Der Einfluss von hybridem Unterricht auf die Lernzielerreichung
No full textDie vorliegende Studie untersucht die Auswirkungen verschiedener Unterrichtsmodi (Online vs. Präsenz) auf die Lernzielerreichung von Studierenden. In einem hybriden Lehrumfeld wurden Daten zu Anwesenheit und Prüfungsleistungen von Studierenden im Fach »Financial Accounting« an der Hochschule für Wirtschaft der Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz gesammelt. Dabei wurden zwei Hauptforschungsfragen betrachtet: der Vergleich der Gesamtleistung der Gruppen zwischen Online- und Präsenzteilnehmenden sowie die Analyse der individuellen Leistung der Studierenden in Themen, bei denen sie entweder online oder in Präsenz teilnahmen. Um möglichst viele Hintergrundvariablen wie beispielsweise Motivation auszuschließen, wurden die Studierenden zufällig in die beiden Gruppen eingeteilt. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass kein signifikanter Unterschied in der Gesamtleistung zwischen den beiden Unterrichtsmodi besteht

No full textAs of 2025, the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) use SynPop, a partly synthesized dataset combining demographic, socio-economic, and spatial data from sources like STATPOP and STATENT, for its transport modeling. Developed with ARE, SynPop supports mobility simulations and strategic planning, including the 2050 National Transport Perspectives. In the past, previous efforts to apply k-Anonymity yielded mixed results. While access to these datasets currently requires a form of NDA, the long-term goal is to enable unrestricted public access
Corynebacterium rouxii in a free-roaming red fox: case report and historical review on diphtheria in animals
No full textWe reported previously the finding of a non-toxigenic C. diphtheriae biovar belfanti strain in a free-roaming red fox (Vulpes vulpes). Recently, mainly based on Whole Genome Sequencing data the C. diphtheriae species complex was broadened, i.e. in the C. diphtheriae branch by the two novel species C. belfantii and C. rouxii. According to novel sequence data the reported isolate from the fox has to be re-classified as C. rouxii. An updated review on both C. diphtheriae and C. rouxii in animals is given

An investigation into the encounter between social robots and animals
No full textIncreasingly, social robots and certain service robots encounter, whether this is planned or not, domestic, farm, or wild animals. They react differently, some interested, some disinterested, some lethargic, some panicked. Research needs to turn more to animalrobot relationships, and to work with engineers to design these relationships in ways that promote animal welfare and reduce animal suffering. This chapter is about social robots that are designed for animals, but also those that-for different, rather unpredictable reasons-meet, interact, and communicate with animals. It also considers animal-friendly machines that have emerged in the context of machine ethics. In the discussion section, the author explores the question of which of the presented robots are to be understood as social robots and what their differences are in their purpose and in their relationship to animals. No full textIn meiner Bachelor-Arbeit habe ich untersucht, wie Schmuckgestaltung für Menschen ohne Vorerfahrung zugänglich gemacht werden kann. Ausgehend von meiner eigenen Entwicklung als Schmuckgestalter habe ich ein offenes Werkstattformat entworfen, das Besucher:innen dazu einlud, eigene Schmuckstücke zu gestalten. An verschiedenen Stationen – vom Modellieren mit kinetischem Sand oder Wachs bis zum Gestalten von Perlenketten – konnten Teilnehmende experimentieren und individuelle Entwürfe umsetzen. Die so entstandenen Modelle wurden mithilfe digitaler Technologien wie 3D-Scanning und -Druck weiterverarbeitet und im Lost-Wax-Casting-Verfahren in Silber gegossen. Ziel war es, Hemmschwellen abzubauen, kreative Prozesse zu fördern und die emotionale Bindung zu Schmuckstücken durch aktive Mitgestaltung zu stärken.https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11806/data/NextGen25-vud0eyg
