Forecasted Nanopumping Mechanism of Carbon Nanotube-Based Architectures Under Varying Electric Field Amplitudes and Atomic Imperfections: A Thermo-Mechanical Examination
The presence of an external electric field and a defective atomic structure can have a substantial impact on nanometric phenomena. This investigation employed molecular dynamics simulations to assess the effect of varying electric field amplitudes and atomic defects, specifically Single-Atom Vacancy Defects, on the displacement of C20 molecules within carbon nanotubes. The approach employed was nanopumping. A variable electric field was applied with amplitudes of 1, 2, 3, 5, and 10 V/& Aring; and a frequency of 10 ps-1. Furthermore, the carbon nanotubes were subjected to atomic defects of 1 %, 2 %, 3 %, and 4 % in the presence of an electric field of 10 V/& Aring;. It is expected that the results of this research will enable a thorough comprehension of the properties of this valuable element and its derivatives, as carbon compounds are of significant economic importance. The molecular dynamics simulations underscored the potential of carbon nanotube samples for mass transport in nanoscale applications. The results suggest that the nanopumping duration for the carbon nanotube sample decreased to 5.66 ps and 8.79 ps as the electric field amplitude and defect ratio increased. An Investigtion of the Relationships Between Personality Beliefs, Defense Styles, Insight Level, and Psychological Resilience in Adults
Bu araştırmada yetişkinlik çağında olan bireylerin kişilik inançları, savunma biçimleri, içgörü düzeyi ve psikolojik dayanıklılık arasındaki ilişkiler araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, yetişkinlik çağında olan 411 katılımcı (315 kadın, 96 erkek) oluşturmaktadır. Veriler çevrimiçi anketler yoluyla toplanmış olup, Kişilik İnanç Ölçeği Kısa Formu, Savunma Biçimleri Testi, İçgörü Ölçeği ve Sıkıntıya Dayanma Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, erkeklerin pasif agresif, obsesif kompulsif, antisosyal, narsisistik, şizoid ve paranoid kişilik inanç puanları ve olgun olmayan savunma mekanizmaları puanları kadınlara kıyasla anlamlı şekilde daha yüksektir. Korelasyon analizleri sonucunda; çekingen, bağımlı, pasif-agresif, obsesif kompulsif, antisosyal, narsisistik, histriyonik, şizoid, paranoid ve borderline kişilik özellikleri ile nevrotik ve olgun olmayan savunma biçimleri arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Öte yandan, olgun savunma mekanizmaları ile obsesif kompulsif, antisosyal, narsisistik, şizoid ve borderline kişilik özellikleri arasında negatif ve anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, belirtilen kişilik özellikleri ile psikolojik dayanıklılık arasında negatif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Benzer şekilde, bu kişilik özellikleri ile içgörü düzeyi arasında da negatif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler saptanmıştır. Savunma biçimleri ile psikolojik dayanıklılık ve içgörü düzeyi arasındaki ilişkiler incelendiğinde; içgörü ile olgun savunma mekanizmaları arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı, içgörü ile ilkel ve nevrotik savunma mekanizmaları arasında ise negatif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, içgörü düzeyi ile psikolojik dayanıklılık arasında da pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Regresyon analizine göre; psikolojik dayanıklılık değişkeni, olgun savunma biçimleri tarafından pozitif yönde, ilkel savunma biçimleri ile çekingen ve bağımlı kişilik özellikleri tarafından ise negatif yönde anlamlı olarak yordanmaktadır. Bu çalışma, yetişkinlik çağındaki bireylerin kişilik inançları, savunma biçimleri, içgörü düzeyi ve psikolojik dayanıklılık arasındaki ilişkileri inceleyerek, bu psikolojik boyutların birbirleriyle nasıl etkileşimde bulunduğunu anlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu psikolojik faktörlerin gelişimsel ve psikodinamik süreçlerle nasıl şekillendiğini anlamak, bu alanlarda literatüre katkı sağlamak hedeflenmektedir.In this study, the relationships between personality beliefs, defense mechanisms, level of insight, and psychological resilience in adults were examined.The sample of the study consisted of 411 adult participants (315 women and 96 men). Data were collected through online surveys using the Short Form of the Personality Belief Questionnaire, the Defense Style Questionnaire, the Insight Scale, and the Distress Tolerance Scale. According to the findings, men scored significantly higher than women on passive-aggressive, obsessive-compulsive, antisocial, narcissistic, schizoid, and