    The relationship between the angles of the upper, middle, and lower thoracic spine and the lumbar spine angle in the standing streamline position.

    論文(Article)Increased lumbar lordosis in the streamline position is likely to occur due to limitations in the thoracic spine extension. The function of thoracic spines is different among upper, middle, and lower part. The relationship between the thoracic and lumbar spine angles in the streamline position has not been clarified. We aimed to clarify the relationship between the upper, middle, and lower thoracic and lumbar spine angles in the standing streamline position. Eight male university students with swimming experience performed two tasks: static standing and standing streamline position. The spinal angle in the sagittal plane was evaluated by VICON. The difference between the aforementioned angles was used as the amount of change. The results showed a strong negative correlation between the amounts of change in the lumbar spine angle and upper thoracic spine angle (r = −0.75, p = 0.03). These results suggest that upper thoracic spine motion influences the lumbar spine motion.journal articl

    The effect of background music tempo on eating speed and food intake volume within in healthy women

    application/pdfBackground: The effects of the different tempos of background music (BGM) on food intake and eating speed have not been fully studied. Aim: The study aimed to investigate the influence of changing the tempo of BGM during meals on food intake and to explore strategies to support appropriate eating behavior. Methods: Twenty-six healthy young adult women participated in this study. In the experimental phase, each participant ate a meal under three separate conditions: fast (120% speed), moderate (original, 100% speed), and slow (80% speed) BGM. The same music was used for each condition, and appetite before and after eating, the amount of food consumed, and eating speed were recorded. Results: The results showed that food intake (g, mean ±standard error (SE)) was slow: 317.9±22.2, moderate: 400.7±16.0, and fast: 342.9±22.0. Eating speed (g/s, mean ±SE) was slow: 28.1 ±2.8, moderate: 34.2±2.7, and fast: 27.2 ±2.4. The analysis showed that the moderate condition showed greater speed than the fast and slow conditions (slow–fast: p=.008; moderate–slow: p=.012; moderate–fast: p=.004). Moreover, the food intake in the moderate condition was significantly higher than that in the slow and fast conditions (moderate–slow: p < .001; moderate–fast: p < .001), and there was no significant difference between the slow and fast conditions in this regard (p=.077). Conclusion: These results suggest that original tempo BGM led to higher food intake compared to the faster and slower tempo conditions. These findings suggest that listening to music at an original tempo during meals may support appropriate eating behavior.journal articl

    Analysis of group dynamics during a cycling competition points race

    application/pdf本研究は,自転車競技のポイントレースにおける集団動態を明らかにすることを目的に,全日本選手権ポイントレースを対象とし,競技中の個人間距離と集団間距離を分析した.競技場の観客席にビデオカメラを設置して,半周ごとの全選手の通過時刻を計測し,半周ごとの全選手の平均速度および選手間の距離を換算した.また,ドラフティング効果に基づいて集団を定義し,集団の推移を分析した.その結果,直前の選手との距離間隔は,競技中の 90% 以上で 3m 以下であり,ほとんどの時間で空気抵抗が低減されるドラフティングの範囲内に位置することが分かった.また,集団の推移には,集団が一つのまま推移する場合,スプリント前に集団が分離する場合,逃げが形成されそのまま逃げ切る場合,逃げが吸収される場合があった.さらに,逃げが形成された場合において,先頭と主集団の先頭との距離は,逃げ切りが成功するか,あるいは,主集団が逃げ集団を吸収して再結合するかを決定づける距離と考えられた.選手やコーチは,逃げ切れるまたは逃げを吸収することができる距離を把握し,競技中の逃げと主集団間の距離を調整することが重要であることが示唆された.This study aimed to examine the group dynamics in a cycling points race, to this end we analyzed the distances between cyclists and subgroups during the Japanese National Track Championships points race. A video camera was located in the spectator seats on the extension of the center line of the two straight sections of the cycling velodrome, and the cyclists passing through the center line on both the home and back straights were filmed. The time to complete a half lap was measured for each cyclist and used to obtain the average speed. The distance between cyclists was calculated based on the difference in passing time. The group was defined by the distance between cyclists based on the drafting effect, then, the group dynamics was analyzed. In over 90% of cases, the distance between cyclists was 3 m or less. Most of the cyclists in the race were located within the drafting range where air resistance is reduced. There were cases where the group remained as one, cases where the group separated before the sprint, cases where an escape occurred and the escape group remained ahead until the sprint, and cases where an escape occurred but the groups recombined before the sprint. The distance between the leading escape group and the main group is considered to be a critical distance to bifurcate success and failure for escape. It is important for cyclists and coaches to understand the distance at which an escape group will be sustained or absorbed, and to control the distance between the escape group and the main group during a competition.journal articl
