Effectiveness & User Satisfaction on the Implementation of Online Application for Admission
The rise of digital solutions in higher education has prompted Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT) to implement an online application system. This study aimed to determine the efficiency and student satisfaction with this system, addressing the gap in understanding its localized effectiveness. A quantitative research design using a descriptive survey method was employed, with simple random sampling among 57 Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students. Respondents were quantitatively evaluated based on system performance and user experience. Statistical analysis was used to assess both aspects. Findings indicated general system effectiveness, indicating that students generally viewed the system as effective in terms of speed, accuracy, and user-friendliness, but revealed concerns regarding technical issues, data security, and inadequate user support. Users recognized overall functionality but noted inconsistencies and insufficient assistance during technical problems. This study contributes by identifying specific areas for improvement in educational digital platforms. Key recommendations include enhancing the user interface with clearer content and navigation, strengthening data security to build trust, and providing comprehensive user training and readily available support. Investing in robust technological infrastructure is crucial for system reliability. By addressing these areas, PIT can significantly improve user satisfaction and streamline the application process, fostering a more efficient and positive experience. This research underscores the importance of continuous improvement in digital systems to meet evolving user needs in higher education
Design and Development of Customer Satisfaction Survey system
This study focused on design and development of Customer Satisfaction Survey system. The project aimed to develop a dedicated Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) system to address challenges such as delayed reporting and scattered feedback data across campuses. Using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) model, the system was designed, prototyped, and developed with technologies including Flutter, HTML, JavaScript, Android Studio, and phpMyAdmin. The system was evaluated by 357 respondents, including IT experts, CSS heads, and customers, using an adapted ISO 25010 Software Quality Standards checklist. Results showed that the system was rated as "Highly Acceptable" across eight key quality attributes: functional suitability, performance efficiency, compatibility, usability, reliability, security, maintainability, and portability, with an overall weighted mean of 4.67. The findings confirm that the developed system effectively meets user needs, enhances feedback management, and supports organizational quality improvements through a more efficient, technology-driven approach
Enhancing Online Learning Through Feedback Analytics Using Descriptive Analytics and Topic Modeling
As online education continues to evolve, particularly within pioneering institutions offering fully online degree programs, the need for data-driven quality assurance becomes increasingly critical. From Academic Year 2018 to 2025, a substantial volume of student feedback was collected through Course and Mentor Evaluation (CME) and Voice of the Customer (VOC) surveys. The CME and VOC datasets offer greater insights into the learner experience. However, the amount and complexity of textual feedback present challenges for standard manual analysis. This study aims to extract meaningful insights from student feedback using a combination of descriptive analytics and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques—specifically, sentiment analysis and topic modeling. A total of 36,142 valid entries from the original dataset were kept after a rigorous data-cleaning procedure. To guarantee data quality and consistency, entries with missing, duplicate, or invalid responses were eliminated. Descriptive analytics were used to find recurring patterns and common problems, while topic modeling assisted in exposing underlying themes in the comments. A more detailed view of service gaps, student happiness, and instructional effectiveness is made possible by this dual approach. The study\u27s findings aim to inform institutional enhancements in mentor interaction, course content, and the overall delivery of online learning. The research helps to continuously improve the quality of fully online higher education environments by creating a framework that is influenced by feedback
Assessing the Diversity and Distribution of Lepidoptera Species in Sibalom Natural Park
Lepidoptera species are known as vital key pollinators and biodiversity indicators of the environment. This study aimed to assess the distribution and diversity of Lepidopteran species in Sibalom Natural Park. Van Someren-Rydon (VSR) traps were utilized to collect data, which were analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener Index, Margalef diversity index, and Simpson\u27s Diversity Index. A total of 84 Lepidoptera species were recorded across four distinct study sites in Sibalom Natural Park. Additionally, two unique species, namely Charaxes amycus and Allotinus fallax fallax, were present in the area. The findings of this study can serve as foundational data for strengthening biodiversity monitoring protocols specific to Lepidoptera within Sibalom Natural Park and other protected landscapes
Visualization and Geo Mapping of Dengue Cases Using Time Series Forecasting
Accurate and timely reporting of dengue cases is essential for the Department of Health (DOH) and Municipal Health Office (MHO) to monitor and respond to outbreaks effectively to help track the spread of the disease and deploy resources where they are most needed. Strengthening surveillance system, ensures real time data collection and analysis, with enhanced epidemiological surveillance units, improving the monitoring of dengue trends and outbreaks. This study developed a system for Visualization and Geo Mapping of Dengue Cases using Time Series Forecasting. Time Series is a certain sequence of data observations that a system collects within specific periods of time (daily, monthly, or yearly). The aim of this study is to design an effective and user-friendly surveillance system that will accurately monitor and control the dengue outbreak in a timely manner. Time series forecasting models were usually used to predict high and low dengue incidence as accurate prediction may provide timely forewarnings, and predictions are made from historical data available. The forecasting feature of the system used time series algorithm to predict future dengue cases, specifically random forest regressor. The visual summary of information has been a great support in showing the concentration of the cases to help in determining high risk areas. With the addition of forecasting, it helped in detecting emerging infections and aid in the decision making and prompted the government unit responsible in taking actions for enhanced and strengthened public health efforts of the government
