOCUTIONARY ACTS ANALYSIS OF JUDGES’ UTTERANCES IN INDONESIA’S NEXT TOP MODEL CYCLE 3
This research is entitled An Illocutionary Acts Analysis of Judges’ Utterances in Indonesia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3. It is aimed to find out the illocutionary Acts types used by the judges and to analyze the functions of judges\u27 utterances towards all contestants. The method employed in the present research is descriptive qualitative research. The object of this research is the utterance of the judges in Cycle 3 during direct photoshoots and comments when judging session. The utterance selected from episode 1 part 1 up to part 8. This research uses the theory of illocutionary acts proposed by Searle (1979). The results show that there are 90 data of illocutionary act types in the judges\u27 utterances. These utterances use five types of illocutionary acts such as assertive 27 data, directive 36 data, expressive 19 data, commissive 6 data, and declarative 2 data. Based on the frequently observed utterances, there is an intended meaning to motivate each model, which becomes evident through the model’s response to the judge’s words. It is possible to conclude that the judges demonstrate various positive actions to help the models become more professional and high-quality performances. For future researchers who will analyze speech acts, especially the judges’ utterances, it would be better if the model’s facial expression were studied, as it could reflect the emotional and social impact of the judges’ utterances
PROTOTYPE SISTEM SMART GREENHOUSE BERBASIS INTERNET OF THINGS
Berdasar pada potensi Indonesia sebagai negara agraris, perekonomian masyrakat Indonesia banyak ditopang bidang pertanian. Greenhouse merupakan salah satu metode pertanian yang cocok digunakan di Indonesia karena kemampuannya dalam memanipulasi cuaca. Permasalahan hadir saat suatu tempat memiliki cuaca yang ekstrem dimana kemarau berkepanjangan atau curah hujan tinggi menerpa. Cuaca tersebut tentu akan memengaruhi kondisi tanaman, mulai dari kekeringan sampai layu karena kelembaban tanah berlebih. Terlebih pertanian indonesia masih banyak yang dilakukan secara tradisional. Dimana petani masih memonitor dan mengontrol pertanian tanpa bantuan teknologi. Terlebih saat cuaca sulit diprediksi terkadang petani sampai gagal penen. Permasalahan lain juga hadir yaitu lahan pertanian mulai tergerus oleh adanya gedung-gedung yang dibangun. Masalah ini membuat lahan pertanian bergeser ke daerah yang jauh dari area pemukiman. Dengan adanya masalah tersebut membuat petani harus pergi cukup jauh dari rumahnya. Sehingga dalam mengontrol dan memonitor memerlukan tenaga lebih. Dengan dirancangnya alat ini akan hadir sebuah solusi dalam proses monitor dan kontrol pada greenhouse dengan sistem berbasis Internet of Things. Alat ini akan memungkinkan petani mengontrol dan memonitor kondisi di greenhouse dari jarak jauh dan secara real-time sehingga suhu udara, kelembaban tanah dan kondisi lainnya pada greenhouse dapat dikontrol dengan bantuan sistem pendingin, sistem pemanas dan sistem penyiraman otomatis yang ada di sistem smart greenhouse. Sistem monitor dan kontrol ini akan ditopang oleh aplikasi Blynk yang bisa diakses melalui smartphone oleh penggunanya dengan cara menyambungkan mikrokontroler pada jaringan internet dengan bantuan modul wi-fi dan juga dengan smartphone yang juga tersambung dengan jaringan internet. Dengan bantuan teknologi ini diharapkan menjadi salah satu solusi bagi pertanian dengan metode greenhouse dapat lebih efektif dan efisien serta memberikan kemudahan pada petani
Influence of the Budget Control System on the Company\u27s Financial Performance
A company certainly has goals to achieve. Various things can help in achieving company goals, one of which is the budget control system. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the budget control system on financial performance. The type of research used is quantitative. The data source used is secondary data obtained through the documentation method. The population in this study were companies in City X. Meanwhile, the sampling technique used in this study is a non-probability sampling technique, more precisely using saturated sampling technique, namely sampling determination technique with all population members used as samples. The sample obtained was 90 companies in City X. The data analysis techniques used are validity test, reliability test, normality test, and t test and determination coefficient test for hypothesis testing. The results obtained that the budget control system has a significant effect on the company\u27s financial performance. The better the financial control system, the better the financial performance
Conceptual Analysis of Learning Organization as a Contemporary Organizational Theory
