Business cycles fluctuations in three-sector intertemporal equilibrium models
International audienceThis paper introduces a novel mechanism driving endogenous business cycle fluctuations within a frictionless three-sector intertemporal equilibrium model. We emphasize the critical role of consumer preferences as a primary driver of cyclical dynamics by considering a consumption bundle composed of a pure consumption good and a mixed consumption-investment good that simultaneously serves as both a final consumption good and a capital-accumulating investment good. Endogenous fluctuations naturally arise from sectoral capital intensity differences, an intertemporal consumption trade-off between the two goods, or the interaction of both mechanisms. We offer a detailed characterization of the economy's dynamics, identifying the Hopf bifurcation conditions that trigger persistent cyclical behavior. Additionally, we explore the periodicity of the resulting limit cycles, providing insights into how shifts in preferences and sectoral complementarities can generate self-sustained macroeconomic fluctuations
Terahertz time-domain ellipsometry with spintronic emitters: Pauli coefficients as a superior alternative to Jones and Mueller matrices
International audienceWe introduce terahertz complete time-domain spectroscopic ellipsometry (THz-cTDSE), extending traditional ellipsometry by determining full Jones and Mueller matrices for in-depth material characterization. This marks the first application of spintronic terahertz emitters in ellipsometry, achieving pure linear polarization for precise magnetization-based switching. Our complete phase-resolved ellipsometry transforms Jones matrices into an intuitive framework of diattenuations and retardations across all Stokes bases—Pauli exponential coefficients—previously unattainable with incomplete ellipsometry. A novel calibration technique ensures accurate Jones matrix reconstruction without requiring precise alignment of polarizing components, approaching the precision typical of visible-range ellipsometry. We demonstrate THz-cTDSE on quartz and Hg2Cl2 crystals, advancing the analysis of anisotropic materials
Terahertz Frequency Comb High-Resolution Heterodyne Spectrometer
International audienceWe demonstrate the advantages of THz frequency combs for high-resolution spectroscopy. This benefits from wide spectral coverage and the exact knowledge of the frequency position of each comb component. Heterodyne detection combined with a fast Fourier spectrometer enables rapid and simultaneous measurement of more than 80 frequency comb modes covering a 7.5 GHz bandwidth. A spectrum is obtained in under 20 minutes yielding a uniform resolution of 70 kHz. This new setup has been validated by recording more than 150 lines of methanol around 723 GHz, and represents a new solution to exploit THz frequency combs for high-resolution spectroscopy
Trust-aware and game-theoretic cooperative detection of misbehavior in connected vehicles
International audienceThe rise of self-driving and connected vehicles is reshaping modern transportation, combining advanced communication with intelligent decision-making to revolutionize road safety and traffic flow. However, the open and dynamic nature of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) exposes them to significant security threats, including false data injection and message tampering, which can disrupt trust and cooperation among nodes. In this work, we propose a novel cooperative misbehavior detection mechanism that integrates a Pre-Bayesian Q-learning framework with a majority game model to effectively identify and isolate malicious nodes. Our approach introduces dynamic coalition formation to exclude nodes with low trust values, and incorporates message classification by source to assess the reliability of information from roadside units (RSUs), same-manufacturer vehicles, and different-manufacturer vehicles. Iterative belief updates dynamically adjust trust levels among nodes, while ex-post validation ensures stable and consistent decision-making. Extensive simulations demonstrate that our model achieves high accuracy in distinguishing benign and malicious nodes, even in scenarios with up to 45 % adversarial influence. The results confirm that combining Q-learning with dynamic coalitions and message classification significantly enhances resilience, reliability, and consensus in VANETs under adversarial conditions. This framework provides a scalable and adaptable solution for securing connected autonomous systems and strengthening trust in real-world intelligent transportation networks
Human Vision‐Adapted Semitransparent Organic Solar Cells for Multicolored Architectural Application
International audienceAbstract Semitransparent organic solar cells (ST‐OSCs) offer significant potential for building‐integrated energy harvesting combined with daylight transmission. However, simultaneously achieving high power conversion efficiency (PCE) and perceptually accurate color rendition remains challenging. This work introduces high‐throughput optical design for developing human vision‐adapted ST‐OSCs with spectrally targeted color perception, advancing the realization of polychromatic urban architecture. First, a dual‐additive method is developed to enhance phase separation within the PEDOT:PSS, yielding a PCE of 20.0% in opaque devices. Building upon this, high‐throughput optical design enables the optimization of Fabry–Pérot microcavity structures for precise color generation. The core framework evaluates PCE, infrared rejection rate (IRR), and the novel Visual Match Index (VMI) simultaneously to assess spectral alignment with human visual sensitivity. ST‐OSCs engineered to match the peak sensitivities of short‐, middle‐, and long‐wavelength cone cells are fabricated, achieving VMI of 0.99, 0.93, and 0.90, respectively, while maintaining a PCE > 16% and an IRR > 98%. City‐scale energy modeling incorporating the experimental parameters predicts that deploying these ST‐OSCs as colored facades across Shanghai could deliver substantial power generation while significantly reducing cooling loads. Overall, this work establishes human‐centric, aesthetically tunable ST‐OSCs as multifunctional building elements that harmoniously integrate visual comfort with urban energy sustainability

The increasing penetration of renewable energy sources and the decentralization of power generation are reshaping the roles of transmission and distribution networks in system op-eration and restoration. This thesis explores the contribution of power converters in the distribution network to MV and HV system restoration. A key objective of this work isthe development of a converter control capable of autonomously energizing transformersand grid sections while ensuring current limitation and system stability. The thesis begins with a theoretical foundation on Grid-ForMing control (GFM), including current limitation techniques and stability analysis under large disturbances. It then proposes a virtual power-based method to enhance large disturbance stability of GFM. The proposed solutions are then extended to unbalanced conditions and MV applications, and validated experimental lyacross various fault scenarios. Then, the work addresses direct transformer energization, analyzing inrush current behavior and demonstrating how the developed GFM can miti-gate these effects while maintaining stable operation. Subsequently, the thesis presents adistributed blackstart scenario on a distribution network benchmark.
In Tunisia, there is a long tradition of seafood production and consumption with the development of a large fishery products processing industry. This industry consumes water and generates a considerable amount of co-products and e ffl uents. It has been shown that these by-products and effluents constitute a deposit of biomolecules of interest, in particular proteins, fatty acids, enzymes and biopolymers. These by-products are therefore widely available raw materials and for which many uses are possible both in animal or human food, in cosmetics and medicine, not to mention the craze for products of natural origin and, moreover, of origin. Marine. The thesis falls within this context and aims to design an approach for the treatment and recovery of liquid effluents with the following objectives: (1) the development of functional ingredients from liquid by-products. Special attention will be paid to protein fractions, and (2) the reduction of the pollutant load in effluents generated by seafood processing, through the implementation of an adapted membrane concentration process.