SandPix: A Sand-based Image Printing Technology
The SandPix project under the creative industry roadmap, introduces an innovative sand-based image printing technology. The project envisions a computer-controlled printer that uses colored sand and a proprietary mixing algorithm to create textured image prints with the visual charm of handcrafted art. To evaluate its commercial potential, this study assessed the problem-solution fit of the SandPix service among its intended customer segments: art buyers, artists, and printing businesses. Using a Descriptive Qualitative Research Design, researchers conducted 40 purposively sampled interviews in Iloilo City. Thematic analysis revealed a strong appreciation for handmade and personalized art, with participants valuing the uniqueness and sentimental appeal of such works. Most buyers deemed Php1,000 to 5,000 a fair price for custom artwork and expected delivery timelines between one week and one month. Artists acknowledged the impact of commission volumes on production pace, while printing businesses commonly outsourced overflow jobs, showing industry readiness for scalable collaborations. The findings confirm that SandPix aligns with consumer values and operational practices, offering a feasible and appealing alternative for art creation and personalization. These results support the business viability of SandPix as a culturally resonant and commercially promising product within the creative sector
Understanding the Interplay of Stress, Workloads, and Teaching Performance: Evidence from Senior High School Teachers in the Philippines
This study investigates how work-related stress and workloads affect the teaching performance of Senior High School teachers during the 2021–2022 academic year at a public school in Cebu, Philippines. Employing a mixed-method approach, the research combined survey data with semi-structured interviews to capture both numerical trends and personal experiences. Results revealed that while teachers generally managed moderate stress despite high workloads, neither stress nor workloads alone significantly predicted performance levels. However, qualitative data highlighted how excessive ancillary duties and lack of institutional support influenced job satisfaction and delivery. Based on these findings, a responsive action plan was developed focusing on stress management, workload redistribution, and enhanced administrative support to sustain teacher well-being and performance
ROBOTICS ACTIVITIES: Impact On Students’ Interest and Attitude in Science Learning
This quasi-experimental study examined the impact of robotics activities on students’ interest and attitudes in science learning among Grade 10 Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) students and third-year Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) Science majors at the University of Antique. Rooted in constructivist theory, the study utilized Arduino-based robotics workshops integrated into science lessons. Pretest and posttest surveys assessed shifts in students’ interest and attitude. Quantitative data revealed statistically significant improvements in students\u27 post-intervention scores, indicating enhanced interest and positive disposition toward science learning. Notably, there were no significant differences in attitude gains across sex or income levels highlighting the inclusive and equitable nature of robotics interventions. Middle-income students exhibited the highest attitude gains (M = 2.03), suggesting robotics may mitigate socioeconomic motivational gaps. While Grade 10 students recorded slightly higher attitude improvements than BSED majors, the difference was not statistically significant. The results affirm Papert’s (1980) constructionist learning theory and support prior research indicating the motivational benefits of educational robotics. The findings suggest that robotics-integrated science education enhances engagement, promotes equity, and prepares future educators and students for STEM-related academic and career pathways. It is recommended that robotics be integrated systematically into science curricula and teacher training programs to maximize pedagogical benefits and support inclusive STEM education.
The Utilization of Google Workspace as a Tool to Enhanced Teaching and Learning among the Teachers in Region 8, Philippines
This paper aimed to determine the extent, usefulness, ease of use and attitude towards the utilization of Google Workspace (formerly G Suite for Education) as a tool to enhanced teaching and learning among the teachers in Region 8, Philippines. The study employed a descriptive correlational research design utilizing survey questionnaire using simple random sampling. The findings revealed that Google Classroom had the highest frequency of utilization and Google Earth was the least utilized. Most of the respondents rated “strongly agree” on its usefulness as a tool but just rated “agree” on ease of use and attitude towards its usage. Further, Correlation analysis revealed that there is significant relationship between extent of utilization of Google Workspace and perceived usefulness but no significant relationship with ease of use and attitude. Thus, the researcher concludes that utilization of Google Workspace as a tool in teaching and learning processes is very effective to enhance educational experience
BH Niyo App: A Smart Mobile Solution for Boarding House Room Rentals in Ormoc City
This study BH Niyo App: A smart mobile solution for boarding house room rentals in Ormoc city aims to modernize the way student, renters/tenants and landlords to find available boarding house in Ormoc city. This is in response to the problems with traditional finding boarding house using newspaper, posters, friends, posting in social media and a lot more. The BH Niyo App main goal was to create a centralized platform using their smartphones to navigate in finding rooms, and bed spacer a lot easier by providing real-time listing, safe booking, and a digital transactions. This solves the research gap between the property owners and potentials renters. The researchers used qualitative method under it we use the approach on our data gathering using interviews, observation and thematic analysis. Aside from that we used the agile method on our systems development to adopt continues feedback from the users. To ensure system quality evaluation, the ISO.IEC 25010 standard was used to evaluation the different characteristics such as functionality, usability, security, performance efficiency, portability, reliability, compatibility, and maintainability. The result of the study shows a high level of satisfaction among both user roles. Owner role features had an “Excellent” verbal interpretation while tenants had a “Very Good verbal interpretation” and emphasized usability and responsiveness. In overall the application achieved a 98% accuracy rate in real-time availability reporting and high rating for user interface. The findings highlights the more accessible, responsive, and secure BH Niyo App make a significant improvement in digitalizing the room rental operation in Ormoc city
