Influence of Stakeholder Participation on Performance of Rice Sector in Kenya
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of stakeholder participation on performance of rice sector in Kenya.
Methodology: The study was anchored on the stakeholder theory .The target population of this study comprised of 185 farmer representatives (cooperative managers), 36 staff of research institutions (researchers) and 9 managers of National Irrigation Authority and 16 rice millers (managers) as the key stakeholders of rice growing in Kenya. The study sample size was 152 and study adopted multi-stage sampling whereas purposive, stratified and random sampling techniques were appropriate for drawing sample size. The data collection instruments were questionnaires and interview schedules. The qualitative data was analyzed by use of the content analysis. While quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS Version 27. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were established.
Findings: The study revealed that stakeholder participation has a statistically positive and significant relationship with rice sector performance. The descriptive results indicated that majority of the respondents (mean =3.91, standard deviation =1.048) implied that stakeholder participation was among the stakeholder governance mechanisms employed in the rice sector in Kenya. The correlation results also revealed that stakeholder participation and performance of rice sector in Kenya were positively and significantly related (r=0.810, p=0.000). In addition, the regression results showed that stakeholder participation explains 65.7% of the variations in performance (r-squared =0.657), making it a strong predictor of performance in Kenya\u27s rice sector. The regression model was statistically significant (F = 234.042, p < 0.05), and stakeholder participation had a positive and significant effect (β=1.034, p=0.000) on performance of rice sector in Kenya.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study recommends that managers in the rice sector actively engage all stakeholders farmers, government agencies, development partners, and local communities in decision-making processes. This is through implementing regular stakeholder meetings, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to ensure that stakeholders\u27 voices are heard
Sustainable Leadership Models for Climate Governance: A Global Perspective
Purpose: The general objective of this study was to examine sustainable leadership models for climate governance.
Methodology: The study adopted a desktop research methodology. Desk research refers to secondary data or that which can be collected without fieldwork. The study relied on already published studies, reports and statistics. This secondary data was easily accessed through the online journals and library.
Findings: Preliminary empirical review revealed that that sustainable leadership was essential for effective climate governance, requiring adaptive, inclusive, and long-term strategies. Leadership gaps, especially in resource-limited regions, hindered global progress, highlighting the need for collaborative and resilient leadership models.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The Transformational Leadership theory, Institutional theory and Stewardship theory may be used to anchor future studies on climate governance. The study recommended enhancing leadership theories, investing in leadership development, and embedding sustainable leadership into policies. Strengthening leadership capacity was crucial for advancing theory, improving practice, and ensuring resilient climate governance worldwide
Impact of Transformational Leadership on Employee Performance in the Tech Industry: A Comparative Study between India and Germany
Purpose: To aim of the study was to analyze the impact of transformational leadership on employee performance in the tech industry: a comparative study between India and Germany.
Methodology: This study adopted a desk methodology. A desk study research design is commonly known as secondary data collection. This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low cost advantage as compared to a field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries.
Findings: The study found that transformational leadership positively impacts employee performance in both countries, with cultural differences influencing its effectiveness. In India, leaders who emphasized vision and empowerment boosted motivation and performance, while in Germany, a focus on intellectual stimulation and inspiration led to increased innovation and efficiency. The study recommends tailoring leadership styles to local cultural values to enhance employee performance.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Transformational leadership theory, hersey-blanchard situational leadership theory & cultural dimensions’ theory may be used to anchor future studies on the impact of transformational leadership on employee performance in the tech industry: a comparative study between India and Germany. Tech companies in both India and Germany should implement leadership development programs that are culturally and contextually tailored. In India, leadership programs should gradually introduce transformational leadership, focusing on elements such as individualized consideration and alignment with organizational goals to overcome hierarchical challenges. Policymakers in both India and Germany should encourage tech firms to incorporate leadership policies that recognize and address cultural differences
The Influence of Leadership-Supported Communication-Inclusion on Service-Delivery from Employees with Disability in Level-Six Hospitals in Kenya
Purpose: Communication-inclusion facilitates employees with disability in their service-delivery, through knowledge management, technology and attitudes. In level-six hospitals in Kenya, leadership-support for disability communication-inclusion and its influence on service-delivery from employees with disability had not been researched. To assess influence of leadership-supported communication-inclusion on service-delivery from employees with disability.
Methodology: This cross-sectional research, used two self-administered and/or assisted Likert-scale-based questionnaires, and observation checklists. Population was 229 employees with disability and 229 supervisors sampled by census from five purposively-selected hospitals. Data analysis done using SPSS version 29, N-Vivo version 15, Peason’s correlation coefficients and ANOVA to test hypothesis, yielded measures of central tendency, dispersion, percentages; associations using. Cut of p-value < 0.05 indicated significance.
