Tévképzetek a pedagógiai gyakorlatban: a többségi pedagógusok és a gyógypedagógusok ismeretei és lehetőségei a természettudományos tévképzetek kapcsán
Background and aims: In this study, we examine the knowledge and practices of mainstream teachers and special education teachers regarding misconceptions in science. A similar study has already been conducted among mainstream teachers in Hungary (Malmos, 2014), but not yet among special education teachers.Method: In the study, we used a questionnaire we compiled ourselves to examine the knowledge of mainstream teachers and special education teachers about misconceptions and the methods they use to identify misconceptions. The data obtained were analysed using SPSS software. Results: According to our results, the majority of teachers have encountered misconceptions in their work. We also obtained answers to the question of what opportunities and knowledge teachers have for identifying misconceptions among their students. Conclusions: The research highlights the importance of correcting misconceptions and offers suggestions for reducing their number. Keywords: special needs teachers, mainstream teachers, misconceptions, natural sciencesHáttér és célok: Jelen kutatásban a többségi pedagógusok és a gyógypedagógusok természettudományos tévképzetekkel kapcsolatos ismereteit, feltárására vonatkozó gyakorlatait vizsgáljuk.

Paris, a hős
This study examines the concept of the hērōs through one of the Iliad’s less conventional characters, Paris. Although Paris is often portrayed as cowardly, sensual, and ineffective, several passages in the poem challenge this interpretation: his divine descent, acts of martial bravery, and narrative significance mark him as more than a passive figure. The analysis argues that Paris embodies an ambivalent form of heroism, illustrating how the Iliad problematizes the very ideal it constructs. Heroism here is not reducible to triumphant warfare; it lies at the intersection of divine favor, individual agency, and narrative function. The paper thus contributes to a more nuanced understanding of Iliadic heroism and highlights the poem’s poetic and ideological complexity.
Perseus, a szatírgyerek: A mindennapiság diszkrét bája Aischylos Hálóhúzók című szatírdrámájában
This study reconstructs the figure of young Perseus in Aeschylus’ lost satyr play Net-Haulers, drawing on fragmentary texts and visual evidence. Through a combination of philological and iconographic analysis, it argues that the satyr play employed grotesque and playful representations of childhood to reconfigure mythological heroes within a comedic mode. The satyric child figure, simultaneously divine and ridiculous, destabilizes the boundary between mythical grandeur and everyday mundanity. The paper explores the theatrical and cultural implications of this duality and suggests that the effectiveness of such representations depended heavily on the audience’s visual literacy and familiarity with mythological codes.A tanulmány Aischylos elveszett Hálóhúzók című szatírdrámájának töredékei és vizuális forrásai alapján rekonstruálja a cselekmény középpontjában álló gyermeki Perseus alakját. Az ikonográfiai és filológiai elemzés arra világít rá, hogy a szatírdráma egyes mitológiai hősök gyermekkorának groteszk és játékos ábrázolásával él, s ezzel újfajta színházi humort hoz létre. A szatíros gyermekfigura a mitológiai világ és a mindennapiság közötti határ elmosására szolgál: egyszerre jelenik meg isteni küldetés hordozójaként és bohókás színpadi szereplőként. A tanulmány e kettősség színházi és kulturális funkcióit vizsgálja, s rámutat arra, hogy a közönség vizuális műveltsége kulcsszerepet játszott e jelentésrétegek működtetésében
Lákis – egy vaskori júdai gazdaságtörténet lehetőségei
This article explores the economic history of Iron Age Lachish (8th–7th centuries BCE), examining how the city functioned within the administrative and economic framework of the Kingdom of Judah. Drawing on recent archaeological discoveries and written sources, the study focuses on agriculture, olive oil production, and the role of literacy. It emphasizes the importance of micro-level economic analysis in reshaping our understanding of how the Judahite state operated within the complex sociopolitical environment of the southern Levant.
This article examines the legal and social background of demolition prohibitions in cities of the Roman Empire. Drawing on imperial legal texts and epigraphic evidence, it analyzes how municipal and state authorities sought to prevent the unwarranted destruction of both public and private buildings. These restrictions were driven not only by aesthetic or heritage concerns but also by economic interests and the need to maintain public order. The study highlights how protecting the built environment was closely linked to preserving the identity and functional integrity of the urban community.
Monitoring and identifying insect pests in museum practice: IPM experiences at the Hungarian National GalleryThe status of silverfish in the environment of artefacts and the appearance of a new alien pest species in Hungary
The concept of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) was adapted from agriculture and the food industry to ensure more effective protection against pests in museums and various cultural institutions. IPM involves a holistic approach to address all pest problems collectively, rather than managing each issue separately. This strategy aims to prevent problems and crises by taking proactive actions and measures. The first IPM programme in the Hungarian National Gallery was launched in 2019, focusing on testing materials and methods for monitoring and detecting pests. Collaboration between different departments, from building management to conservators, and a comprehensive knowledge of the building and storage areas are essential for successful IPM strategies. Identifying potential entry points for pests within the building and areas that may attract pests is vital. Integrated pest management offers solutions for both vertebrate and invertebrate pests. For cost-effectiveness and sustainability, custom-made sticky traps were created using recycled cardboard and double-sided adhesive. Periodic monitoring and documentation of trapped insects are essential for evaluating the effectiveness of IPM strategies. Microscopic examination of pests is essential for identifying pests. The results of the four-year IPM programme at the Hungarian National Gallery revealed the most common pests and helped prioritise areas for intervention. Continuous improvement and adaptation of IPM strategies are necessary, especially with the emergence of new invasive species due to climate change. In 2024, a new species was identified in the Hungarian fauna, underlining the importance of IPM, especially insect trapping. While encountering various arthropods in museum settings, not all pose actual harm to artefacts. The number of known species in Hungary fluctuates due to globalisation processes such as trade, increased tourism, and climate change. Previously unknown invasive arthropods may appear in local collections, potentially unrecognised as pests, as exemplified by the appearance of the long-tailed silverfish (Ctenolepisma longicaudatum) in Hungary.Newly emerging pest species are typically synanthropic, thriving near humans. The temperature-controlled urban environment facilitates the establishment of animals not adapted to the region’s climate. The expanding distribution of the siverfish is attributed to its ability to tolerate lower temperatures and relative humidity levels. While numerous in the Zygentoma order, only a few species are addressed as museum pests in Europe. The species appearing in Hungary belong to two families: Lepismatidae and Nicoletiidae.Although the presence of native and introduced pest species in museum environments is nearly unavoidable, their establishment can be minimised with a systematic and preventative IPM strategy
