Ohio Canal Signpost No. 2 Canal Basin Lock 43 1
One color negative of Cuyahoga Valley Canal Days' Ohio Canal signpost No. 2 which is for the Canal Basin and Lock 43 on the Ohio and Erie Canal in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The sign includes a map to the right and text to the left. The text states: ""Merwin's Basin, named for early settler Noble Merwin. Canal boats entered basin through Lock 43 and unloaded cargo. Warehouses and docks lined the basin, 200 feet long and 150 feet wide. Dry docks were on the canal south of lock 43."

Edward E. Scarr Memorial
One color negative of a memorial consisting of a plaque mounted to a stone for Edward E. Scarr, 1874-1962. The plaque states,:""A humble American with vision and appreciation of historical values of the area, and their future potential to this community. Settled in Coshocton County in the year of 1900. The former owner of this ground, Mr. Scarr bought acres along each side of the Erie Canal including all ground to the Walhonding River or approximately 5.56 acres. He preserved its virgin timber, thereby, helped to create the 1000 acre park. A builder of the hilltop country club, he founded lake park with F.D. Johns as manager. Donated by friends of Clara G. and Clarence E. Scarr as required in deed to foundation and city of Coshocton, Ohio."