The concept of organization is developing in the world of private organizations, especially in developed countries, as one of the responses organisations must make in facing changes in an increasingly complex organizational environment. This study aims to determine the conceptual learning organization as a contemporary organizational theory. This study used a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by exploring journals, books and other information relevant to the study. The study results show that the current learning organization model is an alternative organization that can survive in the globalization era, which is identified with a rapidly changing (dynamic) situation. Therefore, the organization must facilitate the learning process for all members and continuously carry out self-transformation
AN APPRAISAL ANALYSIS OF INTERPERSONAL MEANING IN JOKOWI’S SPEECH AT KREMLIN PALACE IN RUSSIA
from the perspective of appraisal theory. Furthermore, this study only concern on the interpersonal meaning from attitude categories, such as affect, judgment, and appreciation. This research used descriptive which collected from Jokowi’s speech at Kremlin Palace on June, 29th 2022. The process of data analysis was supported by Appraisal Framework which a development of Systemic Functional Linguistics by Martin and White (2005). The result of the study show that the speech of Jokowi has high Affect sub-categories which reached 35%. Whereas the judgment and appreciation reached the same amount, 32.5%. From all affect types, the speech showed positive affect which are security and satisfaction, this represents that Jokowi has a positive assessment towards Russia, especially to President Putin. Jokowi also showed his neutral attitude and confident for dealing with this issue in order to ending the war. In short, Appraisal Framework work can be used to investigate the speech in order to appeal the attitude of the speaker or someone through the utterance that speaker conveyed. Appraisal Framework is also developed to make the analysis more specific and organized as it was developed from Systemic Functional Linguistics.
 
ANALYZING ONLINE MEDIA DISPOSITION ON THE DELIBERATION OF THE ALCOHOL PROHIBITION BILL IN INDONESIA
This research is intended to reveal the discourse practice and texts disposition of three different online news media articles toward the deliberation of alcohol prohibition bill in Indonesia. The method employed in the present research is qualitative with critical perspective. The discourse in the form of news analyzed in this study are three selected news about alcohol prohibition bill published by ANTARA News, Hidayatullah.com, and The Bali Sun News in which the Fairclough’s three-dimensional CDA approach were applied. Critical Discourse Analysis by Fairclough is described as having dimensions/structures: text description, text interpretation, and text explanation. In the text description, the analysis focused on how the structure of transitivity and modality theories were realized. At the text interpretation, the analysis focused on how the texts intertextuality were conducted. This first two stages constructed the discourse practice of the texts. Later, in the text explanation stage, the discourse practice shown in the texts were further analyzed in its relation with sociocultural practice to determine the dispositions. The results of this research reveal that (1) ANTARA News represents the government agreed with the implementation of alcohol laws that lead to regulation and control to support the economic policy. (2) Hidayatullah.com represents Islamic community, agreed and has much more weight in the implementation of strict alcohol regulation bill since it was against Islamic beliefs, and has detrimental impacts to people wellbeing. (3) The Bali Sun News article represents Bali tourism community, disagreed with the implementation of alcohol ban bill and threw many dubious opinions. They believe that in tourism community like Bali, this kind of policies would never be approved
A Synthesis of Business Role Models
Modern Information and Communication Technology open a door for innovations that can improve the functioning of companies. Many innovations can come from the analysis of business processes. Today modeling is widely used for the analysis of business processes. In these work we propose a process modeling technique based on role modeling. To specify a process where one business object may play several roles, a synthesis operation (the composition of two base roles in a third role) has to be specified. All role-based techniques have difficulties specifying role synthesis: synthesis is never specified without the description of actual messages passing between business roles. Such implementation details complicate the understanding of the model and semantics of synthesis become implicit. To specify a business process of a complex system at a higher level of abstraction requires the proper understanding of relationships between roles, when they are put together in one common context. In this paper we define the concept of synthesis constraints that shows relations between roles. Using synthesis constraints allows a business modeler to make explicit his decisions about how the synthesis is done in an abstract and implementation independent way. This approach can be used for building a BPR case tool that enables the discovery of new business processes by means of different disassembling and assembling of roles.LAM
