    Usability Analysis of Atma Jaya Catholic University E-Learning Based on Human Computer Interaction

    E-learning UAJ is a system provided by Unika Atma Jaya to facilitate the learning process for both students and lecturers. However, this system is still rarely used, especially among engineering faculties. This forms the basis for conducting the following analysis. The purpose of this research is to measure the level of usability of the UAJ e-learning system. Usability analysis is carried out using five components of usability outlined by Jakob Nielsen: Learnability, Efficiency, Memorability, Errors, and Satisfaction. The indicators within these five components are then compiled into a questionnaire, which will be distributed to active lecturers and students across all faculties who utilize the UAJ e-learning platform. This study employs a Likert scale with five categories, ranging from category 1 indicating "very bad" to category 5 indicating "very good." Among the five usability criteria assessed for both students and lecturers, the majority of responses fell within category 3, indicating sufficiency. The average scores ranged from 14.122 to 18.731 for lecturers and from 19.825 to 21.845 for students. Overall, the usability level of the UAJ e-learning platform is deemed satisfactory, enabling more effective utilization by both lecturers and students. Additionally, the study results propose several solutions for enhancing the development of the UAJ e-learning system

    Analysis and Design of Information System for Parking Management “ParkHere” Using Design Thinking Method

    Finding a secure and comfortable parking space is one of the needs of automobile owners when they visit retail centers. The ability of parking lot managers to provide information on sufficient capacity and access presents a barrier to delivering parking facilities in retail centers. Due to this, a website-based parking facility management information system is required, allowing drivers to make reservations and payments online based on when they plan to visit the shopping center. The method used in the design of ParkHere information systems is design thinking which consists of empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing stages. The output of this study shows that at the empathize stage, motorists need information about the capacity of parking lots in various shopping centers before visiting the location. At the defined stage, this shows the need for motorists for website-based and real-time parking facility information. At the idea stage, it is necessary to design an information system based on the website that provides information on the capacity of parking facilities based on the operational time of the shopping center. At the prototype and testing stages, the ParkHere information system can answer the user's needs in choosing a place and location for vehicle parking based on the specified time

    In the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, efficient and accurate production processes ensure quality products and meet customer demands. However, many companies still rely on manual systems, such as Microsoft Excel, which can lead to challenges and inefficiencies. The problems identified include a lack of integration between product data and manufacturing documents, error-prone manual data entry, document mix-ups, and time-consuming processes. The study aimed to design and implement a web-based material requirement planning system to address the challenges of a manual manufacturing system in a pharmaceutical company. The objectives were to improve integration, streamline production processes, and reduce lead time for enhanced operational efficiency. The study employed a prototyping approach to design and develop a web-based material requirement planning system. User feedback and requirements guided iterative design cycles, while User Acceptance Testing evaluated system performance and usability. The impact on operational efficiency was assessed by measuring lead time before and after implementation. The implemented web-based material requirement planning system successfully resolved integration issues, reduced manual data entry errors, and minimized document mix-ups within the pharmaceutical manufacturing company. User Acceptance Testing achieved a 100% average percentage. The lead time was improved from 207-251 minutes to 122-159 minutes, demonstrating enhanced operational efficiency

    This study addresses the urgent need for robust data security by evaluating the Information Security Management System (ISMS) of a private contractor poised for ISO 27001 certification. It introduces the context of pervasive data breaches that necessitate stringent security measures. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research method combines the KAMI index for quantitative maturity assessment with qualitative insights from staff interviews and literature reviews. The results reveal the contractor's ISMS maturity at levels I+ to II, indicating a shortfall in meeting the ISO 27001 benchmark. The discussion highlights the efficacy of the PDCA cycle in ISMS implementation, but also underscores the imperative for enhancements to fulfill certification requirements

    Detection of Hate Speech Code Mix Involving English and Other Nigerian Languages

    Hate speech is a recurrent event and has become a cause for global concern. The proliferation of hate speech has recently become prevalent, breeding room for violence and discrimination against specific individuals or groups. In Nigeria, message masking (use of language-mix) has become the new normal, especially in disseminating hateful and inciting comments. Hence, there is a need to curb the spread over social media. Therefore, this research focuses on detecting hate speech on social media with a code-mix of English, Pidgin and any of the three major Nigerian languages (Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba). The research used two machine learning algorithms: Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Random Forest (RF). Data were collected from tweets on the EndSARS protest and the 2023 Nigerian elections. The major features were extracted, and the text was converted into vectors using TF-IDF and Bag-of-words (BoW), which were used to train and test the model. The result showed that SVM performed better in classifying hate speech than RF on both TF-IDF and BoW features, averaging 93.43% for accuracy, 93.70% for precision, 93.43% for recall, and 93.57% for F1-score

