This study examines the challenges Nigerian commercial banks face in implementing work-life balance (WLB) policies, which are crucial for boosting employee well-being and productivity. Three main challenges emerged: infrastructural, cultural, and managerial resistance. Infrastructural issues like inadequate transportation, unreliable power, and poor internet connectivity limit employees\u27 ability to leverage flexible work options, especially in urban hubs like Lagos and Abuja. Culturally, the traditional Nigerian work ethic emphasizes long hours and high commitment, creating pressure on employees to deprioritize personal needs, often stigmatizing those who seek balance. Managerial resistance further complicates WLB policy implementation, as many managers view these initiatives as potentially detrimental to productivity, often due to a lack of understanding of WLB benefits and inadequate training. This resistance restricts the effectiveness of WLB policies by depriving employees of necessary support. The findings underscore the need for Nigerian banks to address these barriers by fostering a culture that values balance, ultimately promoting a healthier work environment and enhancing organisational performance. Embracing WLB policies could lead to a more satisfied and productive workforce, benefiting both employees and the organisation
