Wake Forest Basketball 1993-1994
The 1993-1994 Wake Forest University Men’s Basketball Media Guide is an in-depth publication produced by the Wake Forest University Sports Information Office to provide comprehensive coverage of the Demon Deacons men’s basketball program. The guide highlights the team's recent success, including three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and a Sweet Sixteen berth in 1993. It includes detailed team and player profiles, with returning stars such as Randolph Childress and Trelonnie Owens and newcomers like future NBA great Tim Duncan. Head Coach Dave Odom, recognized multiple times for his leadership, is featured prominently, along with his coaching staff and their collective efforts to maintain the program's momentum. The program also outlines the season’s outlook, previous season statistics, historical records, and media logistics for the 1993–94 campaign. Additional content includes extensive information on Wake Forest University, its athletic history, and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC)
Cheng, Alyssa (Audio Interview and Transcript)
Interview conducted as part of HST372 Queer Public Histories (Professor Tivia Collins). This oral history interview is with Alyssa Cheng from Lakeville, Minnesota. The interview explores Cheng's background as a pansexual and queer individual, who moved to Winston-Salem to attend Wake Forest University. A large portion of the conversation focuses on the differences between Minnesota and North Carolina in terms of their hospitality to queer people. Cheng expresses her feelings toward the LGBTQ+ Center at Wake Forest, as well as the theater department, which she says have been a crucial part of her experience. She reflects on her involvement in those spaces as well as her own personal experiences, giving helpful advice to younger members of the queer community
