In: Studia kinanthropologica : vědecký časopis pro kinantropologii. České Budějovice : Jihočeská univerzita v Českých Budějovicích, 2024. ISSN 1213-2101. Vol. 25, no. 3 (2024), pp. 113-120.The rivalry of triathletes and the effort to push their performance limits forces them to think through their entire preparation in detail, to use time efficiently, to prepare their bodies not only for maximum performance, but also to analyse the occurrence of possible injuries. For this reason, it is necessary to include triathlon diagnostics in the training process which serves as feedback for the triathlete and the coach on how they train and at what performance level they are. Based on this knowledge, the study verifies the impact of strength-endurance training on score changes of Functional Movement Screen of triathletes. The research included 8 performance triathletes from TRIAN ŠK UMB triathlon club Banská Bystrica whose age was 17.26 ± 0.59 years with a body height of 175.8 ± 7.4 cm and a body weight of 63.2 ± 5.8 kg. To obtain information about the triathletes, the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) was used and was performed without warm up, so that the obtained values were not affected. 3 external examiners who are certified experts in Functional Movement Screen were included to ensure the testing objectivity. Data recording was done manually and registered into the Functional Movement Screen Score Sheet. Input and output testing took place in the morning hours under the same conditions. The training program ran for 8 weeks in the preparatory period from 16/01/2024 to 07/03/2024 and was implemented 2 times a week. When comparing the input and output data, the experimental group recorded a significant improvement in the average point score of the triathletes from 12.25 ± 2.17 points to 15.75 ± 1.92 points which represents an improvement in the FMS score by 28.6%. The control group also registered an average improvement from 12.25 ± 1.92 to 13 ± 1.22 points which represents an improvement of 6.1%. The results show that a strength-endurance training program will have a higher effect on changes in Functional Movement Screen scores in triathletes than a uniform training method. Due to lower number of the triathletes the further and wider investigation of the issue is recommended

Vol. 19, no. 3 (2024), pp. 757-766.The study aimed to compare the impact of warm-up with dynamic stretching (DS), warm-up with foam roller (FR), and warm-up with a combination of FR and DS (CO) on the performance of movement indicators in tests conducted on young volleyball players (n = 8, age = 15.4 ± 0.5 years, height = 176.3 ± 8.6 cm, weight = 64.5 ± 10.9 kg) during the competition year 2021/2022. To assess the effects of warm-up methods (DS, FR, CO), performance in various movement tests was compared. The tests included the sit and reach test (SR), a 1 kg ball throw in a kneeling position (H1), squat jump (SJ), countermovement jump (CMJ), sit-up test (SU), E-Test (ET), and run to cones (RC). The One-way ANOVA analysis did not reveal significant differences in the effects of DS, FR, and CO warm-ups (p > .05) across all investigated indicators. The effect size coefficient (η2) indicated negligible differences (η2 < 0.01), except for the ET indicator, where a small effect size (η2 = 0.028, 95%CI: 0.04-0.31) favoured DS. These findings carry social importance as they contribute to enhancing the efficacy of warm-up routines, both in sports performance and health considerations

No. 100 (2024), pp. 142-151.This paper, which is based on the results of experimental studies of online training of Ukrainian philology students, future interpreters and translators, using machine translation as an example, examines the global and topical issue of balanced coexistence of humans and technology in the context of theoretical ideas of technohumanism. This concept postulates the harmonious and complementary development of humanity and technology. The paper aims to determine the degree of independence and autonomy of a human (student) after having transferred part of their own translation competence to machine translation systems (MT) in the context of online learning, as well as the impact of such transfer on the efficiency of the relevant activity (translation and interpreting). It is established that a significant number of online university students constantly apply MT in their learning activities, including written and oral assignments, even in cases where the conditions of their performance explicitly prohibit it. In the course of studying the ways of concealing the application of MT in oral and written translation, the author has identified a number of methods used by students for this purpose. It is concluded that shifting responsibility for the quality of translation or interpreting to technology as a result of excessive application of MT does not justify itself. In addition, it hinders the development of human translation competence, largely turning it into a supplement to technological tools. Negatively assessing such trends in online specialist training, the author proposes a number of measures to ensure the parallel but more harmonious development of the technology-related and anthropomorphic constituents of the future translator’s and interpreter’s professional competence

