Effectiveness of UK Legislation and Management in Producing Nature Conservation Outcomes: a Case Study of the Purbeck Heaths
Data from personal communications were used to form prior beliefs for the Bayesian Belief Networks and determine the probability of various outcomes for designated features within the Purbeck Heath National Nature Reserve
Study 3 data (Chapter 6) for online eye-tracking between real and fake news (dwell time).
Participants were asked to view examples of real and fake news taken from a news fact-checking website, Snopes, and their eye movements were recorded during the process. Participants were recruited through Prolific and SONA, total sample size for study 1.1 = 29 participants, and total for study 1.2 = 25 participants, after removing poor eye-tracking data. A total of five visual images comprising of true and false news were shown to the participant, study 1.1 had three examples and study 1.2 had two examples. There were two main cultural backgrounds in focus; participants born in China or in the United Kingdom
Data of Thermal Alteration of Animal Long Bone Microstructure
This is the raw data from the measurements of varying species of animal long bones microstructures after varying known temperatures of burning in different burn conditions.
Along with this there is also macroscopic data, i.e. colour and temperatures and times of burns

The composition of concert music within the Digital Audio Workstation environment - musical scores and recordings
This research project includes a portfolio of compositions and a contextual document, the subject of which is the Digital Audio Workstation as a human computer interface for the composition of concert music, intended for live performance. The portfolio of compositions consists of the music notation and audio recordings of five works, composed by the researcher within the context of the research project: Variances for jazz guitar, piano, percussion and indeterminate ensemble; Rapprochement for microtonal ensemble; Transits for bass flute, eight voices and electronics; Shutterspeed for clarinet and soundtrack; and Fossils for piano and live electronics. For each of the works, a distinct DAW-based concept and compositional approach has been developed and employed. The contextual document investigates the implications of the DAW for the composition of concert music, and discusses the five portfolio compositions against the background of practices of selected composers; the history and development of the analogue studio, early computer and DAW composition; aspects of device interaction; and the topic of 'liveness'
Driven by digital innovations. Regulating connected car data access and use, for Telematics Insurance in Europe - interview notes
The topic of this research is whether the European Union (EU) legal and regulatory framework is fit for purpose in relation to the take-up of telematics insurance. As an example of use-based insurance, telematics insurance is made possible by continuing advancements in data analytics and sensor technologies as well as the shift in the automotive industry towards the development of a business ecosystem around the connected car and value proposition that user-generated car data brings.
The research has been enriched with and guided by the insights from experts and practitioners to identify the key issues and potential solutions concerning the fitness of regulation to help improve the adoption of telematics insurance in Europe. The main motivation for conducting interviews was to obtain a working knowledge of telematics insurance and the automotive and insurance industry and the connected car and consumer motor car insurance markets as a whole.57 The interviews further provided the opportunity to obtain in-depth knowledge about the interviewees’ respective industries for consideration, especially when it comes to balancing the different interests and market characteristics of the automotive and insurance industry respectively
Biomechanical Effects of Manual Therapy in Patients with Acute Non-specific Low Back Pain - A Feasibility Study
The data set relates to the PhD entitled: Biomechanical Effects of Manual Therapy in Patients with Acute Non-specific
Low Back Pain - A Feasibility Study.
The data set explores the Quantitative Fluoroscopy data for a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) exploring the biomechanical effects of Manual Therapy. The two groups included in the trial were manual therapy (n=7) and non-manual therapy (n=7). NOTE: The trial numbers were reduced due to COVID-19 pandemic
Unlocking the Severn: acoustic - tagged shad and sea lamprey dataset 2018-2020
All detections, receiver locations, receiver deployment details and animal details from acoustic tagged shad and sea lamprey tracked as part of Unlocking the Severn, 2018-202
Self-Compassion, Coping Strategies and Gender Differences
The study for which this dataset was collected, investigated self-compassion’s ability to predict approach and avoidance coping in psychology, counselling and psychotherapy practitioners (PCPPs) during COVID-19, and whether this differed between genders.
319 PCPPs completed an online survey including the Brief COPE (Carver, 1997) and Self-Compassion Short Form (Raes et al., 2011)
SPLASH study dataset: exploring caregiver perspectives of adults with severe and profound and multiple learning disabilities accessing sedentary hydrotherapy
This dataset contains both the caregiver questionnaire data and the transcript data originally collected for SPLASH Study: exploring caregiver perspectives of adults with Severe and Profound and multiple Learning disabilities Accessing Sedentary Hydrotherapy.
While the caregiver questionnaires provide contextual data, the transcripts arise from virtual semi-structured interviews, facilitated by a topic guide underpinned by the World Health Organization's ICF framework (2001) which covered biopsychosocial topics including: health, function, welfare, connections, support and night-time. Access to hydrotherapy was also a persistent topic and as these interviews took place during the Covid-19 pandemic they also feature caregiver perspectives relating to how the pandemic impacted on their care-receiver's access to hydrotherapy and any subsequent perceived impacts.
A convenience sample of 23 self-selected volunteer caregivers was recruited through public advertising and a charity gatekeeper. Twenty-three caregivers participated in the study: five family caregivers, nine health-professionals, eight paid caregivers and one volunteer caregiver
