Celebration: The Animating Force Behind Life
Get PDFOver the years, men have lived in the darkness of the meaninglessness of existence. They ask questions that centre on the meaning of life. Hence, one hears questions like: Why life? Is there any reason to live? Is life enjoyable? Is there any reason to celebrate life? These questions came from frustrated minds that have been fed with the wrong information about human existence. Here, he is tutored that life is a game of completion and comparison! He is told that man is on earth just to seek for fame and power! He is taught that happiness lays on material acquisition! He is told that money is the end and not the means for life! Here, man is given the false impression that there is destination which everyone is striving to reach! Hence, man is alienated from himself which is the source of life from where he gets the purest of joy for existence and enters into endless struggle till death. Hence, in spite of all that man acquire, he never celebrates his life for he believed that there is a destination for life, where he will reach and starts showing off his ego, fame and power to the whole world; not knowing that life is a process, a verb and an action, it has no destination which is why it is called existence. Therefore, this work takes the reader to himself, to understand the core of human existence by giving a philosophical analysis on the following themes: Living for the moment, Giving thanks, Celebrate your meal table. Examination of the Appropriateness of the Age of School Children in Primary Schools of Rivers State, Nigeria
Get PDFThis is a descriptive survey that looked at children in primary schools of Rivers State, Nigeria, to determine the age of the pupils and their appropriateness. A total of Twenty-one thousand, three hundred and sixty-five (21,365) pupils were randomly selected from all the local government areas of the state. The study had two research questions and they were to find out what the age of school children in primary schools of Rivers State and to determine if the age of primary school children in Rivers State was appropriate. The result of the study showed that children in primary schools in Rivers State are generally younger than the stipulated age for most classes; they are being enrolled into the primary school far too young. It discovered that there were children as young as 2 and 3 years enrolled in primary schools. The conclusion was that schools and parents are not adhering to the stipulations of the National Policy on Education in enrolling children in schools. Improving Agrotechnology Student Papers: A Call For Enhanced Writing and Analysis
Get PDFThis study aimed to measure the quality of student papers in the Agrotechnology Study Program at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta and assess their potential for publication in scientific journals. Questionnaires were given to lecturers to gather data based on high standard criteria for scientific journal publishing. Results showed that 65% of respondents believed that student papers could be published in scientific journals. Additionally, 70% of respondents noted that the papers had novelty value, contributed to science, technology and knowledge, addressed urgent problems, and had a formulated conclusion. However, the writing quality needs improvement according to 61% of the respondents. Furthermore, 65% of respondents assessed that the papers lacked depth in analysis and synthesis. In addition, only 50-80% of the references used were primary and latest references. These findings suggest that Agrotechnology Study Program student papers need improvement in writing, analysis, and the use of primary and latest references to meet the high standards of scientific journal publication
