A CRITICAL STUDY OF CO₂ SEQUESTRATION IN WASTEWATER SYSTEMS AND IT'S MANAGEMENT

    Get PDF
The escalating levels of carbon dioxide (CO₂) in the atmosphere have been identified as a key driver of climate change, making CO₂ sequestration an urgent environmental priority. Conventional methods such as carbon capture and storage (CCS) focus on reducing emissions at the source, but these techniques often face scalability and economic challenges. In this context, wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), which are ubiquitous in urban environments, present an underutilized opportunity for both managing pollutants and mitigating CO₂ emissions. By leveraging bioprocessing technologies, such as algae-based systems, microbial electrochemical technologies (METs), and integrated bioreactor designs, wastewater systems can be transformed into effective tools for CO₂ sequestration. This article explores innovative bioprocessing approaches for enhancing CO₂ capture in wastewater systems. Through a thorough examination of the mechanisms behind these technologies, the challenges to large-scale implementation, and recent advancements, we present a vision for integrating CO₂ sequestration with wastewater treatment. The proposed solutions not only contribute to climate change mitigation but also offer potential for creating sustainable, circular economies by reusing captured carbon for beneficial purposes such as biofuel production and nutrient recycling

    Get PDF
The article highlights the importance of catering enterprises. The new economic situation has changed the public's attitude toward catering enterprises, with their development being seen as beneficial for the population. This thought must be accepted, as catering enterprises provide jobs with moderate salaries for tens of thousands of people, which is reassuring for society. In this regard, the article presents specific approaches to defining the path from final outcomes, such as salary and profit indicators. It is noted that a number of scientific perspectives and solutions will lead to a significant conclusion, proving that all problems are inextricably linked to the improvement of the general system of enterprises and the pricing of self-produced goods in catering enterprises. The article suggests the need to stimulate the growth of the volume of self-produced goods and services through financial levers and to achieve an optimal combination of the economic interests of enterprises and the state as a whol

Innovative Approaches in Microalgae-Based Bioremediation: Engineered Strains and Nanotechnology for Heavy Metal and Emerging Contaminant Removal

    Get PDF
The escalating levels of heavy metal pollution in industrial wastewater have emerged as a significant environmental concern. Traditional methods for mitigating heavy metal contamination, such as chemical treatments and physical filtration, often come with high costs and environmental risks. In recent years, microalgae-based bioremediation has gained traction as an innovative, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly approach for detoxifying heavy metals in wastewater. Microalgae, due to their high surface area, rapid growth rates, and inherent ability to uptake and accumulate heavy metals, offer a promising solution for reducing contamination. This article explores recent advancements in microalgae-based bioremediation techniques, the mechanisms underlying metal uptake and detoxification, and the potential applications in wastewater treatment. The review also highlights the challenges and future directions in optimizing this bioremediation method for large-scale industrial applications

Analysis and Design of G+3 Commercial Building using ETABS

    Get PDF
The analysis and design of a commercial building using ETABS involves creating a detailed architectural and structural plan, developing a three-dimensional model of the building, analyzing the structure to determine internal forces and stresses, optimizing the design, and documenting the results. The process requires careful consideration of many factors, including building codes, materials, loads, and regulations. By using ETABS software, designers and engineers can accurately analyze and optimize the design of a commercial building to ensure its structural integrity and compliance with all requirements. The end result is a safe and efficient building that meets the needs of its occupants and stakeholders. Overall, the design and analysis of a G+3 commercial building using ETABS involves a detailed and complex process that requires careful consideration of many different factors. It is crucial to work with a team of experienced professionals to ensure the best possible outcome for the project. The use of Etabs in commercial building design and analysis is justified by its ability to handle complex geometries and load conditions, as well as its advanced analysis capabilities. It allows engineers to consider multiple design options and optimize the building structural performance while also ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and standards. 1. The descriptive survey design was used and the sample was made up of 7 principals and 70 teachers selected from GBHS Atiela, GBHS Bayelle and St. Paul’s college Nkwen in Mezam III Sub-division. In selecting the area of study and respondents, the researcher made use of the simple random and purposive sampling techniques. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaires for teachers and interview guide for principals. The Content Validity Index (CVI) was 0.8 and the overall reliability of the instrument was 0.903. Data was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. SPSS verssion (23.0) was used for descriptive statistics with frequency counts percentage. Inferential statistics were used to analyze qualitative data, while quantitative data was analyzed using systematic analysis. The spearman rho correlation test was used to establish the relationship between instructional supervision and effective teaching. Findings showed that there was a significant positive relationship between trained personnel and effective teaching. (P=0.000<0.05). The strong positive sign of the correlation value (R=0.0623) implies that teaching is more likely to be effective when teachers are adequately and professionally trained. The above findings revealed that instructional supervision is an inevitable tool in promoting effective teaching in secondary schools. It is therefore recommended that
