I MILLE E UNO RACCONTI ANTILLANI

    No full text

Non-verbal joint action in healthy adults: a systematic scoping review of EEG-hyperscanning research

    No full text
Using EEG-hyperscanning, neuroscientists showed that non-verbal joint actions are associated with different patterns of interpersonal neural coupling (INC), influenced by factors such as the type of joint action investigated, the experimental task used, and the analytical approach employed. The present systematic scoping review aims to identify the categories of non-verbal joint actions investigated so far, the experimental tasks and INC measures used, and the related main findings to provide a comprehensive overview of the field. Thirty-nintharticles were included in this review. Most studies investigated cooperative and simultaneous joint actions performed with either similar or complementary actions, whereas competitive and turn-based joint actions are under-investigated. Tasks involve interactions mainly based on movement, music, or computer, with movement-based tasks being most relevant to social neuroscience. Several INC approaches were used, with graph theory and phase synchrony being the commonly used. The main findings are organized and discussed according to the analytical approaches used and, for each approach, into groups of joint action categories and tasks. By providing a structured classification of joint action types and highlighting the relationship between tasks and INC methods, this review offers a reference for designing future studies and refining methodological approaches in EEG-hyperscanning research on social interaction

A network analysis of skill-specific internal migration flows in Italy

    No full text
Internal migration plays a crucial role in shaping regional economies and governance. To gain insights into this phenomenon, we propose conducting a network analysis of migration flow data among Italian provinces from 2002 to 2023, with a focus on eliminating irrelevant connections. This approach combines network filtering and clustering techniques, which refine the network structure to highlight meaningful connections and make mobility trends easier to interpret. Unlike traditional methods, which often struggle with complex or fragmented migration data, our approach enables us to identify both persistent migration hubs and emerging shifts in regional mobility. Our findings confirm the central role of northern provinces such as Milan, Turin, and Bologna, but also reveal a strengthening of connections between Southern areas like Naples and Bari, suggesting a growing regional appeal. While South-North migration remains dominant, high-skilled individuals are increasingly choosing Rome and other central provinces, indicating a diversification in migration patterns. Similar trends emerge for low-skilled workers, although age-related differences influence distinct mobility routes. These results offer actionable insights for policymakers. By investing in research, innovation, and entrepreneurial development in the South, improving university quality and academic infrastructure, strengthening connections between education and the local labour market, and enhancing infrastructure for remote work, South-North migrations and inequalities could be mitigated. Through a clear and accessible analysis, this study provides a practical tool for designing policies that promote more balanced regional development

Parenting stress, emotion regulation, and social skills in adolescents

    No full text
Parenting is recognized as a significant factor influencing adolescents' development, yet limited research has explored its impact on adolescents' social skills and the potential role of adolescent emotion regulation (ER) on this association. This cross-sectional study focused on triads: 102 adolescents (60.8% girls), aged 15-17 years, along with their 93 mothers and 90 fathers. Our findings revealed no significant differences in parenting stress levels between fathers and mothers. However, only fathers' parenting stress was negatively associated with adolescents' cognitive reappraisal, which in turn contributed to adolescents' poor social skills. No significant associations were found with expressive suppression. These results emphasize the significance of considering parenting stress, particularly from fathers' perspectives, when addressing adolescents' ER and social skills. This study underscores the potential role of fathers in the well-being and social competence of adolescent children, shedding light on the importance of comprehensive family-focused interventions

SOD-1/2 Involvement in the Antioxidant Molecular Events Occurring upon Complex Magnetic Fields Application in an In Vitro H2O2 Oxidative Stress-Induced Endothelial Cell Model

    Get PDF
Endothelial function plays a key role in tissue repair. Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) production impairs tissue renewal and homeostasis. Complex Magnetic Fields (CMFs) have been attracting attention as a non-invasive tool to promote tissue regeneration, especially through angiogenic stimulation. The present study aims to investigate CMF effect in an in vitro model of oxidative stress-stimulated Endothelial Cells (ECs). Cells were pre-treated with H2O2 to mimic an oxidative environment, followed by the application of three CMF programs repeated in two experimental sets: two consecutive cycles (two cycles) or two cycles spaced 24 h apart (T0+T24). Flow cytometry investigation shows that both CMF applications reduce ROS production, presumably promoting SODs proteins expression. Specifically, two cycles affect mitochondrial SOD-2 expression, which may promote cellular turnover by upregulating pro-apoptotic proteins, leading to mild cell death balanced with increased cell viability. T0+T24 application promotes cytosolic SOD-1 expression, which may influence the expression and release of antioxidant molecules, as evidenced by the increased protein levels of Akt/Nrf2 and the overall antioxidant activity measured post-treatment. In conclusion, ROS-induced EC dysfunction can be reverted by CMF application: 2 cycles could be applied when cellular renewal is required (such as in pathological wounds) while T0+T24 could be useful when an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect is needed (e.g., in edema or muscular lesions)

Urban regeneration through traditional folk events. "Do food festival reconvert the territory?"

    No full text
The massive consumption of resources causes significant changes in landscapes and affects the regenerative capacity of agricultural land, contributing to the deterioration of the territorial, economic and social conditions of geographically disadvantaged areas. A useful, albeit unusual, tool for limiting resource waste, revitalising the area and regenerating the land is the use of local food systems, expressed in the form of food festivals. Food and wine events in themselves do not directly improve disadvantaged communities, but combined with marketing techniques they act as a glue between agro-ecological practices and urban regeneration. In fact, by offering typical local agri-food products, it is possible to channel the flow of visitors to the various sites, favouring an economic influx which, in turn, influences socio-territorial regeneration. The aim of the study is to investigate the value of local agri-food events and their contribution to socio-territorial regeneration. The work carried out consists of examining official data on Italian agri-food performance over several years and collecting information and first-hand accounts of the various food festivals in the South

Monocameralismo all’italiana? Tornando a ragionare sulla trasformazione del Parlamento per contrastarne il declino

    No full text
The present paper aims to analyse the crisis of the current parliamentary structure, characterised by a subordinate role of Parliament with respect to the Government, and by distortion in the process of approving laws, proposing a reinterpretation of the unicameralism hypothesis in the Italian constitutional framework
