PMA2020 Niger (Niamey) Round 1 Household & Female Survey (2015)

    No full text
Niger (Niamey) Round 1 Household and Female (HQFQ) survey used a sampling strategy stratified by Niamey’s 5 communes to select a total of 33 enumeration areas (EA) drawn from the sampling frame provided by the fourth General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH) conducted by Niger’s National Statistics Institute (INS) in 2012. Within each selected EA, 35 households were randomly selected. Occupants in selected households were enumerated and eligible females of reproductive age (15-49) were contacted and consented for interview. Data collection took place between July and August 2015. The complete analytic sample includes 1,129 households and 1,336 women. More information about this dataset can be found in the corresponding codebook, accessible at https://doi.org/10.34976/b88s-zx32</a

PMA2020 Nigeria (Kaduna, Lagos) Round 1 Service Delivery Point Survey (2014)

    No full text
Nigeria (Kaduna & Lagos) Round 1 Service Delivery Point (SQ) survey used a three-stage cluster design, with urban-rural as strata in Kaduna. A sample of 58 clusters of enumeration areas (EAs) in Kaduna and 37 clusters enumeration areas (EAs) in the urban stratum in Lagos were drawn from the National Population Commission’s master sampling frame along with a list of EAs contiguous to the index EA. The EAs in Nigeria are usually small, with approximately 48 households on average. To create clusters with a minimum of 200 households, each index EA was listed and mapped. If there were fewer than 200 households identified, the next EA in the list of contiguous EAs was listed and mapped in its entirety. If the total number of households was still less than 200, the entirety of the third EA was listed and so on. Each cluster of EAs serves as the primary sampling unit from which 35 households (40 in Lagos) and up to 3 private health facilities were randomly selected. Public facilities were included if a selected EA fell within the catchment area. Private facilities were included if they fell within the boundaries of the EA. The final sample included 135 SDPs in Kaduna and 87 SDPs in Lagos. Data collection was conducted between September and October 2014. More information about this dataset can be found in the corresponding codebook, accessible at https://doi.org/10.34976/vfbp-bz42</a

Nigeria (National) Round 4 Household and Female (HQFQ) survey used a three-stage sampling approach within a sample of seven states - Anambra, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Nasarawa, Rivers, Taraba. One state per zone was selected using probability proportional to size from among each of Nigeria’s six zones. The seventh state (Kaduna) was allocated to the northwest zone. A total of 302 clusters of enumeration areas (EAs) were drawn from the National Population Commission’s master sampling frame. In each cluster of EAs, households and private health facilities were listed and mapped; 35 households (40 in Lagos) were selected per cluster of EAs. Occupants in selected households were enumerated and eligible females of reproductive age (15-49) were contacted and consented for interview. The final sample included 10,063 households and 11,449 females. Data collection was conducted between April and May 2017 in all states. PMA Ethiopia Panel Cohort 1: 6-week Follow-up survey followed women who were enrolled into the Panel Cohort 1 Baseline Survey. Women who were 5-9 weeks postpartum at baseline who consented to the baseline survey, women 0-4 weeks postpartum at baseline who consented to the baseline and consented to follow-up, and women pregnant at baseline who consented to the baseline and consented to follow-up were eligible for the 6-week follow-up survey. Women (n=277) who were 5-9 weeks postpartum at baseline received the 6-week follow-up survey at the same time as their baseline interview, conducted between September and December 2019. Women (n=2,393) 0-4 weeks postpartum or pregnant at baseline received a 6-week follow-up survey approximately 6-week after the delivery between March and September 2020. A total of 2,669 women completed the 6-weeks follow-up survey. More information about this dataset can be found in the corresponding codebook, accessible at https://doi.org/10.34976/zvvy-x402</a

Nigeria (Kaduna & Lagos) Round 2 Service Delivery Point (SQ) survey used a three-stage cluster design, with urban-rural as strata in Kaduna. A sample of 60 clusters of enumeration areas (EAs) in Kaduna and 51 clusters enumeration areas (EAs) in the urban stratum in Lagos were drawn from the National Population Commission’s master sampling frame along with a list of EAs contiguous to the index EA. The EAs in Nigeria are usually small, with approximately 48 households on average. To create clusters with a minimum of 200 households, each index EA was listed and mapped. Public facilities were included if a selected EA fell within the catchment area. Private facilities were included if they fell within the boundaries of the EA. The final sample included 154 SDPs in Kaduna and 123 SDPs in Lagos. Data collection was conducted between August and September 2015. PMA Kenya Phase 3 (KEP3) Household and Female Survey collects national and county level representative data on knowledge, practice, and coverage of family planning services in 103 enumeration areas (EAs) using a multi-stage stratified cluster design with urban-rural strata. The final sample included 9,656 households and 9,489 de facto females who completed the interview for the cross-sectional sample. Data collection was conducted between November and January 2022.Phase 3 panel data collection was conducted among 10,994 females aged 15-49 at the time of the Phase 3 survey who were interviewed at Phase 1 or Phase 2 and consented to follow-up. Among the Phase 3 panel women, 73% of them were enrolled in the panel survey at Phase 1 between November and December 2020 and 27% were enrolled in the panel survey at Phase 2 between November and January 2021. Of the 10,994 eligible respondents, 17.8% were not reached for follow-up at Phase 3. Of those reached, 8,841 (80.4%) completed the Phase 3 survey, for a response rate of 99% among contacted women.
