    Moda Sektörü ve Yapay Zekâ Uygulamaları

    Yapay zekâ, uzun süredir moda sektörünün farklı aşamalarında kullanılan teknolojilerden biridir. Son dönemlerde özellikle ChatGPT ve Midjourney gibi yeni yapay zekâ araçlarının ortaya çıkmasıyla moda sektörü, bu uygulamaların merkezlerinden biri haline gelmeye başlamıştır. Sektörün yapay zekâ uygulamalarını kullanma noktasındaki tablosu modanın gündeminde olan yapay zekanın belki de modanın bile geleceğini çizecek teknoloji olabileceği konusundaki fikirleri güçlendirmiştir. Yapay zekâ teknolojileri moda sektöründe farklı alanlarda kullanılabilmektedir. Moda tasarımında süreç ve yöntemlerinde fayda sağlayan yapay zekâ teknolojileri, tasarım süreci, talep tahmini, seçim ve iletişim gibi alanlarda daha yoğun olarak kullanılmaktadır. Sektöre sunduğu avantajlar ile son dönemlerin en sık tartışılan konularından biri olan yapay zekâ uygulamaları günümüzün en önemli konularından biri olmayı başarmıştır. Bu bağlamda bu makalede özellikle sektörde kullanılan yapay zekâ uygulamalarına yer verilmiş ve ChatGPT ile örnek model analizleri yapılmıştır. Bu kapsamda çalışma ile yapay zekâ uygulamalarının moda sektöründeki durumunun ortaya konması amaçlanmış ve bazı örnekler sunularak sektöre sunduğu avantajlar üzerinde durulmuştur

    Ameliorative Effects of Myrtus Communis L. Extract Involving the Inhibition of Oxidative Stress on High Fat Diet-Induced Testis Damage in Rats

(MC) extract on a high fat diet (HFD)-induced testicular injury in a rat model were investigated using histological and biochemical methods. Wistar albino rats were divided into three groups: a standard diet control group; a HFD group; and an HFD+MC group. The HFD and HFD+MC groups were fed with a HFD for 16 weeks. MC extract (100 mg/kg) was given orally five days a week to the rats in the HFD+MC group during the last four weeks of the experiment. Leptin, triglyceride, high-density lipoproteins, cholesterol, estrogen, testosterone, LH and FSH were analyzed in blood serum. Sperm parameters were evaluated from the epididymis. Testicular morphology, proliferative, apoptotic and NADPH oxidase-2 (NOX2)-positive cells were evaluated histologically. Testicular oxidative stress parameters were analyzed biochemically. In the HFD group, lipid and hormone profiles were changed, abnormal spermatozoa, degenerated seminiferous tubules with apoptotic and NOX2-positive cells were increased in number, and sperm motility and germinal proliferative cells decreased compared to the control group. Moreover, testicular malondialdehyde, 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine and myeloperoxidase levels increased, whereas glutathione and superoxide dismutase levels decreased in the HFD group compared to the control group. All these histological and biochemical features were ameliorated by MC treatment of HFD-fed rats. In conclusion, HFD caused alterations in sperm parameters and testicular morphology by increasing oxidative damage and apoptosis.     Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Sanal Kaçış Odası Uygulamasına İlişkin Görüşleri

    Amaç: Bu araştırma, öğrencilerin ameliyat sonrası hasta bakımı alanında yapılan sanal kaçış odası uygulamasına ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirildi. Yöntem: Bu çalışma Şubat 2021-Mayıs 2021 tarihleri arasında İstanbul’da bulunan bir vakıf üniversitesinin Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi’nde cerrahi hastalıklar dersini almış 3. ve 4. sınıf hemşirelik öğrencileri ile tanımlayıcı bir çalışma olarak yapıldı. Veriler Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Ameliyat Sonrası Hasta Bakımı Formu ile toplandı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 21.74±0.94’dür. Öğrencilerin %51.1’i kadın, %61.8’i 3. sınıf öğrencisidir. Öğrencilerin %100’ünün sanal kaçış oyununu beğendiği, %32.6’sının sanal kaçış oyununu eğlenceli bulup cerrahi dersi konusunda bilgi seviyesi gösterdiğini ifade etmişlerdir. Öğrenciler 5’li likert tipte olan bu formda kararsızım, katılmıyorum ve tamamen katılmıyorum maddelerini seçmemişlerdir. Sonuç: Bu çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlar hemşirelik öğrencilerinin sanal kaçış odasına ilişkin görüşlerinin olumlu olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca öğrenciler sanal kaçış odası oyunu sırasında hem öğrendiklerini hem eğlendiklerini ifade etmişlerdir

