First records of Trithemis kirbyi Selys, 1891 in the Maltese islands (Odonata: Libellulidae)

A social beauty: distribution, ecology and conservation of Iris oratoria in the Central Mediterranean Region
Get PDFThe distribution and knowledge on the Mediterranean mantid Iris oratoria (Linnaeus, 1785) is here updated. Despite is beautiful appearance and presence in the social media, the scientific knowledge on its real distribution is poor and incomplete and this may affect its conservation at local scales. Citizen science records have been here compared with traditional science records, here updated with many new and original localities: this species is reported for the first time for Libya, Malta, Calabria and many Mediterranean islands and islets. The ecological preferences have been investigated in a retrodunal transect to investigate the preferred vegetation patterns for this species. The general value of citizen science records in evaluating the real distribution of a species have been tested here, using Iris oratoria as a case study for further investigations

Application of the logical sustainability theory to the Swedish pension system. Logical Sustainability Indicator and Balance Ratio, two indicators in comparison
Get PDFOur study focuses on the application of the Logical Sustainability Theory (LST) to the Swedish Pension System, which is a Notional Defined Contribution pension scheme with an automatic balance mechanism that should be able to restore its long-run balance. In our opinion, this mechanism does not ensure the sustainability in a logical-mathematical key. Vice-versa, the LST does it in a logical-mathematical key by means of the Logical Sustainability Indicator (LSI). Indeed, the LST, introduced in Angrisani (2006, 2008) up to Angrisani and Di Palo (2019), is a Theory completely developed for defined contribution pension systems with a funded component. Assumed the Swedish Pension System “adjusted” to the LST hypotheses, the LST basic Beta Indicator, which provides the level of the “unfunded pension liability” in relation to wages, has been calculated. Applying the rule on the rate of return on the pension liability that stabilizes this Indicator, a Sufficient Condition for the sustainability of the pension system with a constant contribution rate is introduced and applied to the Swedish Pension System. Data are provided by the Swedish Pension System Annual Report for year 2017. The comparison between the LSI and the Swedish Balance Ratio is also carried out

Get PDFDagli anni Novanta, il mercato internazionale della moda è stato sempre più influenzato dal cosiddetto fast fashion, un modello di business caratterizzato dalla produzione rapida di un’ampia varietà di capi, che si rinnovano continuamente, con modelli che seguono le ultime tendenze della moda a prezzi bassi. Il gruppo imprenditoriale spagnolo Inditex, capogruppo del marchio Zara, è quello che ha meglio sviluppato questo modello di business, diventando il più grande rivenditore di moda al mondo. Nel 2019, con quasi 180.000 dipendenti e 7.500 negozi sparsi in un centinaio di paesi, le sue vendite hanno superato i 28.000 milioni di euro. Questo articolo analizza la traiettoria di Inditex, dalle sue origini, nei primi anni Sessanta, ad oggi, mostrando le diverse fasi della sua evoluzione e approfondendo le cause del suo successo. L’articolo presta particolare attenzione alle fonti di vantaggio competitivo di Inditex, che sono anche la chiave per comprendere il recente successo internazionale di altre aziende di moda spagnole. Environmental and energetic implications of the geothermal anomalies in the Eastern Po Plan
No full textThe present research is devoted to contributing on the characterization of the low-to-medium enthalpy geothermal resources existing in the broader Ferrara-Modena territory, Northern Italy. To achieve the goal, first, we analysed temperature data in selected deep boreholes to estimate the local thermophysical parameters of the underground. In order to discriminate the influence of the circulation fluids and then estimate the real temperature values of the surrounding rocks, we applied different methodological approaches. Secondly, different deep seismic reflection profiles for hydrocarbon exploration were analysed to evaluate the main lithological formation and tectonic assessment. Thirdly, we elaborated hydrochemical data obtained from borehole and temperature logs measurement to estimate the influence of the deep geothermal fluids on the shallow aquifer systems. Finally, the integrated analysis of all data allowed to infer both the horizontal and vertical temperature distributions, which are clearly strongly affected by the geological, hydrogeological and tectonic evolution of the eastern sector of the Po Plain, and especially to recognize the area with a highest geothermal potential within the region
