The reality of what people with multiple disabilities experience is complex and painful. Aging accentuates the problems, the attenuation or loss of several senses (sight, hearing ...) as well as cognitive disorders organize conditions of loneliness and suffering which require institutional responses going beyond simple care. Physical and sensory activities can certainly be one of the answers. They mobilize knowledge and know-how often located at the interface of therapeutic and educational activities, without losing what makes their specificity : the field of education. Those around them must leave the initiative to the person with multiple disabilities, as a fundamental right, by creating a safe and stimulating environment. The acquisition of a maximum of autonomy is inextricably linked to the vision that management has of their potentials, however residual they may be. "The multiple handicap traps the subject behind the image of his appearance, especially when he is deprived of his verbal expression. The real capacities of attachment, of comprehension, of the relational and intuitive minimum must be patiently deciphered" (Truscelli, 2008).It is about strengthening these potentials while allowing the person to manage their need for help. This means of acquiring autonomy during physical mobilization must prevail at all stages of learning, whatever the field and environment. The design, content, and educational approach of all these activities involve, as we will see, transdisciplinary work in close collaboration with all professionals in the sector. This knowledge sharing still requires a major decompartmentalization effort necessary for the implementation of a quality educational approach
Bridging the potential-realization gap: one educator’s journey toward a praxis for personal and collective liberation
In this personal essay, I discuss how shifts in my positionality as an educator changed the dynamics of power between me and my students, how the threshold between informal education and the School marked a clear delineation of power that placed us on opposite sides. My journey as an educator paralleled my personal journey as a Black man in the United States, during which I had to navigate the troubled intersection between race and disability. Along the way I became aware of a “potential-realization gap” — internalized as a hovering sense of inadequacy, and externalized as a deep disillusionment with people and the world. Where once race had operated on my consciousness from the margins, certain experiences forced me to contend with my identity in ways I had been able to avoid before, in part due to a stark divide between mind and body. With racial consciousness came indignation, manifest in my orientation as a teacher activist, and which I imposed upon my students as the imperative for their — but not my own — liberation. Wading through toxic environments, spaces of collective trauma and bureaucratic rot, any attempts to make change were usually met with fierce resistance. This disconnect, between mind and body, theory and praxis, school and community, reality and my ideals — exacerbated by racial trauma and ADHD — tore a jagged fissure through my career. Lost in all of this were the young people I was ostensibly fighting for, yet for so long failed to recognize as agents in their own liberation. I had sought in vain the pedagogical method, the repositioning, the creative freedom — something — that would allow me to reconcile the disparities. But it wasn’t until I approached the decision to leave schools in favor of community education, that I discovered participatory action research (PAR), and with it the need to ground my own work, and that of my charges, in identity, history, shared struggle, and building community. In PAR, I discovered the possibility for collective liberation — a means for bridging the gap within myself, and between myself and the communities I serve.
Can we locate the old age as a developing condition? In our view, the answer is that, old age doesn’t exist in itself. Old age finds its basis through interactions within specific normative groups. We are old only if we accept it and / or if we are seen that way to a certain extent. The actualization of these interactions gives rise for the emergence of simulacra. This is our hypothesis: faced with institutional definitions, "universally anchored" with which it can be associated, old age can only be established at the risk of its abstraction. Here come rhetorics, affects, axiologies, etc. point of view of cognition, that is to say the three notions considered as the three aesthetic dimensions of discourse

In Peru, cultural diversity, conceptualized as wealth, was put into question with this pandemic. It brought us to our knees and it was impossible to reach the confines of the Amazonian indigenous peoples. From anthropologists to senior health officials, at first, they did not know how to face this new situation. There were two obstacules: the remoteness of the indigenous peoples and their diverse worldview (attitude towards life and death). If you did not know how to confront evil, you did not know how to reach indigenous peoples, and confront behavioral diversity.Death struck these towns: while the officials arranged their speeches and organized brigades to go to these towns, the “Comando Matico” arose at the iniciative of the indigenous people themselves, in Yarinacocha, in the province of Coronel Portillo, town of Shipibos and Conibos. The wisdom of the elderly took the form of an emergency brigade, itinerant, easily mobile and claimed the benefits of a plant: the matico.During the first wave of the pandemic, this Command that was constituted as groups of specialits who have served more than a thousand people. The important thing about the process is that they were not radicalized only with traditional medicine, but combined with clinical pharmacopea. This presentation deals with the process in which this Command was established, the role of the elderly and their ancestral wisdom, for the care of patients. Finally, the appreciation that the population, the academy and the State have about this sui generis experience. The National Center for Intercultural Health of the Ministry of Health of Peru, has paid attention to analyze the components of the plant, as well as the method of treatment of Covid 19 ills in the indigenous peoples of the Amazon
Outra dificuldade foi voltar ao Brasil deixando para trás uma senhora idosa, sozinhaThis is a description of an in loco experience of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in Barcelona/Catalonia between 28 February and 19 March 2020. At that time, the first two cases were confirmed in Catalonia (one in Girona and the other in Sant Cugat del Vallès) and there were 11592 people ill and 672 deaths when we left the city for São Paulo and, on this flight, we discovered that it was the company's last until the end of the health crisis. Initially, Spain as a whole enters a state of care and then, on March 14, the state of alarm that establishes that people had to stay in their homes and could circulate on public roads, always individually, unless accompanied by disabled people, minors, elderly, or for another justified cause. However, in everyday life, confinement had already been in place for two days. We were confined with our friend, an 82-year-old lady in a flat in Aragon Street. This article narrates in first person these days of tension, worry and uncertainty and even fear of what could happen. Since it was an old woman's apartment, the TV was always on, so it was possible to analyze how the media would treat the subject of the pandemic knowing that people were confined. Another difficulty was to return to Brazil, leaving behind an old woman alone and confined at her apartment
Europe will encourage ecosystems to promote the dissemination of Aging Well and innovation. In Portugal, soon the oldest country in Europe, the city of Coimbra, where the very old and considered University has a particularly strong and legitimate place in its territory of the Center Region, was able to initiate with tact and talent the program Aging@Coimbra, looking for development levers in connection with the European Union.Following his example, steakholders involved in Aging Well issues can thus come together and collaborate within an AgingWell (BienVieillir) Ecosystem while keeping all initiative and freedom. They get involved by agreeing to contribute to a simply expressed objective chart and to promote their good practices. The scientific and political conceptual frameworks of Aging Well include models of ecological gerontology driven by the citizen’s needs and engagement, and the international, European or French supports of Aging Well policies.Aging Well ecosystems can be related either more to the provision of care and research, like the model of the Gérontopôle de Toulouse, or rather more to the citizen and professional expression of the population's needs to ageing well, such as the 'BienVieillir Grenoble - Isère Ecosystem initiative
