SENATOR KASSEBAUM TO ADDRESS AGNES SCOTT GRADUATES 
(Decatur, GA) Sen. Nancy Landon Kassebaum (R-Kan) will address Agnes Scott College 
graduates at the college's 107th Commencement at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, on the college's 
Presser Quadrangle in Decatur, Georgia. 
Kassebaum, who is serving her third term in the U. S. Senate, chairs the Labor and Human 
Resources Committee and has been a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations 
since 1980. 
"An Agnes Scott education prepares women for global leadership through a challenging 
liberal arts curriculum and programs like our Atlanta Semester, a program focusing on issues of 
women, leadership and social change. Senator Kassebaum is widely admired as a political leader 
in both domestic and foreign policy issues and is an excellent example of the kind ofleadership 
we're building," said Agnes Scott College President Mary Brown Bullock. 
Agnes Scott will graduate approximately 100 students with Bachelor of Arts degrees and 
will award 16 Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary English degrees. 
Agnes Scott College, founded in 1889, is a national, independent liberal arts college for 
women. It offers a variety of courses ranging from art and classical languages to economics, 
physics and astronomy. The school, ranked by U S. News and World Report as one of the 
nation's top ten women's colleges, offers an innovative hands-on curriculum through such 
programs as the Atlanta Semester, a program of women, leadership and social change, and Global 
Awareness, providing students with opportunities to study abroad.