paranoid personality beliefs, as well as on immature defense mechanisms. Correlation analyses revealed significant positive relationships between avoidant, dependent, passive-aggressive, obsessive-compulsive, antisocial, narcissistic, histrionic, schizoid, paranoid, and borderline personality traits and both neurotic and immature defense styles. On the other hand, mature defense mechanisms were found to be negatively and significantly associated with obsessive-compulsive, antisocial, narcissistic, schizoid, and borderline personality traits. Moreover, these personality traits were negatively associated with psychological resilience. Similarly, significant negative relationships were found between these personality traits and level of insight. When examining the relationships between defense styles and psychological resilience and insight, a significant positive relationship was found between insight and mature defense mechanisms, while insight was negatively associated with primitive and neurotic defense mechanisms. Additionally, there was a significant positive relationship between level of insight and psychological resilience. According to the regression analysis, psychological resilience was positively predicted by mature defense styles and negatively predicted by primitive defense styles, as well as avoidant and dependent personality traits. This study aims to understand how personality beliefs, defense mechanisms, level of insight, and psychological resilience interact with one another in adulthood. It also seeks to contribute to the literature by exploring how these psychological factors are shaped through developmental and psychodynamic processes

The data were collected in 2016-2018 and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb(-1). This analysis searches for tau lepton pair production in which one of the tau leptons is produced in an excited state and decays to a ground state tau lepton and a photon. The event selection consists of two isolated tau lepton decay candidates and a high-energy photon. The mass of the excited tau lepton is reconstructed using the missing transverse momentum in the event, assuming the momentum of the neutrinos from each tau lepton decay are aligned with the visible decay products. No excess of events above the standard model background prediction is observed. This null result is used to set lower bounds on the excited tau lepton mass. For a compositeness scale Lambda equal to the excited tau lepton mass, excited tau leptons with masses below 4700 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level; for Lambda = 10 TeV this exclusion is set at 2800 GeV. The Oscillatory and Vibrational Characteristics of a Graphene Nanosheet within an Oxygen Fluid Flow, Influenced by Carbon Walls via Molecular Dynamics Simulations
This study employs molecular dynamics simulation to construct an atomic framework comprising oxygen fluid, graphene nanosheets, and carbon walls. The equilibrium of the sample is assessed through the analysis of kinetic and potential energies. The oscillatory behavior of the simulated samples demonstrated a distinct relationship between mechanical strength and pressure levels, as indicated by variations in oscillation frequency and amplitude. As pressure increased within the simulated structures, the interparticle spacing diminished, leading to a heightened attraction among the atomic components. Additional calculations indicate an inverse relationship between the velocity of the simulated fluid and the mechanical strength of the graphene nanosheets. An increase in fluid velocity resulted in an expansion of atomic distances within the simulated structures, which concurrently diminished the attractive forces. This research illustrated that elevating the pressure within the atomic structures to 5 bar led to increases in oscillation amplitude, oscillation frequency, and the ultimate strength of the graphene nanosheets, measuring 8.21 Angstrom, 4.67 fs-1, and 121.29 GPa, respectively. Moreover, increasing the fluid velocity from 0.0001 to 0.005 resulted in an increase in oscillation amplitude from 6.65 to 11.19 Angstrom. Using of Granite Waste as Aggregates for Production of High Strength Cement-Based Artificial Stone
