User Requirements in Enterprise Resource Planning Systems Adoption: A Case of Botswana’s Higher Institutions
ERP systems are the largest software applications adopted by universities, along with quite significant investments in their implementation. However, unlike other applications, limited research has been conducted regarding the application of this system in higher education in Botswana. This study aims to identify user requirements in the adoption of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in Botswana’s higher education institutions. This study was conducted in three higher education institutions in Botswana. This study adopted the quantitative methodology of using surveys to understand ERP adoption in higher education and proposed a model that could be used to guide business information systems requirements to appropriate ERP systems in a higher educational environment. Based on the findings, the study proposed a conceptual model of ERP system adoption in higher education institutions using six success dimensions. The six success dimensions are user requirements, user satisfaction, information quality, service quality, institutional impact, system quality, and faculty/management impact. Only information quality was rejected from the model. The six success dimensions are the basis through which a higher education institution can understand user requirements in implementing an effective ERP
Implementation of Automated Test Case Generation in REST API on Android-Based Koperasi Application
This study is focused on developing a data collection system to enhance the performance of Koperasi, an organization with complex data collection. An Android application was created to automate the processing of member and transaction data, significantly improving data processing efficiency. However, building a quality system takes time and requires error-free data processing. To achieve this, Automated Test Case Generation with EvoMaster was used to test the REST API and identify errors. The testing process went through several iterations until almost no errors were found. EvoMaster generated over 19.5 million scenarios and found 78 errors in the REST API in 58 hours, which were promptly fixed between iterations. The use of EvoMaster not only reduced development time but also helped maintain code quality
Strategic Planning for Student Guidance Information System Design in Tourism Department using Ward and Peppard Framework
This study examines the challenges faced by students during the thesis completion process, including miscommunication, document loss, and difficulty scheduling guidance sessions. To address these issues, Ward and Peppard's method was utilized to design a strategic plan for the Tourism Department at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. The research findings reveal that the implementation of the student guidance information system, "SIBIMA," results in an efficient and effective process for student registration, supervisor verification, document upload/download, manuscript correction, and monitoring of student progress. Furthermore, the SWOT analysis, Value Chain, Critical Success Factor (CSF), Porter Five Forces model, and McFarlan Grid Portfolio demonstrate that SIBIMA effectively utilizes strengths to overcome weaknesses and minimize threats
An IoT-Based Model for Monitoring Plant Growth in Greenhouses
The unstable climatic conditions are promoting the adoption of smart agriculture. The introduction of IoT technology in the cultivation process allows for the monitoring and control of plant growth through automation. While the traditional greenhouse system is already an upgrade to the traditional cultivation system, it still has room for improvement with the integration of technology. The traditional greenhouse system requires close monitoring of growth rates through manual intervention and can be prone to various hazards. Incorrect interpretations of plant requirements can result in wrong interventions that may severely affect plant growth. It is imperative to have accurate data to maintain the health of plants throughout the cultivation process. IoT plays a predominant role in providing accurate data for constant monitoring of plant growth. The aim of this paper is to present a fully functional greenhouse automation model using microcontrollers, sensors, fans, pumps, and appropriate networking routing technology capable of providing instant data for proper monitoring of plant growth. The presented model includes safety features and can issue alerts in case security measures are breached. The system may even allow users to perform remote monitoring using a web application. Therefore, the proposed model will contribute to enhancing the horticultural industry by increasing output and reducing the need for human intervention
Empowering Efficiency: A Web-Based Inventory and Sales Information System for Drinking Water Distributors through Rapid Application Development
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are vital for a country's economy, fostering job creation and economic growth. This research focuses on MSME water distribution agents engaged in selling and distributing various brands and types of bottled drinking water. With a customer base exceeding a thousand and an average of 30 daily transactions, these agents encounter specific challenges in inventory and sales reporting. Presently, MSMEs rely on traditional methods, using books to record stock and sales reports, manually calculating transactions with calculators, and preparing handwritten paper invoices. These practices often result in writing errors, inaccuracies in product information, and pricing inconsistencies. Furthermore, the manual nature of these processes consumes significant time and effort on a daily basis. This study highlights the applicability of the Rapid Application Development (RAD) system design method in creating an efficient and time-sensitive solution. By leveraging RAD, the system design was swiftly accomplished with a limited team. The traceability matrix test validates the successful alignment of the designed information system with the needs of MSME agents in the drinking water distribution sector. The findings of this study provide compelling evidence that the RAD system design approach significantly enhances inventory and sales management practices for MSMEs involved in drinking water distribution. By implementing the developed information system, MSME agents can streamline their operations, eliminate manual errors, and improve overall efficiency, thereby fostering their growth and success in the market
Investigation of Relationship Between Google Cost-Per-Click and Search-Volume on Keyword of Chicago Tours