Findings: Employees with disability and supervisors rated service-delivery at 90% and 84.3%, and communication-inclusion 71.9% and 84%, respectively. Attitude (0.044), team support (>0.001) and capacity-matched-task-allocations (0.006) were significant. Communication contributed 34.7% (R 0.347) positive change in service-delivery with F statistic of 106.347 greater than critical value 0.000 and p-value 0.000 < 0.05. Null hypothesis, ‘Communication-inclusion has no significant influence on service-delivery at level-six hospitals in Kenya,’ was rejected. A respondent said, “…I use a special touch, speaking phone, very expensive but it was not tax exempt…Internet is available… most times…, in some places, it is not…this affects our communication…Negative…attitude needs to be addressed…”

Impact of Political Ideologies on Civic Engagement in South Korea
Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyze the impact of political ideologies on civic engagement in South Korea.

Findings: Political ideologies significantly influence civic engagement in South Korea, where citizens\u27 political leanings often shape their participation in social and political activities. Conservative ideologies are typically associated with formal engagement, such as voting and policy advocacy, while progressive ideologies are linked to grassroots movements and activism on social issues. A key finding is that South Koreans with strong ideological identities are more likely to participate in civic activities, as these beliefs often align with specific causes or political agendas. Furthermore, generational divides play a role; younger progressives tend to engage in digital activism, while older conservatives favor traditional forms of participation.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Civic voluntarism model, social identity theory & theory of planned behavior may be used to anchor future studies on the impact of political ideologies on civic engagement in South Korea. To foster greater civic engagement, practical steps should be taken to encourage participation in ideologically diverse groups. Policymakers should consider reforming electoral systems to ensure that they reflect the diversity of political ideologies within a society
Effect of Public Transportation Accessibility on Employment Rates in Indonesia
Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of public transportation accessibility on employment rates in Indonesia.

Findings: The effect of public transportation accessibility on employment rates in Indonesia has been shown to have a positive relationship. Improved access to public transportation enhances mobility, allowing individuals to access a wider range of job opportunities, particularly in urban areas. Research indicates that areas with better transportation infrastructure see increased employment rates, especially among lower-income groups who rely on public transit. Additionally, more efficient public transport systems can reduce travel time and costs, further encouraging job participation.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Social exclusion theory, human capital theory & spatial mismatch theory may be used to anchor future studies on the effect of public transportation accessibility on employment rates in Indonesia. Transit-oriented development can encourage the creation of job hubs around public transportation stations, reducing the time spent commuting. Policies should prioritize investments in sustainable and accessible public transportation systems, particularly in areas with high unemployment rates or underserved communities
The Role of Mobile Value Added Services towards Influencing Consumer Purchasing Behaviour in the Mobile Telecommunication Industry of Namibia
Purpose: This study is aimed at evaluating the influence of value-added services on consumer purchasing behaviour in the Namibian mobile telecommunication industry. The study further intends to answer several research questions combined with hypotheses testing on perceptions of value-added services towards consumer purchasing behaviour in the Namibian mobile telecoms.
Methodology: A correlational research design was employed in the study. A self-administered questionnaire both online and offline to collect data. The research instrument obtained the reliability and validity requirements, using Cronbach and the Factor Loadings (FL), and Average Variance Extracted (AVE) respectively. A simple random sampling technique was adopted in the data collection process. The sample size was determined as 384. A total of 430 valid responses were received. This quantitative study used the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23 and Microsoft Excel for data analysis. Descriptive statistics was adopted when conducting data analysis, including frequencies and mean scores. Inferential statistics was used in hypothesis testing. The research study collected and used secondary data from journals, books, and internet sources. The analysed data was presented using Tables and Figures.
Findings: Based on the tested hypothesis, value-added services had a statistically insignificant weak positive relationship with consumer purchasing behaviour (rs (430) = .009, p-value >.0.05). The results also revealed a statistically insignificant negative relationship between income and consumer purchasing behaviour (rs (430) = -.018, p-value >.0.05). ). It was concluded, that there was insufficient information to reject the null hypothesis or suggest that the alternative is correct. Future studies should focus on collecting more information and adopting other research methodologies, such as qualitative or mixed research.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Several consumer behaviour theories and models informed the study’s conceptual framework. Theories included the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), Hawkins Stern\u27s Impulse Buying, Maslow\u27s Hierarchy of Needs, Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) and models such as the Engel-Kollat-Blackwell (EKB) were adapted to the study. Policy makers should expedite the implementation of policies and laws to enhance consumer protection and awareness. Recommendations include enhancing consumer awareness of value-added services and the repetition of research with broad inclusion of other variables, including demographical information
Market Penetration Strategies and Competitive Advantage of the Telecommunication Firms in Kenya
Purpose: The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of market penetration strategies on the competitive advantage of telecommunication firms in Kenya. Specifically, the study sought to establish the influence of market penetration strategies on competitive advantage and to examine the moderating effect of ICT regulatory policy on the relationship between market penetration strategies and competitive advantage. The research was driven by critical challenges in the Kenyan telecommunication sector, including declining voice revenues, regulatory shifts, technological disruptions, and evolving customer demands.
Methodology: A total of 130 respondents, drawn from a pool of 196 senior and middle-level managers across five telecommunication firms in Kenya, participated in the study. The respondents were selected using purposive sampling to ensure targeted representation. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques.
