ICT-Based Innovative Instructional Designs in the Post Covid-19 Pandemic World
Abstract
This study described ICT-based innovative instructional designs in the post Covid-19 pandemic
world. Thus, the use of emerging technologies became inevitable in the society, especially in
education industry, to reduce personal contact to the barest minimum. The paper was divided into
four different parts in order to do justice to it. The first stage covers the important of using ICT
based instructional media in the post covid-19 pandemic world. Second stage explained the use of
Innovative pedagogical approaches. In the third stage the paper listed and discussed some ICT
based innovative instructional designs. The last part covers some benefits of emerging technology.
This study made use of published journals, e-books as foundation of its secondary data collection.
Sequel to the above expose, some important recommendations were made. The use of ICT-based
instructional designs in the classroom teaching and learning is very important because emerging
technologies have become a profound means of teaching students today in their different location
at the same time. Governments should enhance research by equipping research institutes with
emerging technologies which facilitates research activities. By using these emerging technologies,
students learning at their convenient and in their different locations in their learning activities.
Therefore, ICT-based instructional designs, emerging technologies, facilitates learning and makes
easier for educators and students to update themselves in the recent discoveries in education
industry

Does the Proximal Femur Geometry Predict Early Functional Outcome after Plate Fixation of Geriatric Pertrochanteric Fractures?
Background: The proximal femur geometry determines the hip force distribution.
The femoral neck axis length (FNAL), the hip axis length (HAL), the femoral
head diameter, and the femoral neck‑shaft angle (FNSA) could influence the
risk and outcome of pertrochanteric fractures. Restoring these parameters to
their prefracture values could predict early hip function. Aim: To determine
if the postoperative proximal femur geometry of geriatric patients with
plating for pertrochanteric fractures predicts the early functional outcome.
Materials and Methods: The study was a prospective study carried out at the
National Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu for 18 months. Geriatric patients who had
Proximal Femoral Locking fixation for pertrochanteric fractures were recruited.
Radiological parameters of the proximal femur in the unaffected and fixed hips
were measured and compared. The functional outcomes of the patients were
measured at 3 months postoperative period using the Harris hip score (HHS).
Multiple linear regression was conducted on the parameters to determine the
HHS. Results: Thirty patients participated in the study, with a significant
difference (P < 0.001) in the mean FNSA between unaffected (M = 128.69,
standard deviation (SD) =2.93) and operated hips (M = 121.81, SD = 8.86). The
FNSA was the only significant predictor of hip function, with a 1‑degree increase
improving the HHS by 1.30. Conclusion: There is a significant difference in the
FNSA between the unaffected and the operated hips. The FNSA significantly
predicts the early hip function and should be reconstructed to within normal
range during surger
Principals’ Application of Personnel Management Skills for Staff Motivation and Delegation of Duties in Secondary Schools in Enugu State in Post Covid19 Pandemic Era
The study inquired into the principals’ usage of the skills for motivation and delegation to influence
the performance of teachers in the area of study. All 293 school principals constitute the
population. Five (5) Local government areas were randomly selected for the study and their
teachers were the respondents. Two research questions provided a guide to the study. A
“Questionnaire of Motivation and Delegation skills of Principals’ was adopted to obtain
information from the respondents. A modified Likert’s four-point rating scale was used to rate the
instrument, with 2.50 as an accepted mean score. Mean (X) and standard deviation (SD) were used
in answering the research questions while the ‘t’ test was used for the hypothesis at a significant
level of 0.05. As revealed by the results, principals apply the skills for motivation and delegation
of duties to a very low level. Furthermore, the result shows that the difference in the mean ratings
of the respondents for urban and rural principals is not significant. These prompted the
recommendation for training of principals on the skills for management of staff especially for
motivation and delegation of duties. Government should also make use of supervision reports to
enhance performance
Accelerating Employee Performance through Management by Objectives: Evidence from Manufacturing Firms
This study explore ways of accelerating employee performance through
management by objective among workers in manufacturing firms in
Anambra State Nigeria. Three specific objectives research questions and
hypotheses were formulated with the decomposed variables of the study.
