International audienceThis article focuses on the fortune of a cliché, or rather, a received idea: the proclamation of the return/awakening of the art of eloquence after a guilty millennium of abandonment and darkness, thanks to the Italian leaders of the "sciences of humanity". The aim is to highlight the fact that a stereotyped phraseology of revocatio was stabilized in the writings of the first humanists from the early 15th century, to designate their own activities, and rapidly became commonplace in scholarly practice and public discourse, being associated moreover with a narrative system around the heroes of the renaissance of letters, generally started with Petrarch. This typical lexical repertoire, articulated to the story of the founders, served as a common code of identification for the successive actors in the humanist movement, themselves part of the continuity of an ascendance to the first pathfinders. Not only did the new protagonists of European humanism seize upon it in turn at the turn of the 16th century, to pay a now obligatory and consensual tribute to the Italian pioneers of the return of eloquence, but also the imagination of the end of barbarism became a lasting part of the mental landscape of Western elites.

International audienceThe CHICA-AI project aims to build a computer-assisted learning activity for training the reading comprehension skills of primary school pupils. This activity involves asking students to orally sum- marize a narrative text, in order to identify their comprehension difficulties and provide personalized feedback to the pupil and their teacher. To do this, we’ll be implementing an automatic system for fine-grained analysis of oral summaries, capable of extracting relevant information and combining it to fill out a grid of pedagogical and psycho-cognitive criteria. We present here the challenges of the project, as well as the first tasks carried out : creation of the activity in the Lalilo platform and of the pedagogical content, audio recordings collection, construction of the annotation protocol. Finally, we present the preliminary analyses executed on the first annotations, which will be used to train and evaluate our automatic system.
Deep divergence time within the Mediterranean narrow endemic plant Arenaria provincialis (Caryophyllaceae)
Data used in this study were produced by the Molecular and Cell Biology facility (IMBE, Aix Marseille University) and by the Plateform GeT‐PlaGe ‐ Genotoul facilty (Toulouse University). All bioinformatics were done on the High-Performance Computing Cluster from the Pytheas IT facility (OSU Institut Pytheas Aix Marseille Univ). The PNCal delivered the authorization to collect plant material.International audienceThe origin of narrow endemic plants is a long-standing issue in Mediterranean biogeography. Estimates of divergence time may provide new insights into the likely pivotal periods in the evolutionary history of narrow endemics. Here, based on transcriptomic data and benefiting from the phylogenomic data provided by the Plant and Fungal Trees of Life Project (PAFTOL), we examined the origin of the narrow endemic plant Arenaria provincialis. We used several nuclear and plastid loci to conduct divergence time analyses embracing uncertainty of node age calibrations, allowing us to provide a new time tree for the plastid lineages of this species. The results clearly support a deep divergence time within A. provincialis that likely occurred during the Pliocene. This timeline shows that the evolutionary history of A. provincialis is closely linked to the geological and climatic changes that shaped the massifs of Provence (southeast France) before the Pleistocene. Our study also illustrates the contribution of the open and comprehensive PAFTOL project to divergence time analyse
Climate Change and Viticulture in Liguria: Regional Perceptions, Impacts, and Adaptive Responses
International audienceLigurian viticulture is characterized by a fragmented landscape and diverse microclimatic conditions, presenting both challenges and opportunities for grape production under climate change. This study investigates the perceived impacts of climate change on viticulture in Eastern (Levante) and Western (Ponente) Liguria, with a focus on vine growth dynamics, productivity, and the adaptation strategies adopted by local winegrowers. Semi-structured interviews with 48 winemakers revealed significant shifts in grape maturation (p < 0.001), earlier harvest dates, and increased vulnerability to fungal diseases (p < 0.01), primarily driven by rising temperatures and altered precipitation regimes. A notable rise in extreme temperature events (p < 0.01) was reported, with all respondents (100%) observing irregular seasonal temperature fluctuations. Furthermore, climate change was linked to changes in local fauna, particularly the expansion of ungulate populations (p < 0.001), leading to increased vineyard damage. In response, growers have adopted a range of adaptive measures, including drought-resistant rootstocks (e.g., M-series), traditional training systems (Guyot, Alberello), and local innovations such as the low pergola in Cinque Terre. Principal component analysis (PCA) revealed region-specific adaptation profiles, underscoring the influence of environmental and agronomic variability on viticultural resilience. Logistic regression identified temperature variability, disease incidence, and precipitation shifts as key predictors of perceived climate impact. The results underscore the urgency of developing regionally tailored adaptation strategies to sustain viticulture in Liguria’s complex and changing landscape
