Semantična prozodija. Leksikalni in besedilno-diskurzivni vidiki
Get PDFThe monograph focuses on corpus analysis of texts, exploring the interface between lexical and discursive aspects of pragmatic meaning. As the concept of evaluation is key to understanding how language works, our aim is to shed light on semantic prosody – a traditionally neglected evaluation-related phenomenon in Slovenian linguistics – as shown in some specific areas of applied linguistics, especially lexicography and translation. The locus of this phenomenon, which determines the pragmatic function of a unit of meaning, is in the textual, not the lexical meaning. This poses a challenge to modern lexicography. The introduction is followed by a brief outline of the history of pragmatic research and an analysis of selected lexical units, while in the second part of the book pragmatic aspects of textual and discursive analysis, including evaluation and metaphor, are presented. The importance of semantic prosody for linguistics is confirmed by tradition, as well as by insights in many areas closely related to language and interpretation of meaning, such as digitization and (language) technology, media discourse and policy, or law.Monografija se usmerja v korpusno analizo besedil, ki kaže, kje se stikajo oziroma prepletajo leksikalni in diskurzivni vidiki pragmatičnega pomena. Pojem vrednotenja je ključen za razumevanje, kako jezik deluje, zato smo želeli s posebnim poudarkom na pojavu, imenovanem semantična prozodija, osvetliti to, v slovenskem prostoru tradicionalno zapostavljeno temo, kot se kaže na nekaterih specifičnih področjih uporabnega jezikoslovja, posebej v leksikografiji in prevodoslovju. Lokus tega pojava, ki določa pragmatično funkcijo pomenske enote, je v besedilnem, ne leksikalnem pomenu, kar predstavlja izziv za sodobne leksikografske opise. Prvi del knjige sestavljajo poleg uvoda krajši zgodovinski oris pragmatičnih jezikovnih teorij in izbrane leksikalne analize, v drugem delu sledi navezava na pragmatične vidike besedilne oziroma diskurzivne analize, na vrednotenje in metaforo, ob koncu pojav osvetlimo še v medjezični perspektivi. Pomen raziskovanja semantične prozodije za jezikoslovje potrjuje tradicija, pa tudi spoznanja na mnogih področjih, ki so tesno povezana z jezikom in interpretacijo pomena, denimo digitalizacija in tehnologije, medijske politike in vsebine ali pravo(sodje)

No full textThe publication publishes excursions of the Ljubljana Geographical Society, carried out between April 2015 and May 2019. If we break down individual contributions according to their main characteristics, we can point out some interesting findings. Let us first mention their concentration in the western part of Slovenia. Southwestern Slovenia stands out as an area of strong regional dominance, with the participants taking advantage of two excursions to the wide-open state border with Italy, created by Slovenia's entry into the Schengen area. The variety of excursions according to the method of implementation is also noticeable. As a rule, classic bus transport is enriched by walking. Completely different logistics were needed to carry out a cycling excursion through the Slovenian and Italian Karst. There is a continuing tendency for geographical knowledge to increasingly complement the content of other disciplines, especially archeology and ethnology, which certainly enriches excursions due to a different view of the landscape and emphases that geographers usually ignore or do not know much about.V publikaciji so objavljene ekskurzije Ljubljanskega geografskega društva, izvedene med aprilom 2015 in majem 2019. Če posamezne prispevke skušamo razčleniti po njihovih poglavitnih značilnostih, lahko izpostavimo nekaj zanimivih spoznanj. Naj najprej izpostavimo njihovo osredotočenost v zahodnem delu Slovenije. Kot območje izrazite regionalne prevlade izstopa jugozahodna Slovenija, pri čemer so udeleženci kar dveh ekskurzij s pridom izkoristili na široko razprto državno mejo z Italijo, nastalo z vstopom Slovenije v šengensko območje. Zaznavna je tudi raznovrstnost ekskurzij glede na način izvedbe. Klasične avtobusne prevoze praviloma popestri pešačenje. Povsem drugačna logistika je bila potrebna za izvedbo kolesarske ekskurzije po slovenskem in italijanskem Krasu. Nadaljuje se težnja, da geografska spoznanja v vse večji meri dopolnjujejo vsebine drugih disciplin, predvsem arheologije in etnologije, kar ekskurzije zagotovo bogati tako zaradi drugačnega videnja pokrajine kot poudarkov, ki jih geografi na svojih poteh navadno prezremo ali o njih ne vemo prav veliko
Manjša rimska naselja na slovenskem prostoru / Minor Roman settlements in Slovenia
