Examining the Role of Dark and Light Triad Traits on Sociosexuality
No full textSociosexual orientation-the tendency toward casual sex, is associated with dispositional components of personality such as higher scores of Dark Triad traits (narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy). Yet, it remains unknown which specific Dark Triad traits and Light Triad traits (Kantianism, Humanism, and Faith in Humanity) predict sociosexuality and its dimensions while controlling for the others. In the current study, using an online community sample (N = 308), we examined the links between Dark Triad traits, Light Triad traits, overall sociosexuality, and sociosexuality dimensions (attitude, behavior, desire). Using hierarchical regression, we found that only psychopathy emerged as the predictor of behavior, desire, attitude dimensions, and sociosexuality total score. This effect held when controlling for age, sex, relationship status, the other two Dark personality traits, and the Light Triad. Building a Community Through a Design Build Studio Program
No full textThis paper aims to provide a comprehensive and critical assessment of the outcomes stemming from a Design-Build program, a pedagogical approach widely adopted by educational institutions worldwide. These programs are instrumental in equipping students with vital practical skills, often unattainable within the confines of a conventional studio environment. While the objectives of this program align with those of similar initiatives in various educational institutions, an examination reveals an unexpected and substantial outcome. Beyond its primary goals, the Design-Build program has played an integral role in instilling a culture of collaboration and camaraderie within the school, thereby significantly contributing to the overall success of its architectural education. All stages of the program consist of collaborative processes, instilling from an early age the importance of working together by helping each other than individual competition

No full textAnonim ortaklıklar, sermayesi belirli ve paylara bölünmüş, ortaklarının yalnızca taahhüt ettikleri sermaye miktarıyla sorumlu olduğu, devri serbestisi ve sınırlı sorumluluk ve geniş yatırımcı tabanı gibi özelliklere sahip ortaklıklardır. Anonim ortaklık payları nama veya hamiline yazılı şeklinde çıkarılabilecek ve kural olarak pay senetlerine bağlanacaktır. Çıplak paylar, henüz senede bağlanmamış ya da ilmühaber düzenlenmemiş payları ifade etmektedir. 6102 sayılı Türk Ticaret Kanunu'nda, senede bağlanmış payların devri için öngörülen şekil şartlarının aksine, çıplak payların devrine ilişkin herhangi bir şekil şartı düzenlenmemiştir. Bu durum, kanun koyucunun payların senede bağlanmasını temel bir ilke olarak benimsediğini düşündürmektedir. Ancak, çıplak payların devri ve diğer hukuki işlemlere konu olması, ticari hayatın gerekleri doğrultusunda bir ihtiyaç olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, uygulamada, çıplak pay devri ile ilgili irade sakatlıkları, devrin hüküm ve sonuçları ile devrin bağlam hükümlerine dayanılarak kısıtlanmasına dair çeşitli sorunlar sıkça gündeme gelmektedir.Joint-stock companies are partnerships with certain capital and divided into shares, in which the partners are only liable for the amount of capital they have committed, with features such as freedom of transfer and limited liability, and a broad investor base. Shares of a joint stock company may be issued in registered or bearer form and, as a rule, will be linked to share certificates. Uncertificated shares represent shares that have not yet been issued. Unlike the formal requirements for the transfer of shares with certificates, no formal requirements are stipulated in the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102 for the transfer of uncertificated shares. This situation suggests that the legislator has adopted the binding of shares to a certificate as a fundamental principle. However, the transfer of uncertificated share and their subject to other legal transactions emerges as a necessity in line with the requirements of commercial life. In this context, in practice, various problems regarding the will disabilities regarding the transfer of uncertificated shares, the terms and consequences of the transfer, and the restriction of the transfer based on the provisions of the context frequently come to the fore

Water Diplomacy between Türkiye and Iraq: Pathways, Challenges, and Future Prospects
No full textSystematic analyses of transboundary water relations in the Euphrates-Tigris basin reveal that key riparian states—Türkiye, Syria, and Iraq—favor water diplomacy over conflict. Despite political instability, including the Syrian civil war, Türkiye and Iraq have re-engaged in formal and informal water diplomacy mechanisms. This paper argues that water diplomacy in this region will likely continue to adapt to the evolving dynamics of conflict impacting transboundary water relations. Notably, cooperation on water issues between Türkiye and Iraq is closely linked with their security collaboration, whose success will likely depend on socioeconomic developments that support fair and sustainable water use across the region. The paper further emphasizes the need to prioritize the swift implementation of existing agreements that address future water availability and demand, particularly in the context of climate change
