Sports Marketing: An Australian Perspective
168 p.Sports marketing refers to promoting goods and services through sporting events and the endorsement of athletes and sports teams. For any sports organisation, it is imperative to have an effective sports marketing strategy in place to build brand awareness, enhance customer loyalty and generate revenue. Companies in sports use marketing strategies to fulfil their goals, such as attracting more junior players, involving parents, increasing the company's public profile, entertaining spectators, acquiring sponsorships, and securing broadcasting rights deals. This book has been written for sports management students at Western Sydney University for the subject Sports Marketing (BUSM2048) where they will learn general marketing knowledge and theories relevant to the sports industry, such as sponsorship, endorsements, customer experience, pricing and operations. This activity is aligned with SDG4 – Quality Education
Advance in Post-harvest Preservation Technology
296 p.Fruits and vegetables are important sources of nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, and bioactive compounds, and provide many health benefits. However, due to non-optimal post-harvest management, large quantities of fresh or fresh-cut fruits and vegetables experience a decline in their quality and nutritional value before they reach the consumer. This Special Issue covers technologies for the harvesting, handling, and storage of vegetables, including storage strategies such as active packaging, edible coatings, the application of nanotechnology in the post-harvest of vegetable crops, and others, with the aim of improving the shelf-life of fresh and fresh-cut fruits and vegetables

The Persistence of Dance: Choreography as Concept and Material in Contemporary Art
375 p.There is a category of choreographic practice with a lineage stretching back to mid-20th century North America that has re-emerged since the early 1990s: dance as a contemporary art medium. Such work belongs as much to the gallery as does video art or sculpture and is distinct from both performance art and its history as well as from theater-based dance. The Persistence of Dance: Choreography as Concept and Material in Contemporary Art clarifies the continuities and differences between the second-wave dance avant-garde in the 1950s‒1970s and the third-wave starting in the 1990s. Through close readings of key artists such as Maria Hassabi, Sarah Michelson, Boris Charmatz, Meg Stuart, Philipp Gehmacher, Adam Linder, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Shelley Lasica and Latai Taumoepeau, The Persistence of Dance traces the relationship between the third-wave and gallery-based work. Looking at these artists highlights how the discussions and practices associated with “conceptual dance” resonate with the categories of conceptual and post-conceptual art as well as with the critical work on the function of visual art categories. Brannigan concludes that within the current post-disciplinary context, there is a persistence of dance and that a model of post-dance exists that encompasses dance as a contemporary art medium
Analysis of Crop Genetic and Germplasm Diversity
534 p.Plant genetic resources are the basis for the genetic improvement of cultivated plants and future food and feed security. The interactions of plants with their agrosystem, the influence of different cropping systems, and the resistance of crops to biotic and abiotic stresses, as well as the adaptation of plants to different environmental conditions under the current changing conditions, are relevant aspects. Agricultural biodiversity is the diversity of crops and their wild relatives, trees, animals, microbes, and other species relevant to agricultural production. Food and feed biodiversity is crucial to fight malnutrition and diet-related diseases. A diverse diet increases the likelihood of consuming adequate amounts of the full range of nutrients essential to human health. The genetic diversity of several crop species is presented in this publication. This biodiversity was assessed by morphological and agronomical traits and nutritional characters, also including molecular diversity and tolerance/resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses

Comparison of oral efficacy between PPIs and H2RAs in subjects for prevention and monitoring of peptic ulcer-associated recurrence rates from 1985 to 2021: A systematic review and meta-analysis
12 p.Currently, although there are many randomized controlled trials comparing the effectiveness of proton pump inhibitors and H2-antihistamines in relation to peptic ulcer disease, meta-analytical studies on this topic are still limited and conclusions have not come to consensus. Therefore, a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials evaluated by the Cochrane Collaboration tool is essential. From January 1st, 1985, to May 31st, 2022, the study was carried out on three databases: Pubmed, Cochrane, and Embase. Statistics are expressed as odds ratios, with confidence intervals of 95 %, and a random effects model is used. Results: Proton pump inhibitors increase the effectiveness of reatment more than H2-antihistamines. Specifically, on prevention subjects = 0.15 (95 % CI: 0.05-0.44), patients who are monitored for relapse rates without medication = 0.92 (95 % CI: 0.75-1.14), and with medication = 0.50 (95 % CI: 0.31-0.80). In conclusion, proton pump inhibitors are the first-line medicine for ulcer prevention and post-healing monitoring

Study on determination of PAEs in water samples by using solid phase extraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry
7 p.Phthalic acid diesters (PAEs) are industrial chemicals used as plasticizers in a variety of commercial products. Due to wide usage, PAEs have been found in various environments and their human exposure risks have also attracted a lot of concerns. However, little information about the distributions of PAEs in the water samples collected from Vietnam was reported. In this study, the method for the determination of nine typical PAEs in water samples by using the solid phase extraction (SPE) combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technique was optimized. The method detection limits (MDLs) and method quantitation limits (MQLs) of PAEs in water samples were in ranges of 0.2–0.4 ng/L and (0.6-1.2) ng/L, respectively. The recoveries of surrogate compounds in blank and real samples ranged from (74.8 to 93.9) %, with RSD < 9.2 %. The calibration curve for all standards was linear over a concentration range of (1.0-1,000) ng/mL (with R2 ≥ 0.998). The total concentrations of PAEs measured in bottled water of six brands were ranged from 10.0 ng/L to 6,690 ng/L. Among the studied PAEs, di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) was found at the highest frequencies and concentrations. Overall, the distribution of PAEs in plastic bottled water is significantly lower than the permitted regulations (only with DEHP) in drinking water by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam in 2011
