What Goes Around Comes Around: the Loop of Physical Teen Dating Violence Perpetration Among Turkish Adolescents
Compared to Western literature, little is known about teen dating violence perpetration (DVP) in Turkey. One risk factor of physical teen DVP may lie within teens' witnessing interparental physical violence perpetration and subsequent accepting attitudes toward physical partner violence as a risk factor. Informed by the intergenerational transmission (IGT) of violence theory, we investigated attitudes toward physical partner violence as a likely mechanism that might account for the association between witnessing interparental physical violence perpetration and physical teen DVP. In a sample of 242 Turkish teens, the prevalence of teen DVP was 32.0% for females and 28.4% for males, with no significant gender difference. The results of the moderated mediation analyses confirmed the hypothesized model for men only. IGT of violence theory offers good guidance in understanding the etiology of physical teen DVP. For prevention practices, accepting attitudes toward physical partner violence seems a hurdle that needs to be breached
Assessment of the Measurement and Prediction Methods for the Acoustic Properties of Natural Fiber Samples and Evaluation of Their Properties
Although some studies have been conducted to show how natural fibers canreplace synthetic materials, the use of many natural fibers is still limited. Onthe other hand, the use of natural fibers can become very common in manyapplications once their performance is fully understood. This paper aims topresent a critical assessment of the acoustic properties of natural fibersamples. First, the methods commonly used for the measurement and prediction of the acoustic properties of natural fiber samples are determined.Second, the common techniques for measuring sound absorption coefficients (SACs) and sound transmission losses (STLs) are presented, and theiradvantages and limitations are evaluated. After that, the models commonlyused for the prediction of acoustic properties are presented. Then, the SACsof many natural fiber samples are presented along with the thickness, bulkdensity and flow resistivity of the samples. Furthermore, the SACs of thesamples are normalized using sample thickness and bulk density, and thesound absorption performance of the fiber samples is evaluated. Based onthe results of many natural fiber samples, an empirical model for estimatingthe SACs of natural fiber samples is presented. Finally, the STLs of someporous natural fiber samples are presented.TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) under Grant

Credit Risk Estimation With Machine Learning and Artifical Neural Networks Algorithms
Credit risk assessment is very important for financial institutions today. The probability that a financial institution customer will not be able to repay the credits used is called credit risk. Financial institutions accept or reject credit applications. Institutions evaluate credit applications according to the personal information of the customers, life situation, loyalty, etc. If these data are below various values, financial institutions reject the application. The organization rejected the application because the client anticipated financial difficulties in the future. In the project, "German Credit" data on the Kaggle platform was used. In this data set, customers information and credit status are found as "good" and "bad". By using these data, it is aimed to evaluate new credit application requests. The data set used was passed through various pre-data processing steps and models such as Logistic Regression, Artificial Neural Networks, K-NN, Support Vector, Naïve Bayes, Decision Trees, Random Forest, LGBM and XGB were trained. The highest accuracy is achieved using the XGB model. (0.74
Examination of the construction works of a highway project with project management techniques in terms of cost and time
Identification of Uncertainty Levels of Acoustic Properties of Biocomposites Under Different Mounting Conditions in Impedance Tube Tests
Impedance tube method is widely used to measure acoustic properties of materials. Although this method yields reliable acoustic properties for soft textured materials, uncertainty levels of measured acoustic properties for hard materials, including biocomposites, can be quite large, mainly due to uncertain mounting conditions. Here, the effects of mounting conditions on the acoustic properties of biocomposites in an impedance tube are investigated. First, nominally identical biocomposite samples with a diameter equal to the inner diameter of impedance tube are manufactured and their acoustic properties are determined. As hard materials practically cause fitting problems in the impedance tube, the diameters of samples are reduced, as in practice, by small amounts and acoustic properties of modified samples are determined. Furthermore, in order to match the diameters of samples to the inner diameter of impedance tube, different materials such as tape, petroleum jelly and cotton are applied around samples to close the air gap between the samples and the tube's inner wall. All the results are compared, and the uncertainty levels caused by different mounting conditions on the acoustic properties of biocomposites are identified. The results show that the transmission loss (TL) measurements are dramatically affected by the mounting conditions while the sound absorption conditions are less sensitive to the mounting conditions. The deviations in the measured TL levels are highest for the samples with tape and wax (10–15 dB). On the other hand, the deviations in the measured sound absorption coefficients are highest for the samples with cotton and tape (1–2%)
The Relationship Between Dark Triad Personality Traits and Sexting Behaviors Among Adolescents and Young Adults Across 11 Countries
Background: Sexting is an increasingly common phenomenon among adolescents and young adults. Some studies have investigated the role of personality traits in different sexting behaviors within mainstream personality taxonomies like Big Five and HEXACO. However, very few studies have investigated the role of maladaptive personality factors in sexting. Therefore, the present study investigated the relationship between Dark Triad Personality Traits and experimental (i.e., sharing own sexts), risky (i.e., sexting under substance use and with strangers), and aggravated sexting (i.e., non-consensual sexting and sexting under pressure) across 11 countries. Methods: An online survey was completed by 6093 participants (Mage = 20.35; SDage = 3.63) from 11 different countries which covered four continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, and America). Participants completed the Sexting Behaviors Questionnaire and the 12-item Dark Triad Dirty Dozen scale. Results: Hierarchical regression analyses showed that sharing own sexts was positively predicted by Machiavellianism and Narcissism. Both risky and aggravated sexting were positively predicted by Machiavellianism and Psychopathy. Conclusions: The present study provided empirical evidence that different sexting behaviors were predicted by Dark Triad Personality Traits, showing a relevant role of Machiavellianism in all kinds of investigated sexting behaviors. Research, clinical, and education implications for prevention programs are discussed
Bİ-Yardimli Dağitik Depolama Ağlannda Ortalama Bant Genişliği Maliyeti ve Depolama Ödunleşimi Average
In this study, we consider a hierarchically structured base station (BS)-assisted cellular system equipped with a backend distributed data storage in which nodes randomly arrive and depart the cell. We numerically motivate and characterize the fundamental trade-off between the average repair bandwidth cost versus storage space where BS communication cost (higher than that of local) and link capacity constraints exist while the number of failed nodes can vary dynamically. We establish the capacity region that is most relevant to 5G and beyond networks, which are layered by design. We hope that this study shall motivate novel regeneration code constructions that will be able to achieve the presented limits
An Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna Design for Torso Imaging in a Coupling Medium
NSPEC Accession Number: 20591604An antipodal Vivaldi antenna designed to operate in a coupling medium with a relative dielectric constant of epsilon(r) = 25 for microwave imaging of torso is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna is similar to the conventional antipodal Vivaldi antenna but with optimized parameters to radiate in the desired coupling medium. The antenna has a size of 120x70 mm(2) and operating over 230-1000 MHz frequency bandwidth with a peak gain of 5.42 dBi and peak front-to-back ratio of 143 dB. The designed antenna shows a better performance compared to other antennas used for microwave torso imaging. To assess the actual performance, a realistic human torso phantom is implemented to detect the water accumulation in the lungs, and as the inversion method linear sampling method is used. The 3-D reconstruction results show that the proposed antenna can be a candidate for microwave torso imaging applications
