Sprawozdanie z 1. Ogólnopolskiej Studencko-Doktoranckiej Konferencji Bibliologicznej (Poznań, 3–4.04.2019)
Get PDFThis year’s conference was organised by the Inventory Team of the Cathedral Library in Gniezno, attached to the Institute of History at Adam Mickiewicz University, and by the Poznań branch of the Poznań Society of Friends of Arts. The seventeen conference papers presented in this reporting article cover a variety of the problems and issues raised during the conference, encompassing a number of diverse aspects of old and rare books; this year with a slightly higher proportion of papers on book production and binding techniques and tegumentology. The conference was highly appraised for its scientific aptitude, while much appreciation was given to the overall high level of presentations given by the participants and the sheer number of participants, though none of the them represented an academic centre that was strictly involved in research on the history and science of books as physical objects, representing different research centres in Poland and abroad (Kraków, Lublin, Mińsk, Poznań, Słupsk, Tel Awiw, Toruń and Warszawa). The conference was accompanied by an exhibition presenting the special collections of the library of the PSFA (prepared by Michał Bartoszak and Wojciech Graś) documenting the history of the expansion of the resources of this library in the contexts of the donations made by its most notable donators.Prezentowana konferencja zorganizowana została przez Zespół ds. Inwentaryzacji Biblioteki Katedralnej w Gnieźnie przy Instytucie Historii Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu oraz Poznańskie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk. W artykule sprawozdawczym zreferowano tematykę 17 wystąpień konferencyjnych (z zakresu różnorodnych aspektów książki dawnej; z umiarkowaną przewagą zagadnień tegumentologicznych). W podsumowaniu konferencję oceniono bardzo pozytywnie, doceniono bardzo równy i wysoki poziom wystąpień oraz sporą liczbę ośrodków naukowych (Kraków, Lublin, Mińsk, Poznań, Słupsk, Tel Awiw, Toruń, Warszawa) i prelegentów biorących udział w spotkaniu (choć żaden z referentów nie reprezentował instytutu stricte bibliologicznego). Konferencji towarzyszyła wystawa okolicznościowa prezentująca zbiory specjalne Biblioteki PTPN (oprac. Michał Bartoszak i Wojciech Graś), ukazująca, jak kształtował się zasób tej biblioteki przez pryzmat jej najznamienitszych donatorów.

Get PDFThe role of libraries in society, even though the fundamental guiding principles of librarianship remain as valid as ever, requires a rethinking and revaluation of these roles and their corresponding functions. Though there is no immediate threatof all of these roles being wiped out, still we are all prone to succumb to informationism: a non-discerning, vacuous faith that information has power when disseminated, which emphasises measurement over meaning. As a result, the myths of automation and digital hyperawareness are still to be confronted and overcome. The intermediate role of the library in communication is still as essential as ever, but now offered new services require a provision of adequate conveniences for these services. Thus, more organised order has to be introduced into the library’s overall information offer that additionally has to be verified and validated. This, in turn, requires libraries to be linked in a system. There is no doubt that traditional tasks performed by libraries, such as creation of catalogues (viewed as a highly co-ordinated effort) and further development of library research and public information, remain as valid as before. The electronic offer is only one of a number of the strong links in the transmission of information. Libraries must still support institutional forms of education and spontaneous self-education, whereas automated remote education should be treated with utmost caution by them. Appropriate support given to science and knowledge, beside interlibrary offer of printed resources, triggers a need to create a synergy between repositories and to employ library subject specialists. The final effect of communicationprocesses should provide an opportunity for creative reflection and second thoughts, additionally aided by our emotional self-awareness, facilitated by literature in general and by fiction in particular. This, in turn, makes libraries more responsive to particular tasks and assignments. Prejudices and biases that can have a negative impact on viewing libraries as a place of recreation that enables people to manage their own free time and allows them to unwind and relax should also be rejected: libraries can, and in fact should, serve this purpose as well. The same applies to their involvement, as wide as possible, in direct programs and initiatives that run alongside regular library’s services and aim at giving support and facilitate contact within the academic environment and support local integration.Rola bibliotek w społeczeństwie, pomimo kontynuacji, wymaga nowych przemyśleń. Nie grozi im zanik, ale paninformacjonizm oraz mity automatyzacji i digitalnej hiperświadomości trzeba koniecznie przezwyciężyć. Biblioteczne pośrednictwo w komunikacji jest nadal niezbędne, ale usługi wymagają znacznych udogodnień. Ogólna oferta informacyjna potrzebuje uporządkowania i weryfikacji, a do tego konieczne byłoby powiązanie bibliotek w system. Oczywiście trzeba kontynuować przedsięwzięcia bibliograficzne, tworzyć (w skoordynowaniu) katalogi oraz rozwijać biblioteczne, środowiskowe informacje użytkowe. Oferta elektroniczna to tylko jedno z ogniw informacyjnej transmisji. Biblioteki muszą nadal wspierać instytucjonalne formy edukacji oraz samokształcenie spontaniczne, natomiast odnosząc się ostrożnie do kształcenia zautomatyzowanego. Wsparcie nauki, obok międzybibliotecznej oferty zasobów piśmienniczych, wymaga tworzenia repozytoriów oraz zatrudniania bibliotekarzy dziedzinowych. Finalnym efektem procesów komunikacyjnych powinny być nowe i kreatywne refleksje, wsparte emocjonalnie, czemu sprzyjają zwłaszcza literatura piękna i ogólnie: piśmiennictwo. To zaś wyznacza bibliotekom powinności szczególne. Trzeba też odrzucić uprzedzenia wobec zadań rekreacyjnych, umożliwiających wszak zagospodarowanie czasu wolnego oraz odreagowanie zmęczenia i znużenia: biblioteki mogą i powinny służyć temu także. Jak również możliwie licznie i bogato realizować bezpośrednie programy ponadusługowe, dla wsparcia środowiskowych kontaktów i miejscowych integracji