Pay-per-click is one of common and important ways in online advertising through Google; but some keywords are usually expensive and this issue is visible through Google cost-per-click in Google keyword planner tool. It has done many research work in Google advertising formats, but place of studies in field of relationship between Google cost-per-click and keyword search-volume, especially in tourism area is blank. This paper tries to answer of this main question that is there a significant relationship between cost-per-click and keyword search-volume and the number of keyword's word? In other words, does cost-per-click increase or decrease, based on keyword search-volume and the number of keyword's word (multi-word keyword or hyper focused keyword phrases)? Chicago auspicates a mighty increase in tourism 2022 as its announcement an 86 percent growth in visitors in 2021 compared to 2020 and choosing the right keyword in Google search engine by travel agencies can lead to more sales. In this research, I sampled 100 search result through combination of ″chicago+tours″ as a search keyword on google.com (Google USA) and Google keyword planner daily data (December 26, 2022) based on the last 7-10 days, and via regression analysis with least squares and loess model, I tried to investigate the relationship between search-volume and cost-per-click and it will help scholars in future research in this area. This study was carried out within the scope of selected keyword in tourism area in form of cross-sectional. I find that there is no significant relationship between short-tail keywords and cost-per-click. The result of this research shows that some medium or long-tail keywords are more expensive than short-tail keywords with more search results. Another result that was observed is the lack of significant relationship between keyword search-volume and its cost-per-click, so that in some cases, high-search keywords are cheaper than keywords with a low-search
Leveraging COBIT 2019 to Implement IT Governance in Mineral Mining Company
The integration of Information Technology (IT) in companies comes with its own set of challenges. One major issue is the loss of operational data, which directly affects the company's workflow and disrupts its activities. To tackle this problem, the company assesses its IT capability using the COBIT 2019 framework. This framework outlines the objectives of different IT processes and assigns predetermined values to each process. The assessment reveals three levels of IT capability for specific processes within the company: EDM03 (Ensured Risk Optimization) at level 3, APO13 (Managed Security) at level 2, and MEA03 (Managed Compliance with External Requirements) at level 3. The company aims to reach level 4 for these processes. Consequently, recommendations for improvement primarily focus on enhancing the management of information security risks and information security management systems, as well as increasing compliance with policies and regulations
E-consultation Acceptance in Ghana: A Quantitative Analysis and Proposed Model for Enhancing Digital Health
This study investigates the adoption and enhancement of digital health through e-consultation in Ghana's healthcare systems. It examines the challenges hindering the successful implementation of e-consultation, including security, privacy and awareness. By conducting a quantitative analysis and proposing a comprehensive model, this study aims to provide insights into overcoming these barriers, to improve healthcare accessibility and reduce disparities through e-consultation. The research integrates the DeLone and McLean IS Success Model, focusing on quality, use, user satisfaction, and net benefits, alongside the Diffusion of Innovation theory of technology adoption. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining literature review and quantitative analysis. Clinicians and patients received distinct questionnaires, covering knowledge, skills, performance, safety, and e-consultation challenges. Univariate statistics provides an initial data overview, followed by factor analysis. With a Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin value of 0.710 and Bartlett's test of sphericity yielding 1300.894, the data proves suitable for factor analysis. Using Principal Axis Factoring, the study reveals significant correlations among factors: Attitude, Regulatory Framework, Diffusion, and Acceptance. Based on these findings, an E-consultation Framework is proposed, emphasizing robust E-consultation Technology Frameworks. By adopting e-consultation and advanced digital health integration, Ghana can advance healthcare accessibility, diminish disparities, and enhance citizens' well-being within the digital health domain
Information Security Evaluation Using Case Study Information Security Index on Licensing Portal Applications
There's a lot of cyber attacks going on right now, so the Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing (PUPR) has to get serious about preventing them. One of the information system that contains critical public data need to be secured is Portal Perizinan. In order to maintain information security, an evaluation should be carried out to assess the level of readiness (comprehensiveness and consistency) of the implementation of information security based on the SNI ISO/IEC 27001:2013 criteria using the Information Security Index. (KAMI Index). The five areas assessed aim to determine the level of organization preparedness in the implementation of information security. Obtained a score of 31 for the level of organization dependence on electronic systems, with a high level of category. The presence of technology security is at level I through to level II and our index measures 351, which means that the level of maturity of the new ISMS is at the stage of Achievement of the Basic Framework. From the results of this case study it can be seen that the state of information security readiness in the Ministry of PUPR still needs to be improved to meet ISO 27001 standard
Enhancing Privacy of information with Data Embedding in Medical MRI Images Based on Segmentation and HVS Model
The development of communications technology and the arrival of Medicine modern equipment in the health domain has caused the diagnosis and treatment methods to be considered from a distance and medical centers are equipped with telemedicine systems. Forensic medicine organizations with daily clients and outpatient examinations such as accident clients, Conflict returns as well as spousal abuse. Doctors and employees of the organization also serve as one of the powerful arms of the judiciary, following up on important cases in the medical, laboratory, and psychiatric commissions So that they can take steps to realize the rights of the people. Patient data security has become a serious concern for professionals and one of the methods is using data embedding to the protection against these risks. In this method, medical informatics, telemedicine, and forensic medicine organizations has played a pivotal role and any mistake in the reporting can be catastrophic. The main purpose of this research is to present data on EPRs with Enhancing data embedding Based on SSIM and HVS with the help of medical image segmentation and focus on brain MRI images. In this study, innovations include the addition of the HVS block based on the SSIM criterion to meet transparency and robustness conditions. Selection of the embedding coefficient K is considered adaptively depending on the degree of uniformity of the N - ROI region with the image quality factor. The coordinates of ROI areas in one of the DCT and DWT conversion blocks have been demonstrated to have better performance at Concealment EPRs. The choice of coefficients af,k which consists of the optimization frequency sensitivity function and spatial property is comparatively done to match the visual perception of the visual system. The present study aims to improve the effectiveness of the proposed method, improve the security level, and the confidentiality of patient information, and integrate the storage of patient information and image. The simulation results of the proposed method, considering the parameters of embedding and transparency in comparison with other methods, have been done using evaluation criteria including MSE PSNR, NC, SSIM, and BER