In: Legestic. Nitrianske Hrnčiarovce : HACCP Consulting, 2024. ISSN 2730-0641. Vol. 2 (2024), s. 48-58.The authors in this paper address the specificity of criminal and civil liability for healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions, particularly concerning errors that may occur during healthcare provision. In practice, situations may arise where a healthcare professional fails to diagnose a patient promptly or correctly, or a bribe is accepted for a medical procedure. However, it is necessary to reflect on the issue of legal liability and the criminalisation of the healthcare profession, as well as whether every error in diagnosis constitutes an act of non-lege artis. The study also examines the nuances of legal liability in cases where healthcare professionals operate within ambiguous circumstances, emphasising the importance of expert evidence to evaluate adherence to medical standards. Furthermore, it explores the criminalisation of healthcare errors, questioning whether current legislative frameworks adequately differentiate between professional negligence and intentional misconduct. By analysing civil and criminal liability, the paper provides a comprehensive perspective on how healthcare professionals can navigate their responsibilities while minimising legal risks

In: Health Technologies = Technolohiji zdorovja. Charkov : Independent Publisher Zhanneta Kozina, 2024. ISSN 2958-7921. Vol. 2, no 2 (2024), pp. 18-25.Background and purpose: In an endurance sport such as triathlon, coaches at the elite level strive to select an appropriate nutritional strategy prior to performance in addition to optimizing the training process. Based on this, the research in question was designed with the aim to verify the effect of caffeine on the running performance of performance triathletes during the preparation period. Purpose is to determine the effect of caffeine on running performance in triathletes. Material and methods: The study sample consisted of 8 performance triathletes from the TRIAN club of ŠK UMB Banská Bystrica, whose age was 16.7 ± 0.67 years. Diagnostics were run on InSPORTline Condi T6000i treadmill with the aim of detecting lactate and blood sugar levels (mmol/l) before the performance and within 10 seconds after the performance. The blood lactate level was detected with the portable device Lactate Scout+ and the blood glucose level was measured with the Wellion CALLA light glucose meter. The running pace at which the participants performed the test was at anaerobic threshold and they attempted to cover a distance of 1,500 m at a constant incline of 3%. The testing took place 1 time per week in the morning hours (08:00-08:30). On the second day after the initial testing from 01.03.2023 to 14.03.2023, the participants started taking placebo (magnesii lactas) on a daily basis in form of capsules. The participants took 2 capsules (200 mg magnesium) which they consumed with 200 mL of water 45 to 60 minutes before each morning workout/test. This was followed by the administration of caffeine capsules, which they consumed for an additional 2 weeks from 03.15.2023 to 03.28.2023. The participants consumed caffeine capsules at 5 mg/kg body weight 45 to 60 minutes before each morning workout/test. The intervention programme lasted 5 weeks. Results: When administering caffeine capsules at a dose of 5 mg/kg body weight, there was a significant reduction of approximately 26% in the average blood lactate level of the participants after the 1,500 m run. The participants' mean blood glucose levels increased by approximately 4.9% after the 1500 m run. Conclusions: Based on the results we can claim that for ergogenic effects on performance we recommend supplementing with 5mg/kg body weight of caffeine approximately 45 to 60 minutes before training

In: Studia Ecologiae et Bioethicae. Warszawa : Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego, 2024. ISSN 1733-1218. Vol. 22, no. 1 (2024), pp. 83-95.Greenwashing is the practice of making false or misleading claims about the environmental benefits of a product or service. The purpose of this study is to examine consumers’ perceptions and experiences in relation to the greenwashing tactics used by Slovak businesses within the framework of environmental health policy. In the present study, we used data obtained through an inductive qualitative research design according to consolidated criteria. From 14 participants aged 20-45, using reflexive thematic analysis, we analysed three semi-structured focus group interviews. Four descriptive themes were created: (1) Individual and interpersonal determinants of consumers; (2) Marketing and organisational determinants of brands; (3)Public policy of the environment and health of the Slovak Republic; and (4) Environmental sustainability and ecological protection. The findings of our study confirmed that greenwashing often relies on buzzwords to reel in consumers, making them believe that the products they purchase are biodegradable or ethically sourced. The observed deterioration of consumer trust in product brands as a reaction to greenwashing threatens the potential of green marketing and contributes to damaging the reputation of the producers. One solution could be disseminating information on how customers can verify the authenticity of organic products through public and social media.Norway Grants BIN SGS02_2021_002 Univerzita podporujúca inteligentné aktívne starnuti
