Synergizing student led networks and flows in an urban area: a case of Mukherjee nagar Delhi
Studentification describes as process in which high numbers of students migrate to
established residential neighbourhoods displacing ‘settled’ residents. This initiates
distinct spatial, economic, cultural, and social effects. Unrelated individuals and groups
start staying together in shared accommodation, with young, co-habiting students
changing local environments, building typologies, and bringing new subculture and
lifestyle.
In India, working professionals and students migrate to prepare for entrance
examinations or pursue higher education of various professional and educational
courses or recruitment examinations. Students either live in hostel or paying guest
accommodation. The phenomenon of displacement of communities from
neighbourhoods creates conflicts and contestations for space. The study area,
Mukherjee Nagar neighbourhood has gone through these changes due to the
presence of coaching institutions and due to the insufficient and inadequate
accommodation facilities for the influx of students. The area has seen significant
architectural, sociological, demographic, and economic changes because of this
phenomenon residential fabric and social life have been severely impacted. Not only
new buildings, but also the use of pre-existing constructed fabric, are affected. All of
this has resulted in cramped living quarters as well as a decrease in the
neighbourhood’s overall space quality and the reputation has shifted dramatically from
a luxury neighbourhood to a hostel-based economy colony.
By synergizing the network and flows of the students in the neighbourhood through
identifying the strong networks within the study area will ensure development of
students, mitigation of contestation and it will initiate the process of study area
becoming a knowledge society while retaining its vibrancy
a case of Anjana river South Bengal
Anjana River, the river Jalangi's primary east side tributary stream that has now become a shallow canal. According to documents from the Nadia district, the then-fluid river Anjana was the only way to go from one side of the district to the other, and it also kept the water balance between the rivers Jalangi and Churni during the monsoon. From antiquity to the present, it made significant contributions to the district of Nadia's riparian system. Throughout its illustrious history, Bengal's commerce has made several contributions to civilization, particularly in the areas of merchant life and water transportation. In addition, the river helped the Zamindars with regular water supply for day to day work and also to retain high ground water level. It used for transportation for the city and also water of anjana rives, playes a important role in the water balance between the two rivers jalangi and churni . As a result, the hydrological equilibrium was not disrupted. However, due to natural and artificial forces, the normal flow of the river Anjana changed over time, leading the river to a dead drainage system — which is "khal" or canal. Relinking lost history and trade culture through bali jatra ground in Cuttack
Odisha has a rich culture of maritime trade but unfortunately it is diluted. Like a drop of paint in a bucket of water, the essence has percolated to each and every part of the state but it nowhere dense enough to assert its presence. This thesis is a novel attempt to re concentrate the essence of the lost cultural history in a place from where the culture will reemit its essence. The most suited area for this proposal is the Bali Jatra ground which used to hold maritime trade exhibitions and now holds the largest open trade fair of Asia. This thesis aims to use latest tools in computational design to create the best in class interventions for creating a unique form and educational experience for the people through open and closed public spaces. Design story narrative is driven through use intense machine learning and bio mimicry for creating the site planning and field simulations have been used along with climate data to evolve the form of the experience center

Sujanpur Tira is a palace-fort located 22 kilometres from Hamirpur town on the Kangra border. In 1758, Raja Abhay Chand of the Kangra Katoch dynasty erected the fort. Sujanpur Tira served as the Katoch dynasty's royal home for more than a century. In the early nineteenth century, the fort was also the home of Raja Sansar Chand, who is credited with being the patron of the Kangra School of miniature painting.
The fort was established in the year 1750 by Maharaja Abhay Chandra with the goal of serving as the military post of his realm. The fort was also utilized by British rulers during their time in India in the last years of its existence. The fort's architecture is reminiscent of mediaeval fortifications, and it overlooks Sujanpur's village. Sujanpur Holi became popular during Raja Sansar Chand's reign, and was celebrated by him and his royal family, as well as his courtiers and intelligentsia. Since then, Sujanpur Holi has become a well-known event that is celebrated with tremendous fervor and splendor each year. Sujanpur Tira Fort played a major role in the affairs of the Katoch Dynasty and the Kangra Region. Maharaja Sansar Chand, who is credited with ushering in the region's golden period, designed it. During his lifetime, politics, the economy, art and architecture, education, and reading all advanced substantially. He was also responsible for the promotion of Kangra painting and art, which may be seen in the Narbadeshwara and Gauri Shankar temples.
