Reduction of Lean Wastes by Using Value Stream Mapping: A Case Study of Textile Company in Pakistan
Purpose: Lean manufacturing, originating from the Toyota Production System (TPS), aims to reduce waste and optimize resources. Developed countries must adopt Lean practices for performance improvements while developing countries often use just-in-case approaches. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a crucial tool for diagnosing, implementing, and maintaining Lean Manufacturing, helping identify improvement opportunities and eliminating waste. The research at the company aims to eliminate Lean wastes and line unbalancing issues to improve lead time and the value-added ratio (VAR), enhancing production efficiency. The research aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Production & Consumption) by focusing on waste reduction.
Methodology: The research uses time study, Edaw max, and Visio software to analyze tasks, create VSMs of current and future states, and control charts to examine data variations over time. Data collection involves cycle time, batch size, packet size, and the number of workers required for each activity.
Findings: The research objectives include studying the existing scenario of production units via VSM, identifying, and eliminating Lean wastes, and comparing proposed and existing scenarios for improvement opportunities. The literature review highlights the importance of Lean manufacturing in eliminating unnecessary processes, reducing lead time, and fostering positive stakeholder relationships.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: This study suggests the better way to reduce the lean wastages and balance the line by using VSM technique. The future state VSM is created to conceptualize potential improvements and gather feedback, focusing on reducing non-value-adding tasks, work-in-process inventory, workforce, and overall process time
Designing a Cognitive Supply Chain Platform Using SAP ERP Solution for Smart Decision Support
Purpose: This paper aims to discuss how cognitive computing can work with supply chain management and differentiate it from the SAP ERP solutions which improves decision-making activities. It would reveal the potential of using analytics, machine learning techniques, and natural language processing for real-time decision-making.
Methodology: To start with, a critical review of the literature is made and a functional breakdown of SAP ERP is conducted to understand the system\u27s structure and components. Talking about it in detail, the paper explores the chances, threats, and outlooks of integrating cognitive computing into SCM.
Findings: In light of the above findings, it is revealed that integrating cognitive technologies with SAP ERP can enhance supply chain decision-making by equipping managers with complete timely information and possible future outcomes.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Considering this, the paper suggests that more studies and implementations of cognitive supply chain platforms connected to the SAP ERP solution will improve decision-making effectiveness and company competitiveness in the modern context
Supply Chain Optimization and Performance of Agro-Processing Firms in Kiambu County, Kenya
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between supply chain optimization and performance of agro-processing firms in Kiambu County, Kenya.
Methodology: The study used descriptive research design, where both qualitative and quantitative research was applied. The target population was 240 respondents from the concerned departments in Kiambu County, Kenya. The researcher carried census survey since respondents are manageable. The research technique was purposive random sampling techniques with different stratus. 10% (24) of the respondents were pilot tested for validity and reliability of the research instrument. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with the help of Statistical Package for Social Science version 28 and the same was now presented in a form of tables and figures. The pilot and validity test results was over 0.7 and 0.5 respectively. The research proceeded to actual data collection with few adjustments of research questionnaire. Data was presented in form of tables.
Findings: The study findings indicate that Supply Chain optimization has a broad impact on performance of agro-processing firms in Kiambu County, Kenya. The study revealed that there is a positive relationship between inventory optimization and performance of agro-processing firms, sustainability optimization influences performance of agro-processing firms, demand forecasting had a positive effect on performance of agro-processing firms and there is a positive relationship between reduced cost optimization and performance of agro-processing firms in Kiambu County, Kenya.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: This study was anchored on inventory theory. The study\u27s recommendation to all firms is that the implementation of supply chain optimization and performance of agro-processing firms in Kiambu County, Kenya was a significant relationship. This study recommends that the best performance of agro-processing firms in Kiambu County, Kenya should strive to be proactive on how to perform better to retain integrity and improve transparency and accountability on performance of agro-processing firms in Kiambu County
Implementation of AI Transportation Routing in Reverse Logistics to Reduce CO2 Footprint
Purpose: This study explores the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in transportation routing within reverse logistics to reduce CO2 emissions. By optimizing routing processes, we aim to enhance the efficiency of logistics operations while minimizing environmental impact.
Methodology: we analyze the implications of improved transportation strategies. Furthermore, we discuss the intersection of technological innovation and environmental economics in shaping sustainable practices.
Findings: The findings underscore the importance of AI-driven decision-making frameworks (D81) and their role in advancing IT management in logistics. The study on AI-driven transportation routing in reverse logistics highlights significant implications for both businesses and the environment. By optimizing routes, AI reduces fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, helping companies meet sustainability goals. This leads to cost savings, as AI improves route efficiency and fleet utilization, while also enhancing operational efficiency. AI’s ability to predict and adjust to real-time conditions ensures scalability and adaptability, making it easier to handle increasing returns volumes in e-commerce. Moreover, AI enables better inventory management and resource planning, reducing the need for urgent shipments. It also paves the way for innovations like autonomous vehicles, further transforming reverse logistics.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate the impact of online learning platforms on student engagement in India.

Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries.
Findings: Research on online learning platforms in India highlights increased access to education, particularly in remote areas. Students show high engagement due to platform convenience and interactive features. Challenges like the digital divide impact equitable access and engagement. Despite these challenges, online platforms have the potential to revolutionize education in India. Addressing accessibility barriers is crucial for maximizing engagement and ensuring inclusive learning.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate the evaluation of instructor-generated vs. student-generated content in online humanities courses in South Africa.

Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries.
Findings: Studies comparing instructor-generated and student-generated content in online humanities courses in South Africa indicate that instructor-generated content offers structured and consistent learning materials aligned with course objectives. Conversely, student-generated content enhances engagement, critical thinking, and collaborative skills among learners. Effective use of both approaches, tailored to course topics and student demographics, could optimize online humanities education outcomes in South Africa by balancing instructional guidance with student autonomy and creativity.

Findings: The study revealed that primary drivers of the recent changes observed in global ocean circulation patterns are involving a combination of natural variability and anthropogenic influences. Key factors identified include global warming, alterations in wind patterns, sea surface temperature anomalies, and increased freshwater input from melting ice caps and glaciers. These elements interact in intricate ways to influence the dynamics of ocean currents, which are critical for regulating Earth\u27s climate and supporting marine ecosystems.

Stakeholder Management and Loan Capital Project Performance by Edify Rwanda
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to assess the influence of stakeholders’ management on loan capital project performance by Edify Rwanda.
Methodology: A descriptive and correlational research design was employed for data collection. The sample included 201 participants: 60 head teachers, 60 school owners, 11 bank managers, and 70 Edify Rwanda staff. The sample size of 133 respondents, consisting of 126 for quantitative data and 7 for qualitative data, was determined using the Slovin formula.
Findings: The findings from the multiple regression analysis indicated that stakeholders’ expectations and needs identification and stakeholder conflict resolutions had significant effect on loan capital project performance by Edify Rwanda. However, stakeholder communication and stakeholder involvement had insignificant effect on loan capital project performance by Edify Rwanda.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study recommends that Edify Rwanda should implement mechanisms to ensure that community members have a more significant role in selecting projects. This could involve regular community meetings and consultations to gather input and prioritize projects based on local needs. In order to improve stakeholder engagement, Edify Rwanda should develop robust feedback mechanisms that allow stakeholders to voice their concerns and suggestions throughout the project lifecycle. This could include surveys, suggestion boxes, and regular follow-up meetings
