Experimental Study on the Effect of Detonability and Shock Intensity on Detonation Initiation in Laser Ignition in Elliptical Cavity
International audienceFocusing a spherical shock wave formed by laser ignition in an elliptical cavity can initiate detonation. To clarify the effect of the detonability of premixture and shock intensity on detonation onset, laser ignition experiments were conducted with stoichiometric ethylene–oxygen premixture at the initial pressure of 5–200 kPa and laser emission energy of 50–150 mJ. The flow field was visualized by high-speed schlieren imaging. As a result, four different types of flow field were observed: moderate initiation, rapid initiation, general flame acceleration, and shock-only flow field. In the moderate initiation case, shock-flame complexes engulfed the leading shock wave and collided to cause a local explosion. In higher initial pressure, rapid detonation onset was observed when a local explosion occurred behind the leading shock. In the failed cases, although the initial shock, the reflected shock, and the combustion wave were observed, except in the shock-only case, a local explosion did not occur after the triple-points’ collision. Each case was classified as success or failure, and the success/failure distribution was compared with the critical energy of direct detonation initiation
Nanoplast experimental set-up
International audienceThe NANOPLAST program was launched in 2008 through a French national research agency (ANR) program. The aim of this project was the development of an experimental set-up allowing to follow in situ via scanning probe microscopy (AFM / STM) the evolution of the surface of materials under variable stress and at different temperatures. Since 2012, the Nanoplast set-up is open to scientific collaborations

Psychothérapie d’un patient pédophile. Dysrégulations pulsionnelles et leurs destins transférentiels
International audienceThe aim of this article is to present the case of a “pedophile” patient and to examine the transferential and therapeutic implications. Based on the case of a patient being treated in a prison care unit, we will present the difficulties and therapeutic levers in his care trajectory. The aim was to analyze the instinctual dysregulations initially described by Ciavaldini in clinical work with perpetrators of sexual violence, and to analyze their specific features in the light of the transferential movements at work in the care of a patient who has committed pedophilic acts. This article illustrates the way in which the crushing of generations associated with a particularly traumatic entry into sexuality seems to have initiated a libidinal fixation on a partial, specular sexuality, covering up major narcissistic flaws, still maintained at the time of our meetings by a massive family denial.
Contributions of reading self-concept, intrinsic motivation, and reading value to sixth graders’ purposeful reading: the mediating role of the task model
International audienceThis study explores the relationships between sixth graders' motivation for purposeful reading, their task understanding skills, and their comprehension of written texts. More specifically, we investigated the role of students' understanding of reading tasks as a mediator of the relationships between reading self-concept, intrinsic reading motivation, reading value, and comprehension performance. Two hundred thirty-one sixth graders completed a purposeful reading motivation questionnaire, four tasks assessing their understanding of reading tasks, and four tasks assessing their comprehension of written texts. Intrinsic motivation and self-concept predicted comprehension performance but did not predict task-modeling skills. Mediation analyses showed that task-modeling skills only mediated the relationship between reading value and comprehension performance. The contributions of various dimensions of adolescents' motivation for reading and their taskmodeling skills to their reading comprehension are discussed in light of current models of purposeful reading
