Hydro-Climatic Trends in Central Italy: A Case Study from the Aterno-Pescara River Watershed
Climate change is reshaping water systems and trends in hydro-climatic variables, such as temperature, precipitation, and river runoff, providing critical insights into the hydrological shifts influenced by climate change. However, the impact of climate variability on these variables varies by geographic location, making it necessary to study hydro-climatic variations in the Mediterranean’s changing climate to determine its impacts. This study analyzed the hydro-climatic trends in the Aterno-Pescara River watershed in central Italy from 1936 to 2013. We employed linear regression, Mann–Kendall, Sen’s slope, and Spearman correlation tests to estimate annual and seasonal trends. The results showed a significant warming trend on annual (0.037 °C/year) and seasonal time scales. Precipitation trends exhibited significant reductions annually, specifically during the autumn season, with a decrease of −0.68 mm/year; while showing a decline, other seasons were statistically insignificant. River runoff revealed drying trends annually and seasonally, decreasing by −0.29 m3 s−1/year over the study period. Furthermore, linear regression and Spearman correlation coefficients suggested a significant relationship between hydro-climatic variables with varying strengths (at 95% and 99% confidence levels) annually and seasonally. This decrease in precipitation and river runoff trends with the continuous rate points towards potential meteorological and hydrological droughts occurring in the future in this watershed. This study’s findings provide scientific grounds that could help develop sustainable strategies in the watershed
Strategies for Building a Positive and Equitable School Climate: Case-Based Applications
This article translates established theoretical and empirical knowledge on school climate into practical, case-based applications for school psychologists’ professional development. Grounded in the four core dimensions of school climate—Teaching and Learning, Safety, Relationships, and Environment—we illustrate how widely used, evidence-based strategies (e.g., integrating SEL into instruction, implementing PBIS within MTSS, using restorative practices, and engaging students in school improvement) provide a strong universal foundation for prevention and support. We then show how these same strategies can be deliberately adapted through an equity lens to ensure full benefit for students who are most at risk of marginalization. The equity-based adaptations presented—culturally responsive SEL, equity-focused PBIS, restorative practices that amplify marginalized voices, and student co-design informed by equity audits—recalibrate interventions to close gaps while affirming students’ dignity, identity, and agency. The proposed cases offer actionable guidance for data-informed, context-sensitive decision-making and capacity building at the school level. Taken together, universal strategies and equity-based extensions constitute a dual approach that can transform schools into inclusive communities where every student feels safe, respected, and empowered to learn

Dental pain in children: pharmacological management
Background: The prevalence of dental pain is relatively high across the global population, primarily attributable to dental caries. School-age children and adolescents with caries, particularly those with caregivers from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, are more likely to experience dental pain. In very young children, pain modulation is not yet fully developed; thus, inadequate pain management may cause pain memory formation which can lead to altered pain responses later in life.
Materials: This review aims to provide an overview of the management of dental pain in children with pulpitis. To achieve this goal, a search was conducted in PubMed using relevant keywords. The literature investigation focused on the pharmacological management of paediatric pulpitis, including the treatment of associated complications.
Conclusion: Dental pain represents a significant public health concern. Pain due to endodontic emergency is different in younger children and should to be assessed with the use of an appropriate scales and treated with NSAID and/or acetoaminophen. The combination of ibuprofen and acetaminophen at fixed doses appears to be a viable option for dental pain treatment, although further randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are needed for confirmation. Antibiotics should only be used in cases involving local and/or systemic infectious complications. Opioids are not recommended for managing dental pain. Antibiotic prophylaxis is necessary only in selected cases and should not overshadow primary prevention, which remains the only true option for reducing the development of dental complications. Antibiotic Stewardship Programs (ASPs) could play a significant role in reducing inappropriate antibiotic prescriptions

Hausdorff outer measures and the representation of the coherent upper conditional previsions by the countably additive Mobius transform
This paper explores coherent upper conditional previsions, a class of nonlinear functionals that generalize expectations while preserving consistency properties. The study focuses on their integral representation using the countably additive Möbius transform, which is possible if coherent upper previsions are defined with respect to a monotone set function of bounded variation. In this work, we prove that an integral representation with respect to a countably additive measure is also possible, on the Borel (Formula presented.) -algebra, even when the coherent upper prevision is defined by the Choquet integral with respect to a Hausdorff measure, which is not of bounded variation. It occurs since Hausdorff outer measures are metric measures, and therefore every Borel set is measurable with respect to them. Furthermore, when the conditioning event has a Hausdorff measure in its own Hausdorff dimension equal to zero or infinity, coherent conditional probability is defined via the countably additive Möbius transform of a monotone set function of bounded variation. The paper demonstrates the continuity of coherent conditional previsions induced by Hausdorff measures. © 2025 by the author
Un problema sullo statuto dell’anima; riflessioni a partire da HA. VIII 1, 588a 25-b 3
Starting from HA. Θ 1, 588a 25-b3, the paper will ask
which theory about growth and learning could lay behind the strange
formula
about the fact that the soul of very young children is “not
different” from that of some non-human animals. An interpretation
will be proposed, in order to accommodate the growth of the psychic
powers with the immutability of the soul meant as substantial form