    Building Bridges: Universitas Multimedia Nusantara's Experience in Strengthening Academic Relationships through a Social Community Media Approach

    Universitas Multimedia Nusantara has thousands of academicians and several academic or non-academic organizations. Some of these things allow the potential for increased social relationship connections between the academic community and the intensity of receiving and disseminating information, especially for students. Through a survey of students, there are examples of confirmed problems regarding the receipt and dissemination of information such as the lack of exposure of student work, the location of wall magazines that are difficult to find, information on student emails that are less relevant, time-consuming searches for coursework respondents, and the number of social media accounts of organizations that must be searched on different social media platforms to get information. Therefore, the design and development of a social community media website utilizing the Rapid Application Development method, a rapid prototype system development model with the stages of planning, design workshop, and implementation. The focus of the research is the backend system. The backend system design utilizes draw.io to create flowcharts and supabase schema for entity relationship diagrams, while the system development utilizes javascript with next js as the system development tool while system development utilizes javascript with next js as a framework and supabase as the system database. Backend media website backend of the social community media website was successfully designed and built and received User Acceptance Testing results with an acceptance rate of 88.08% for the perceive usefulness and 88.67% for the perceive satisfaction variable, which means that users strongly agree that the function of the social community media website system has fulfilled the two elements of the variable

    Investigating Intention to Use Central Bank Digital Currency in Indonesia

    Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is a digital currency issued by a government-controlled central bank of a particular country. Bank Indonesia as the central bank in Indonesia has been trying to develop a CBDC known as digital rupiah. Digital rupiah is expected to complement and perform same function as the fiat money in Indonesia. Research is needed to identify people’s views on the use of CBDCs. This study seeks to understand the factors that influence intention to use CBDC by adapting Technology Acceptance Model. Data were collected through questionnaires from 565 valid respondents. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to evaluate the proposed model. This study verifies that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, hard trust, and soft trust can influence intention to use CBDC in Indonesia, while personal innovativeness is known to influence perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use

    Land-Use Land-Cover Change Detection Using Geospatial Techniques in Zalingei, Central Darfur, Sudan

    Using remote sensing for land use and land cover (LULC) is essential for systems that help people make decisions because it gives valuable information about space and time. A study was conducted in Zalingei, Sudan, to analyze the changes in LULC over 30 years from 1991 to 2021 using multi-temporal Landsat images. Thematic Mapper (TM) and Operational Land Imager (OLI) were classified using the supervised classification method. The pictures were divided into four groups based on how the land was used: residential areas, bodies of water, vegetation cover, and bare land. Results showed that the residential area increased by 20.74% while the water body increased by 2.32%. However, the vegetation cover decreased by 0.7%, and bare land decreased by 22.37%. The changes were caused by people, which shows how vital good land management practices and involvement from the local community are for reducing LULC change. So, to reduce LULC change in the study area, proper land management practices and active participation from the local community are needed. The study concluded that remote sensing technology is an effective tool for assessing and mapping land use and land cover changes and providing valuable information for decision support systems

    Customer Loyalty Analysis Using Recency,Frequency, Monetary (RFM) and K-means Cluster for Labuan Bajo Souvenirs in Online Store

    An average Labuan Bajo souvenir shop sells a variety of souvenirs specific to Labuan Bajo. However, the sales process is still manual, with the shop resorting to telephone or WhatsApp communication to connect with customers for placing orders. To increase sales, typical souvenir shops in Labuan Bajo are interested in adopting effective marketing strategies. Consequently, an automated system is necessary to manage customers. The Recency, Frequency, and Monetary Analysis methods are commonly used for assigning values or weights to customers during transactions. These weights are then analyzed and grouped using k-means. Recent data analysis over the last three months reveals that the typical Labuan Bajo souvenir shop has one regular customer, three potential customers, and six regular customers. Testing the system's features showed that it was functioning correctly, and therefore, it can assist the typical Labuan Bajo souvenir shop in streamlining the sales process