Get PDFThe book discusses the minor settlements that dotted the territory of present-day Slovenia in the Roman period. This geographically diverse territory was crossed by important lines of communication and divided between three large administrative units of the Roman state: Italy and the provinces of Noricum and Upper Pannonia. Twenty-six authors wrote contributions on individual settlements in a comprehensive and clear manner roughly following a common concept. The presentation of each settlement opens with its location and name in Antiquity, possible habitation traces from prehistory, mentions in ancient literary texts and documents, and recovered epigraphic evidence. The next, main part offers an overview of the archaeological remains from the Roman period: topography, infrastructure, buildings, cemeteries and portable remains of particular significance. This is followed by the information on the status of a settlement, social standing of its inhabitants, their administrative or military functions, as well as professional or ethnical background. All is brought together in an outline of the historical development of each settlement.Monografija je posvečena manjšim rimskim naseljem, ki ležijo na območju današnje Slovenije, kamor so segale tri velike upravne enote rimske države: Italija ter provinci Norik in Zgornja Panonija. V samostojnih poglavjih je zgoščeno in po skupnem konceptu predstavljenih dvajset naselij različnega tipa in stopnje raziskanosti. Podatki so umeščeni v prostor, podprti s kartami in načrti, vsebinsko primerljivi in jasno ovrednoteni. Vsako poglavje vsebuje podatke o legi naselja in njegovem antičnem imenu, kratko zgodovino raziskav, morebitno obljudenost lokacije v prazgodovini, predstavitev antičnih literarnih virov in epigrafskih spomenikov. Osrednji del je usmerjen v pregled arheoloških ostankov rimske dobe: v topografijo, infrastrukturo, stavbe, grobišča in premične ostanke posebnega pomena. Sledijo podatki o statusu naselja, o družbenem položaju posameznih prebivalcev, njihovih administrativnih ali vojaških funkcijah, poklicih in etnični pripadnosti. Amandus Ivančič: Simfonije za dve violini in bas / Symphonies for Two Violins and Bass
Get PDFAmandus Ivanschiz (in Slovenian literature “Ivančič”) belongs to a group of today little known 18th-century composers. He was, however, in his own time all over Central Europe well known and largely copied monastic composer. Around 100 compositions survived to this date in various copies now preserved in Slovenian, Croatian, Austrian, Czech, etc. archives. However, only a few of his compositions are available to modern performers. In volume 3 of the Monumenta artis musicae Sloveniae series are published three “Simphoniae” for two violins and bass, i.e. triosonatas, typical for Viennese musical circles of the 1750s and 1760s. The music is accompanied by an introductory presentation of the composer’s works as well as by a New Introduction and Corrigenda by Maciej Jochymczyk bringing to the reader’s attention new information on father Amandus and corrigenda of the earlier edition.Amandus Ivanschiz (Ivančič) sodi med danes manj znane skladatelje 18. stoletja, čeprav je bil v svojem času razmeroma močno prisoten v srednjeevropskem glasbenem prostoru. O tem priča ok. 100 njegovih skladb, ki so se v prepisih ohranile širom srednje Evrope: v slovenskih, hrvaških, avstrijskih in čeških arhivih. Izvajalcem in raziskovalcem glasbene kulture je še vedno dostopen le majhen del njegovega opusa. Tretji zvezek zbirke MAMS v sodobni notni izdaji prinaša tri Ivančičeve »simfonije« za dve violini in bas oz. triosonate, kakršne so bile značilne za dunajske skladateljske kroge 50-ih in 60-ih letih 18. stoletja. Zvezek je opremljen z uvodno študijo o življenju in delih patra Amandusa ter z novim uvodom Macieja Jochymczyka, ki prinaša novosti o skladatelju in popravke zgodnejšega vedenja

Get PDFThis is a very dull book. Like a dictionary, it contains only facts: facts that are not readily to be found elsewhere. People who are important in the study of caves and karst are known for what they did, what they wrote and whom they influenced. But as individuals they are often no more than a name. They may perhaps be recognized for other aspects, as a King perhaps, or a novelist or a famous doctor. Some, like Darwin or Freud, have changed the world in other ways; but very many had only normal quiet lives during which they also explored, studied or wrote about caves. It is they whose wider lives are difficult to trace and it is 4634 of them who are recorded here, with information from birth certificates, obituaries, unpublished letters and mentions by other people. It is their wider lives that help to show them as real people. In some cases their interest in caves was a part of their professional lives. In many others it provides stimulation and relaxation in otherwise busy lives. But in every case it was the same person and the same brain that enjoyed both; and it was both that made them the people they were. It is only from the biographical sources recorded here, that each person can be understood.To je zelo dolgočasna knjiga. Tako kot slovar vsebuje samo dejstva: dejstva, ki jih ni mogoče najti drugje. Ljudje, ki so pomembni za preučevanje jam in krasa, so znani po tem, kaj so počeli, kaj so napisali in na koga so vplivali. Toda večkrat o njih poznamo zgolj ime. Morda o nekaterih vemo tudi kaj več, med njimi