Impact of Gender Stereotypes on Career Advancement in STEM Fields in Tanzania
Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyze the impact of gender stereotypes on career advancement in STEM fields in Tanzania.
Methodology: This study adopted a desk methodology. A desk study research design is commonly known as secondary data collection. This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low cost advantage as compared to a field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries.
Findings: In Tanzania, gender stereotypes significantly impede career advancement for women in STEM fields, creating barriers to their professional growth and development. Research reveals that societal expectations and cultural biases often undervalue women’s contributions and limit their opportunities for advancement. Women face challenges such as unequal access to resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities compared to their male counterparts. These stereotypes contribute to lower representation of women in leadership positions within STEM sectors, further perpetuating gender disparities.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Social role theory, stereotype threat theory & expectancy-value theory may be used to anchor future studies on impact of gender stereotypes on career advancement in STEM fields in Tanzania. Establish mentorship programs that pair LGBTQ+ individuals with supportive mentors who can provide guidance and advocacy. Implement and enforce policies that promote diversity and inclusion in hiring and promotion practices within STEM fields
Impact of Trade Policies, Tariffs, and Sanitary and Phytosanitary Regulations on International Livestock Trade and Market Access for Livestock Producers in Brazil
Purpose: The aim of the study was to evaluate impact of trade policies, tariffs, and sanitary and phytosanitary regulations on international livestock trade and market access for livestock producers in Brazil.
Findings: it\u27s evident that trade policies, including tariffs and non-tariff measures, significantly influence bilateral trade flows in livestock products. Reductions in tariffs generally lead to increased trade, while increases in tariffs have the opposite effect, demonstrating the importance of tariff liberalization for stimulating trade and enhancing market access.

Specific objectives include evaluating the influence of supplier, warehouse, material, and logistics outsourcing on the operational performance of RwandAir.
Methodology: The research was grounded in theories including Transaction Cost Economics (TCE), Principal Agency Theory, Resource Dependency Theory, and Queuing Theory. The study employs a descriptive survey design with both quantitative and qualitative methods for data collection. Quantitative data was collected via surveys, and qualitative insights were gathered through semi-structured interviews. Documentary analysis also supplemented the primary data. The target population consists of 148 individuals from various categories involved in RwandAir, with purposive sampling ensuring representation from different procurement categories. A sample size of 109 was determined using Slovin\u27s formula. Data analysis includes descriptive statistics, inferential tests (regression analysis), and thematic analysis.
Findings: The findings reveal significant relationships between various types of outsourcing and organizational performance, as shown by the regression coefficients. Supplier outsourcing had the strongest positive impact on performance (coefficient = 0.786, p < 0.001). Warehouse outsourcing contributed positively (coefficient = 0.165, p = 0.015), material outsourcing showed a modest effect (coefficient = 0.133, p = 0.046), and logistics outsourcing also had a significant impact (coefficient = 0.380, p < 0.001). The results suggest that effective outsourcing strategies, especially in supplier and logistics areas, enhance operational efficiency.