Findings: Regression analysis revealed a strong positive relationship (R = 0.781) between market penetration strategies and competitive advantage, indicating that these strategies are fundamentally linked to firm performance. The R-squared value of 0.610 demonstrated that 61.0% of the variation in competitive advantage could be attributed to changes in market penetration strategies. Furthermore, the analysis confirmed that ICT regulatory policy significantly moderates this relationship, highlighting its critical role in shaping competitive dynamics within the industry. The study concludes that a robust causal relationship exists between market penetration strategies and competitive advantage. Effective implementation of these strategies significantly enhances competitive positioning. Additionally, ICT regulatory policies play an integral role in moderating this relationship, emphasizing their importance in influencing market behaviors and the success of market penetration efforts.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study was grounded in three theoretical frameworks: Ansoff Matrix Theory, Competitive Advantage Theory and Regulatory Capture Theory, which provided a foundation for understanding the strategic and regulatory dimensions of market penetration and competitive advantage.Based on these findings, the study recommends that ICT regulatory policies be structured to support informed decision-making and promote growth and operational efficiency within the telecommunications sector. Policymakers are encouraged to align regulations with competitive strategies to foster synergy, sustain market penetration efforts, and strengthen competitive advantage. For academia and industry, the study serves as a valuable resource for future research and a practical guide for managers seeking to optimize business operations and implement effective growth strategies to enhance competitive performance
The Joint Effect of Strategic Leadership, Strategy Implementation, Macro Environment and Performance of Companies Listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange
Purpose: This research examined the joint effect of strategic leadership, strategy implementation and macro-environmental factors on the performance of companies listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). The investigation was guided by four distinct objectives, each stemming from this central research purpose.
Methodology: The study\u27s primary theoretical framework was Upper Echelons Theory, with supplementary conceptual support provided by Environment Dependency Theory, Institutional Theory, and Expectancy Theory. A positivist philosophical approach informed the design, which utilized a cross-sectional survey methodology. Primary data was collected using structured questionnaires. The research population consisted of all 63 NSE-listed companies as of December 2021. Data analysis incorporated both descriptive and inferential statistical methods.
Findings: The results demonstrated that strategic leadership has a significant positive impact on organisational performance outcomes. Strategy implementation emerged as a significant mediator in the strategic leadership-performance relationship. Similarly, the macro environment exhibited substantial moderating effects on this association. These findings indicate that strategic leadership achieves superior organisational results when properly synchronized with internal execution processes and environmental responsiveness. Strategy implementation functions as an essential integrative framework, ensuring harmony between internal organisational capabilities and external environmental requirements. The research provides partial validation of previous empirical investigations and advances theoretical, practical, and policy knowledge domains. Furthermore, Upper Echelons Theory receives reinforcement through these findings.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The research offers practical insights for managers and policymakers regarding the importance of continuous strategic assessment in dynamic operational contexts. Organisations should implement regular strategic reviews to maintain alignment between evolving macro-environmental circumstances and shifting organisational objectives. Qualifications and Experience Patterns of Physical Education Teachers for Learners with Visual Disability
Purpose: The learners, the classroom environment and the teachers serve as essential pillars in the learning process, including the teaching of physical education (PE) to students with visual disabilities. This study aimed to examine the qualifications and experiences of PE teachers working with visually impaired learners. The primary objective was to determine the teachers\u27 qualifications and professional experience in this specialized field.
Methodology: A descriptive research design was adopted, involving a target population of 10 head teachers from schools catering to learners with disabilities and 45 PE teachers. Data collection was conducted using two instruments: an interview schedule for head teachers and a self-administered questionnaire for teachers. The study provides a comprehensive analysis of the factors affecting the quality of physical education for learners with visual disabilities in primary schools.
Findings: The study revealed that nearly two-thirds (61.76%) of physical education teachers for these learners are female, with males comprising 38.24%, which is noteworthy considering males are generally more involved in physical activities in Kenya. The study highlights that all teachers have qualifications above the minimum P-1 certificate level set by the Teacher Service Commission (TSC), with 56% holding a diploma, 38% a degree, and nearly 6% a postgraduate qualification. Additionally, all teachers are trained in special education, with 55.88% having a diploma, 38.24% an undergraduate degree, and 5.88% a postgraduate degree in special education, underscoring the importance of specialized training. Over 85% of these teachers have more than 16 years of experience, emphasizing the significance of experience in delivering quality education. The study suggests a higher representation of women in teaching roles at the primary level due to their nurturing nature, benefiting young children. It also underscores the crucial role of teacher training in building confidence and effective teaching, with qualifications and experience significantly impacting the quality of education provided.
Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study concludes that the TSC recruits qualified, experienced, and self-driven teachers, ensuring a fundamental infrastructure for delivering quality physical education to visually impaired learners. However, it calls for further studies to explore teaching practices, instructional resources, and institutional support to enhance the overall learning environment. Overall, the research highlights the importance of specialized training and support for teachers in providing effective physical education to visually impaired students, echoing the findings of previous studies