so kralji, romanopisci ali zdravniki. Nekateri, denimo Darwin ali Freud, so svet celo spremenili, toda večinoma so imeli le neizstopajoče normalno življenje, med katerim so tudi raziskovali, preučevali ali pisali o jamah. To so tista življenja, o katerih je težko najti kaj več. V knjigi je 4634 gesel, ki vsebujejo podatke iz rojstnih listov, osmrtnic, neobjavljenih pisem in omembe drugih ljudi. Šele ta širši pogled iz njih naredi prave ljudi. V nekaterih primerih je bilo njihovo zanimanje za jame del njihovega poklicnega življenja. V mnogih drugih le spodbuda in sprostitev v sicer napornem življenju. Toda v vsakem primeru so ista oseba in isti možgani uživali oboje; in oboje ju je osebnostno izoblikovalo. Razumemo jih lahko le s pomočjo tukaj zbranih bibliografskih virov

Get PDFThe Urban Diversity Final Publication is a representation of Urban Diversity project that lasted between 2017 and 2020. The project's aim was a creative connection of migrant entrepreneurs and their families in Ljubljana and Graz, and to help encourage and promote diversity in both cities. There are already some support and aid programs for self-employment and business establishment for migrants, however both cities also trace obstacles that abate migrant entrepreneurs from being creative and integrate into the society. These obstacles can be found on different levels, and are not easy to define or remove, while they also represent a large issue for migrant entrepreneurs and the host society, which stuns their potential and its own economic and social progress. The results and achievements in the publication present the good practice of removing social obstacles that already exist elsewhere in Europe.Zaključna publikacija Urban Diversity predstavlja rezultate projekta Urban Diversity, ki je potekal med letoma 2017 in 2020. Namen projekta je bilo kreativno povezovati migrantske podjetnike in njihove družine iz Ljubljane in Gradca ter pripomoči k spodbujanju in promociji raznolikosti v obeh mestih. Mesti sicer imata določene programe podpore in pomoči pri samozaposlovanju in odpiranju podjetij med migranti, vendar pa sta razvili tudi določene ovire, ki migrantske podjetnike ovirajo pri njihovi kreativnosti ter vključevanju v družbo. Te ovire so prisotne na številnih nivojih in jih je razmeroma težko odkriti in odstraniti, predstavljajo pa veliko težavo za migrantske podjetnike ter družbo gostiteljico, ki hromi njihov potencial, s tem pa tudi svoj ekonomski ter družbeni razvoj. Rezultati in dosežki projekta, ki so zbrani v publikaciji, predstavljajo dobre prakse odstranjevanja družbenih ovir, ki drugje v Evropi že obstajajo

Most na Soči. Arheološke raziskave v letih 2000–2016 na levem bregu Idrijce / The 2000–2016 archaeological investigations on the left bank of the Idrijca
Get PDFMost na Soči is an archaeological site of key importance in the Posočje region and also one that witnessed most extensive investigations. Remains of its rich distant past have been coming to light over the last century and a half, either as chance finds or through archaeological excavations of the settlement from the Bronze, Iron and Roman Ages, as well as the associated cemeteries.
This book presents the recent investigations on the left bank of the Idrijca, where a vast Iron Age cemetery has been known since the end of the 19th century. At its northern edge, a total of 88 graves were excavated by the Tolminski muzej in 2000–2016, when three locations were investigated: Pucarjev rob, Repelc and Lipičarjev vrt. Most of the graves date to the Iron Age, a dozen to the Roman period and one to the Early Middle Ages. In their immediate vicinity, a contemporary cremation pit and a stone drywall were discovered, under the graves also habitation remains from the Late Bronze Age.
The content of the book is divided into several sections. The most extensive is the first one, which presents the topographic and stratigraphic evidence, descriptions of graves with their goods and other structures. This is followed by typological, chronological and cultural analyses of the finds. The time span of burial at individual locations and the interpretation of other remains are also given. The conclusion evaluates the differences and changes in the mortuary rituals, the imports from other cultural provinces and the associated connections, as well as the significance of recent discoveries that complement the archaeological knowledge of the area.
The next section of the book comprises treatises on the recovered organic remains. The anthropological analysis of the human bone remains identifies the age and sex of the buried individuals and complements the archaeological considerations. The animal remains and possible interpretations of their symbolic role in the mortuary rituals and cult practices are discussed in detail. The macrobotanic remains are also presented and, similarly as the faunal evidence, are compared with those from select sites of the Posočje Iron Age community, offering an insight into the exploitation of the natural environment of the day.