Considering the large amount of waste produced worldwide by natural stone processing factories, which causes environmental pollution, the utilization of natural stone in the construction industry provides a suitable approach for preserving the environment. In this regard, the present study was conducted to investigate the feasibility of utilizing granite waste (GW) as aggregates for the production of high-strength cement-based artificial stone. The novelty of this work is the first-time utilization of GW as the sole aggregate in producing high-strength cement-based artificial stones. For this purpose, 12 concrete mixes were designed and prepared, and physical, mechanical, and microstructural tests were performed. Based on the results, three types of artificial stones with dimensions of 400 x 400 x 20 mm were produced with a Water-to-Binder ratio (W/B) of 0.3, Binder (B) of 1200 kg/m3, and 0, 0.5 and 1% polypropylene fibers. Compressive strength, flexural strength, water absorption, and abrasion resistance tests were performed on artificial stones, as well as on natural stones (granite and travertine), for comparison. The results showed that the highest compressive and flexural strengths, as well as the lowest water absorption, in artificial stones were 112 MPa, 7.4 MPa, and 0.98%, respectively, which meet the requirements of ASTM C1364. The results also revealed that the abrasion, compressive, and flexural strength of artificial stones are lower than those of natural granite but higher than those of travertine. The results of the life cycle assessment further demonstrated that replacing GW in the production of artificial stone can improve environmental indexes: global warming potential by 22.8%, ozone depletion by 31.6%, and human toxicity by 11.1%.Emerging Sources Citation Inde
Myocardial Structural Alterations Induced by Amitriptyline and Paroxetine in a Rat Model of Menopause: A Histomorphometric and Immunohistochemical Study
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effects of amitriptyline (AMI) and paroxetine (PRO) on the histo-morphometrical structure of the heart in an ovariectomized (OVX) rat model. Methods: Twenty-four female, adult Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided to four groups (n=6). While Group 1 was used as the control, rats in Groups 2, 3 and 4 were exposed to bilateral ovariectomy 7 days before the drug treatment. AMI and PRO were given to animals in groups 2, 3 and 4. Following drug administration for 28 days, the hearts of the rats were removed and the heart volume, interstitial tissue and micro-vessels, as well as the number of cardiac myocytes were evaluated by using the Cavalieri principle and physical dissection methods; histological structure was evaluated under a light microscope and immunohistochemical staining for C-Fos and NF-kB antibodies were performed. Results: PRO caused to increase in the volume of the heart and connective tissue. AMI led to increase in the volume of the micro vessels. PRO and especially AMI ameliorate the decreased number of the cardiac myocytes due to OVX. The histological architecture of myocardium was corrupted in AMI and especially PRO treated groups. Also, AMI and PRO induced C-Fos and NF-kb immunoreactivity following OVX procedures in rats. Conclusion: Our study shows that AMI and PRO induce myocardial abnormalities and damage cardiac myocytes. Therefore, clinicians should make treatment decisions on a case-by-case basis, considering the detailed anamnesis of each patient with post-menopausal depression.Emerging Sources Citation Inde
Yetişkin Bireylerde Anneden Algılanan Narsisizm, Ayrılma Bireyleşme ve Savunma Mekanizmaları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi
Bu araştırmanın amacı, yetişkin bireylerde anneden algılanan narsisistik özellikler, ayrılma bireyleşme ve savunma mekanizmaları arasındaki ilişkileri incelemek, anneden algılanan narsisistik özelliklerin ayrılma bireyleşme güçlüğünü yordayıp yordamadığını belirlemek, anneden algılanan narsisistik özelliklerin ilkel savunma mekanizmaları kullanımı arasındaki ilişki olup olmadığını tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın örneklemi İstanbul'da yaşayan 20-40 yaş arasındaki toplam 356 katılımcıdan oluşmaktadır. Araştırma verilerini toplamak amacıyla Demografik Bilgi Formu, Anneden Algılanan Narsisistik Özellikler Ölçeği, Ayrılma Bireyleşme Envanteri ve Savunma Biçimleri Testi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi için SPSS 27.0 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Pearson Korelasyon Analizi, Bağımsız Örneklem T-testi, Çoklu Regresyon Analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, anneden algılanan narsisistik özelliklerin ayrılma bireyleşme güçlüğünü yordadığı tespit edilmiştir. Anneden algılanan narsisistik özellikler ile kullanılan olgun savunma mekanizmaları arasında negatif yönde bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Anneden algılanan narsisistik özellikler ile ilkel savunma mekanizmaları