No full textIn dem vorliegenden Artikel wird die langjährige, grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit der Universitätsbibliothek Poznan, der Bibliothek des Collegium Polonicum Slubice und der Universitätsbibliothek Frankfurt (Oder) an einigen Beispielen erläutert. Im Ergebnis kann festgestellt werden, dass umfassende digitale Services entwickelt und angeboten werden, die von den Benutzern diesseits und jenseits der Oder erfolgreich nachgenutzt werden. Auf dieser Basis werden die drei beteiligten Bibliotheken weiter partnerschaftlich kooperieren und neue Herausforderungen, wie die Einführung eines benutzerfreundlichen Recherchetools für Zeitschrifteninhalte (Discovery-System), entwickeln.W artykule omówiono na kilku przykładach wieloletnią, wykraczającą poza granice (państwowe) współpracę Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej w Poznaniu, Biblioteki Collegium Polonicum w Słubicach i Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej we Frankfurcie nad Odrą. W rezultacie można stwierdzić, że użytkownikom po obu stronach Odry oferuje się stale rozwijany obszerny serwis cyfrowy. Na tej bazie wszystkie trzy biblioteki będą nadal współpracować na zasadach partnerskich i podejmować następne wyzwania, takie jak wprowadzenie przyjaznego dla użytkownika systemu przeszukiwania treści czasopism (Discovery-System)

Get PDFThis paper discusses the binding of a set of letters of St. Hieronimus of Strydon, published in three volumes in the printing office of Jan Froben in Basel in 1524. The original owner of the volume was Jan Korzbok Witkowski (d. 1572), whose supralibros indicating the ownership of a book (and bearing his coat of arms and an inscription) was added to the bottom of the front cover page. The original book binding was done in 1527 in the workshop of Maciej of Przasnysz (also known as the Master of Angels Heads). It is a relatively early example of a copy embellished with architectural elements with the motif of a portico with arched tympanum. The binding is a representative example of the book binding technique that shows the influence of Italian book bindery on this particular craft in Poland in the first half of the sixteenth century.W komunikacie zaprezentowano oprawę zbioru listów św. Hieronima ze Strydonu, wydanych w trzech tomach w 1524 roku w bazylejskiej oficynie Jana Frobena. Pierwotnym posiadaczem woluminu był Jan Korzbok Witkowski (zm. 1572), którego superekslibrisami (herbowym i napisowym) opatrzono jej dolną okładzinę. Oprawę księgi wykonano w 1527 roku w warsztacie Macieja z Przasnysza (Mistrza Główek Anielskich). Jest ona stosunkowo wczesnym przykładem egzemplarza udekorowanego w typie architektonicznym z motywem portalu z tympanonem. Stanowi przy tym reprezentatywny przykład ukazujący wpływ introligatorstwa włoskiego na tę gałąź polskiego rzemiosła w pierwszej połowie XVI wieku