This study used a survey research design. The study population was three
hundred and thirty-three (333) workers whereas the sample size was one
hundred and eight two (182) arrived at using Taro Yamane formula. Data
were composed using a self-administered questionnaire from the sample size
of workers. The simple random sampling system was applied for the study.
Pearson correlation coefficient and simple linear regression were applied for
hypotheses testing. In the first hypothesis, the study found that participation
exerts moderate influence on employee retention among workers in
manufacturing firms (β=0.65, t=10.36, r2=0.424, F=107.272, p<0.01).
Secondly, the test hypothesis found that there is a significant positive
correlation connecting goal setting as well as employee job satisfaction
among workers in manufacturing firms (r=0.859, n=148, p<0.01). In the
third hypothesis, the study found that feedback exerts moderate statistical
influence on employee commitment among workers in manufacturing firms
(β=0.76, t=14.24, r2=0.581, F=202.815, p<0.01). The study concludes that for
manufacturing firms to increase employee performance, setting and
managing objectives is imperative. The research recommended that
management needs to slot in employees in its actions so as to dissuade them
from leaving the firm. The study also advocated that management needs to
incorporate employee contributions when setting the firm’s goals to boost
employee confidence and achieve job satisfaction
National Security and Sustainable Economic Development: The Role of Vigilantees (Community Policing) Schemes in Nigeria
confront the seemingly insurmountable situation. The menace of Boko-Haram crisis in northeast,
violent farmer-herder crisis in southwest and north-central states, banditry and kidnapping in
Southeast and south-south regions have great effect on socio-economic life of Nigerians. To arrest
this situation, in different location gave rise to desire for complementary security arrangement (in
some cases with backing from federal or state governments). While some opinion molders and policy
formulators have in these circumstances advocated for a comprehensive overhaul of some or all these
governmental agencies. This paper thoroughly appraises the role of complementing outfits such as
community policing and local vigilante outfits like Ebube Agu of Southeast, Amotekun of Southwest
and Niger Delta Volunteer Force of South-South in sustainable economic development through
augmentation of national security. This study confirms the positive activities of the vigilantes, request
that various tiers of government to develop synergistic efforts of these vigilantes’ and other state
security services for the betterment of the Nigeria security apparatus
FEMINISM IN CHIMAMANDA’S AMERICANA: GIUDANCE/ COUNSELLING AND EDUCATION MANAGEMENT ON THE INTERSECTION BETWEEN FEMINISM AND AFRICAN TRADITION
Professionalism falls within the fields of academic endeavour which gender sentiment has
serious affected in African cultures, especially in the pre-colonial and post-colonial
spaces. This sentiment on female gender results from the perceptions developed in African
tradition and religion. The problem which this paper is set to address is the issue of
introducing gender or famine sentiment in considering ones children or child for studying
in higher institutions, and the embarrassment they experience in discharging their
professional duties/ prowess in offices when they graduate or professionalize themselves. The study aims at addressing the problem as it affects Nigeria with insights on the
relevance of experts in guidance/ counseling and education management from foundation
stage of academic pursuits to the higher levels for a better understanding of human
intellectual and physical capacities rather than gender. It is discovered in the paper that
the observations of Ngozi Chimamanda Adieche’s Americana have much examinations
and accord to the fact that the female gender is completely uncomfortable with African
feminist practice and conception. Adichie stresses strongly on black/gender race
renaissance and trans- cultural identity. The study therefore employs feminist,
phenomenological, and sociological approaches in conveying its message. Data got were
analyzed with historical and descriptive methods of data analysis. It is recommended
among other things that African culture, tradition and religion should be fairly
accommodating subsequently, than they were before and now. Secondly, African cultural
ideology should be made to strike a balance in its gender sensitivity even in foreign lands
by African