    Analysis of Substance Use and Mental Disorder Diagnoses in Adolescents With a History of Delinquency: a Cross-Sectional Study

This study included 47 adolescents aged 15-18 years and had a history of delinquency. Data were collected using the Addiction Profile Index Adolescent Form (API-A) and an information form. Results indicated that the adolescents' mean age is 16.11 +/- 1.05 years, 78.7% had committed crimes against property and 34.0% against the person, and 34.0% were also victims of crime. Mean API-A total scores indicated that their level of substance use was low. In addition, mean API-A total scores showed significant differences according to the adolescents' migration status, age, economic status, school attendance, mental disorder diagnosis, duration of mental disorder, and type of offense (p < 0.05). The benefit provided by timely and appropriate psychosocial interventions may have a key role in solving this problem for adolescents and improving their future as adults.Science Citation Index Expanded - Social Science Citation Inde

    Tele-Assessment of Core Performance and Functional Capacity: Reliability, Validity, and Feasibility in Healthy Individuals

Considering the need for telehealth use, it is essential to determine the usability of tests performed as tele-assessment. This study aimed to examine the intra-rater reliability, validity, and feasibility of the tele-assessment version of core strength and endurance and functional capacity assessments in healthy individuals. Methods "Curl-up," "Modified Push-up," "Plank," and "Lateral Bridge" tests were used for core strength and endurance performance assessment, and "Timed Up and Go," "30 second Sit to Stand," and "Functional Reach Test" tests were used for functional capacity assessment in healthy individuals. Participants were evaluated first by tele-assessment, then one hour later on the same day, all assessments were repeated face-to-face procedures by the researchers thus the validity of the tele-assessment method was determined. All tests were applied as tele-assessment one week later to determine the intra-rater reliability of the tele-assessment method. The system usability scale was applied to evaluate the usability of our tele-assessment method. Results Eighty healthy people were enrolled. Intraclass correlation coefficients ranged between 0.91 and 0.97 for core performance tests and between 0.95 and 0.97 for functional tests. All tele-assessment versions of the core performance and functional tests were highly correlated with the face-to-face versions. Discussion Core strength-endurance and functional tests performed via tele-assessment were reliable, valid, and feasible for practically measuring the performance of healthy young adults.     Apocynin Exhibits an Ameliorative Effect on Endothelial Dysfunction/ Atherosclerosis-Related Factors in High-Fat Diet-Induced Obesity in Rats

Materials and Methods: Male Wistar albino rats were divided into control (CNT), high-fat diet (HFD) and HFD+APO groups. HFD and HFD+APO groups were fed HFD for sixteen weeks. APO (25 mg/kg) was administered to the HFD+APO group for the last four weeks. The effects of APO on: AS-related metabolic parameters (triglyceride, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, insulin and leptin), oxidative stress (OS), [ malondialdehyde, glutathione, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH)oxidase-2, oxidised-low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) and 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine], low-density lipoprotein and ox-LDL uptake potential (activin receptor-like kinase-1 and lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1, respectively), tissue inflammation inducible-nitric oxide synthase, nitric oxide), programmed cell death (terminal deoxynucleotidyl-transferase-dUTP-nick-end (alpha-smooth muscle actin), histology and ultrastructure of thoracic aorta were evaluated. Results: In obesity, APO had an ameliorative effect on metabolic parameters, OS, inflammation, ED, programmed cell death and oxLDL uptake potential, but not on foam cell formation and LDL uptake potential.     Synthesis and Anti-Hcv Activity of Novel 5-Arylmethylene Derivatives Via Suppression of Ns5b Polymerase and Cox-2