kullanımı arasında anlamlı pozitif yönde bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların yaşadıkları ayrılma bireyleşme güçlüğü ile kullandıkları ilkel savunma mekanizmaları arasında anlamlı pozitif bir ilişki bulunmuştur.The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between perceived maternal narcissistic traits, separation-individuation, and defense mechanisms in adults, to determine whether perceived maternal narcissistic traits predict separation-individuation difficulties, and to identify if there is a relationship between perceived maternal narcissistic traits and the use of primitive defense mechanisms. The study sample consists of 356 participants aged 20 to 40 living in Istanbul. To collect data, the Demographic Information Form, Perceived Maternal Narcissism Scale, Separation-İndividuation Inventory, and Defense Style Questionnaire were used. Data analysis was conducted using the SPSS 27.0 software package, employing Pearson Correlation Analysis, Independent Samples T-test, and Multiple Regression Analysis. According to the study results, perceived maternal narcissistic traits were found to predict difficulties in separation-individuation. A negative relationship was identified between perceived maternal narcissistic traits and the use of mature defense mechanisms. Furthermore, a significant positive relationship was found between perceived maternal narcissistic traits and the use of primitive defense mechanisms. A New Scoring System for Predicting the Risk for Mitral Regurgitation and Its Severity in Patients with Mitral Valve Prolapse
Background: Due to the possibility of occurrence and exacerbation of mitral regurgitation (MR) in the context of mitral valve prolapse (MVP) in a significant portion of patients, early and non-invasive prediction of this complication based on clinical and echocardiographic parameters is important and vital. This prediction can essentially be based on the provision of efficient grading systems. Objectives: We aimed to achieve this goal by identifying factors predicting the exacerbation of MR and classifying them in the form of a new scoring system. Methods: One hundred and five patients with suspected MVP were included in this cross-sectional study and assessed by echocardiography. The patients underwent echocardiography, and the severity of the MR, as well as structural changes of valves due to prolapse (leaflets and scallops involvements), was determined. Results: In a multivariable logistic regression model, age > 40 years, posterior mitral valve leaflet (PMVL) involvement, and P2 or A2P2 scallop involvement were identified as the main risk determinants for moderate to severe MR. These factors were structured as a new scoring system (scaled 3 to 10), where a total risk score of less than 6, between 6 to 8, and higher than 8 was considered low, moderate, and high risk for moderate to severe MR, respectively. Blunt Chest Trauma-Related Cardiovascular Intervention in Two Pediatric Cases. A Silent Threat
Blunt thoracic traumas due to traffic accidents or falls from a height may conceal the degree of the underlying injury, leading to an underestimation of the actual clinical picture. Two pediatric poly-traumatized patients were admitted to the emergency room following traffic accidents. The first patient was overrun by a motor vehicle and seemed to be doing well in ICU when, all of a sudden, he developed heart failure with hemodynamic instability on day 14. Transesophageal and color flow Doppler echocardiography demonstrated an acquired 10 mm ventricular septal defect with left-to-right shunting into the right pulmonary artery. The second case demonstrated a right-side pneumothorax, a left-side hemothorax, and hemomediastinum, accompanying spleen, liver, kidney, and extremity injuries following a motorcycle accident. Computed tomography scan of the thorax further revealed an image suggesting thoracic aortic transection. The initial case underwent a successful repair of the ventricular septal defect via open cardiac surgery. A transcatheter aortic stent graft was successfully placed in the second case. Although it is rare, in severe thoracic trauma, we must be aware of the possibility and search for the presence of a silent cardiovascular or intracardiac injury, as it may be fatal in origin requiring rapid intervention. Clinical Impact: Conditions requiring surgical intervention due to blunt thoracic trauma are rare in children. We emphasized the need to exclude cardiac pathologies by using imaging methods even if the patient is stable during the initial evaluation in the emergency room.