In the last part of the book, the graves and finds are graphically presented on 72 plates.Most na Soči je ključno in najbolje raziskano arheološko najdišče v Zgornjem Posočju. Njegovo bogato preteklost že več kot poldrugo stoletje razkrivajo naključna odkritja in strokovna izkopavanja tako naselbinskih ostankov iz bronaste, železne in rimske dobe kot tudi pripadajočih grobišč.
V tej knjigi so predstavljena novejša odkritja na levem bregu Idrijce, kjer je že od konca 19. stoletja znano obsežno grobišče iz železne dobe. Na njegovem severnem obrobju je bilo z izkopavanji Tolminskega muzeja v letih 2000–2016 na treh lokacijah – Pucarjev rob, Repelc in Lipičarjev vrt – odkritih skupaj 88 grobov. Največ jih je iz železne dobe, vmes je bilo tudi ducat grobov iz rimske dobe in en iz zgodnjega srednjega veka. V njihovi neposredni bližini so bili odkriti še sočasna žganinska jama in kamnit zidec, pod njimi pa naselbinski ostanki iz pozne bronaste dobe

Get PDFThe historical timeframe of the present monograph ('Five Centuries of Writing Poetry in a Military Uniform and Against it 1515-1918')begins at around 1500, the period in which most of the Slovenian ethnic territory was taken over by the Habsburgs and ends with the defeat of Austro-Hungary during the First World War between 1914–1918. This stretch of time is particularly marked by the first printed lines of the Slovenian rebel poem written during the pan-Slovenian peasant uprising of 1515, which is even older than Trubar's Abecedary and Catechism (1550), and the poem depicting the tragic Judenburg mutiny of 1917 for which the leader of the revolt, Anton Hafner, paid with his life.
While the introductory chapter outlines wartime poetry of the first five centuries, the monograph focuses on a five-year period of the First World War, starting with poems and illustrations of the military drills taking place between 1911 and 1914 in Klagenfurt. Their author, Jernej Petkovšek, was sent to the front in Galicia immediately after the drills, where he tragically lost his life only two months into the war.
Vid Ambrožič spent seven years in military uniform, first as a conscript and later as a soldier, and described his life on the front in approximately 270 poems. From 1917 onwards his poems are permeated with motifs of hunger, which stalked not only the Austro-Hungarian armies but also the Emperor. The final touch is a poem documenting 133 days of the siege of Przemyśl, one of the First World War's longest battles between Austria-Hungary and Russia, which was obtained with the help of the current authors of the collection of Slovenian folk tales Glasovi (“Voices”).
Official statistics reveal around 70 different authors linked to 1000 poems from battlegrounds such as, in alphabetical order: Doberdò del Lago, the Isonzo Front, which took place in southern and eastern Europe, in alphabetical order: Albania, Austria (the Tyrol Front), the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Slovakia.
While the very beginning of the monograph commemorates the end of the First World War, its ending marks the centenary of the violent torching of the National Hall in Trieste, the establishment of the controversial Rapallo border which, for two centuries, divided the Slovenian ethnic territory, and the disastrous Carinthian plebiscite.
The most substantial gain of the period was the Slovene March, nowadays known as the Prekmurje region, joining the former Yugoslavia or, rather, present-day Slovenia.Zgodovinski kontekst pričujoče monografije se nanaša na čas, ko je bila večina slovenskega etničnega ozemlja od okrog leta 1500 do poraza Avstro-Ogrske v prvi svetovni vojni 1914–1918 pod habsburško dinastijo. Uokvirjajo jo prve tiskane vrstice iz slovenske puntarske pesmi v kmečkem uporu leta 1515 do pesmi o tragičnem uporu slovenskih črnovojnikov z Antonom Hafnerjem na čelu v Judenburgu leta 1917. Medtem ko prvo poglavje obravnava pesnjenje na vojne in vojaške teme v petih stoletjih, se drugo omejuje na samo pet let prve svetovne vojne. Nanjo se je odzvalo vsaj 70 različnih avtorjev z okroglo 1000 pesmimi. Njihovo geografsko obzorje sega na bojišča južne in vzhodne Evrope. Med njimi je bil na primer doslej popolnoma spregledan Vid Ambrožič. Zdržema je preživel sedem let v vojaški suknji, tri leta kot nabornik in nato kot vojak v prvi svetovni vojni. Ves čas je zvesto sledil vojnemu dogajanju in o njem napisal okrog 270 pesmi. V njegovih pesmih se kot strašljiv motiv pojavi lakota. Protiutež te pesniške motivike je motiv Slovenske krajine, ki je bila kot današnje Prekmurje priključena prvi Jugoslaviji oziroma ozemlju današnje Slovenije