Monumental remains may still be discovered in Tira. The palaces, courts, and temples of Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch still exist in Tira, albeit they have been devastated by time, earthquakes, and other natural calamities. Many of the ruins can be seen, and one can imagine how beautiful they once were. From the 'Chuagan' ground, one can still see the daily court, Baradari. Waste laden or stagnant canals and poorly maintained Canal fronts has become a common sight in many Indian cities. Cities have been struggling with the mammoth task of cleaning and maintaining the canal fronts since decades. Mostly these canals were once an integral part of the socio economy of the city. Reviving these canal fronts and giving it a new start could play a vitalrole in the rapid developing urban fabric. The fate of the canal fronts of alleppey is no different, the paper discusses the canal fronts of alleppey and the scope of its redevelopment. The Canals of Alappuzha is situated in a very strategic location as it forms a closed loop around the town regions of alleppey engulfing a lot of places of interest along its canal front. Alappuzha town has strong historic presence and it is fading day by day. Today it is popular for its tourism industry and there
is a need for tourism related infrastructure. With several proposals already in line, The canal frontcultural centre is the anchor project of a series of projects which is planned. Although the majorchallenge will be the canal redevelopment, the buildings and urban nature of spaces around the canal front will be a game changer and have a huge impact on the city image of Alappuzha. Community base landscape development strategy for safeguarding livelihood of the Kanniyar tribes in Kerala
The Kani tribal community have been losing their livelihoods and slowly their unique culture and traditional values. The community have been struggling from a long time to meet their basic needs. The settlements are in poor conditions and they lack a proper economic infrastructure. Apart from this, loss of forest lands and urbanisation has led the people to leave their natural homes in search for better opportunities. The Kani communities are a store of locally adapted landscape knowledge and the forefront of adaptation. Their lives and livelihoods are based on the local lands productivity, and their cultural and social lives are deeply connected to the forests, grasslands, fields, wetlands, and waterways within their landscapes. There are no one who are better to manage these landscapes and given their intimate knowledge of local conditions, they are often in the best position to improve ecosystem conditions on the ground and restore landscape resilience. The different aspects of culture and traditions that link the Kani tribe with their landscape is studied and analysed in order to achieve the objectives of protecting and safeguarding the community. These objectives are translated through landscape strategies and modules for attaining self sustaining Kani tribal community.

case of Buddha Nala Punjab
Industrial cities have long been and will continue to be the backbone of progress and wealth, but they are now the clear cause of the death of the city's environment, flora, and fauna. The lack of resilient water quality restoration strategies in these places is a necessity. As India's water situation worsens, this project aims to develop effective water quality management solutions. These include a variety of projects aimed at encouraging water conservation on the one hand and improving water use efficiency in the industrial, residential, and agricultural sectors on the other.
Buddha nala, a tributary of the Sutlej River in Ludhiana, Punjab, is one such situation where the river has not only degraded, but hazardous wastes from all industries have been discharged with city wastewater and rainwater, causing health problems in the city. This thesis envisions to transform a contaminated stream in the heart of Ludhiana, Punjab into a urban landscape river; while improving cities ecology and quality of life while contributing to the Sutlej’s broader water ecology.
The restoration of such river streams converted to nala's will not only have a huge impact on the ecology of the watershed basin, but will also provide communal areas for river activities. Water quality was assessed through sampling at several locations, and remediation solutions were considered, as well as a combination of bioengineering technologies. This thesis demonstrates a detailed landscape assessment approach and identifies how a natural stream turned nala can contribute to the ecology after restoration while revitalising the city's health, which is clogged with industrial spaces and no open green spaces or vacant land that could be used to treat degraded water.