    Hepatitis C (HCV) is a viral infection that leads to forms of acute and chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis (scarring of the liver) and liver cancer. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated in 2019 that approximately 290,000 people died from hepatitis C (mostly from cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma). Directacting antiviral drugs (DAAs) can cure more than 95% of individuals with hepatitis C infection, while research on the discovery of new antiviral agents is still ongoing. The Hepatitis C virus (HCV) can cause various biochemical changes in liver cells, and some of these changes are associated with the COX-2 enzyme. The identification of its role in promoting growth in liver cells as well as its involvement in various cancer types, including hepatocellular carcinoma, has made COX-2 an important target in the development of new agents effective against HCV. In this study, thirty-six new 5-arylmethylene-2-imino-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one derivatives (5a-s, 6a-s) were synthesized through Knoevenagel condensation of 2-[(4-substitutedpyridin-2-yl)imino]-1,3thiazolidin-4-one derivatives with various aldehydes. Structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated by the use of spectral and chromatographic techniques, besides elemental analyses. Four compounds were selected for further studies as they were found to suppress the NS5B protein with anti-HCV activity using the Western Blotting method. The selected compounds 5o, 6m, 6r, and 6s inhibited HCV with EC50 values of 8.0 +/- 0.2 mu M, 13.9 +/- 0.45, 9.2 +/- 0.2 mu M, and 12.1 +/- 0.1 mu M, respectively. It was determined that these compounds reduced HCV-induced COX-2 promoter activity in Ava5 cells compared to Huh7 cells. The antiviral effects of the compounds were also investigated on DENV, closely related to HCV due to sharing certain biological, structural, and mechanical properties throughout their life cycles. However, no significant effect was observed in the preliminary screening study, indicating the compounds' specificity for HCV. Considering the relationship between HCV, DENV, and COX-2, the compounds' COX-1 and COX-2 enzyme inhibition potentials were investigated both in vitro and in silico. Compounds 6d, 6e, 6f, and 6m, which exhibited high selective COX-2 inhibition, were discussed for their interactions with the active site.     Examining the Sensory Processing Skills and Occupational Performance of People With Multiple Sclerosis

Eighty participants were enrolled in this study, 40 with multiple sclerosis and 40 with healthy controls. Participants were between 18 and 65 years of age and asked to complete the Adult Sensory Profile, and Canadian Occupational Performance Measure. The findings of the study revealed that participants with multiple sclerosis had a lower ability to register sensory input, a higher sensory sensitivity, and avoidance, as well as lower levels of performance and satisfaction in their daily occupations, compared to the healthy controls (p < 0.05). People with multiple sclerosis often experience difficulties with sensory processing and occupational performance in daily life. More research and practice are needed on the role of sensory processing and occupational performance in daily life in people with multiple sclerosis.Emerging Sources Citation Inde

    Disaster Risk Perception and Sustainable Earthquake Awareness Among Public and Private University Nursing Students

Methods: The study sample consisted of 400 nursing students studying at one public and one private university. The research was conducted between April and May 2023. The data were collected using a Sociodemographic Form, University Students Disaster Risk Perception Scale (USDRPS), and Sustainable Earthquake Awareness Scale (SEAS). Data were collected online using a questionnaire created on Google Forms. Analyses included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation values, independent groups t-test, post-hoc Tukey test, LSD, and ANOVA test. Results: Of the students, 61.8% had a disaster experience, 17.4% had lost a relative in the disaster, and 76.8% did not consider themselves prepared for a possible disaster. In the study, the exposure sub-dimension score of the disaster risk perception scale was found to be higher in students who had disaster experience than in those who did not (p = 0.032). Nursing students from the private university had higher sustainable earthquake awareness scores than those studying at the state university (p = 0.001). The mean scores of female students on the earthquake preparedness and preparation application sub-dimensions showed a significant difference compared to the scores of male students (p = 0.016). In the study, sustainable earthquake awareness total and earthquake preparedness sub-dimension scores were higher in second-year nursing students than in students of other years (p = 0.042; 0.015). Those who had received disaster training had low scores on the uncontrollable sub-dimension of the disaster risk perception scale, and high scores on the total SEAS and earthquake-structure relationship, earthquake preparedness, and earthquake preparation application sub-dimensions (p < 0.05). Conclusions: In the study, three out of four students did not find themselves prepared for disasters. Those who had disaster experience had higher disaster risk perceptions. Students who had received disaster-related training had more positive earthquake preparedness, earthquake-structure relationship, and earthquake preparation applications than those who had not. Students who were female and were in the second year had higher earthquake awareness. Studies can be carried out to inform people about the pre-disaster and preparation stages to raise awareness about disasters at universities.     Improving Yolo Detection Performance of Autonomous Vehicles in Adverse Weather Conditions Using Metaheuristic Algorithms

In particular, object detection in adverse weather conditions (AWCs) requires complex and computationally costly models to achieve high accuracy rates. Furthermore, the generalization capabilities of these methods struggle to show consistent performance under different conditions. This work focuses on improving object detection using You Only Look Once (YOLO) versions 5, 7, and 9 in AWCs for autonomous vehicles. Although the default values of the hyperparameters are successful for images without AWCs, there is a need to find the optimum values of the hyperparameters in AWCs. Given the many numbers and wide range of hyperparameters, determining them through trial and error is particularly challenging. In this study, the Gray Wolf Optimizer (GWO), Artificial Rabbit Optimizer (ARO), and Chimpanzee Leader Selection Optimization (CLEO) are independently applied to optimize the hyperparameters of YOLOv5, YOLOv7, and YOLOv9. The results show that the preferred method significantly improves the algorithms' performances for object detection.
