Noch in steal ûnbekende Midfryske teksten
Since the last edition of, until then, unknown texts in Middle Frisian (2008) a number of new, as yet unknown, texts have surfaced. An edition of these texts is provided here for the first time. The edition principles are the same as in the preceding editions of Middle Frisian texts
Pinksterleven in de prediking van G. Boer (1913-1973)
This article charts the Pentecostal theology of Rev. G. Boer, a household name in the Reformed churches in the Netherlands, and shows that, unlike like his spiritual mentor Rev. I. Kievit, he does not teach “second blessing.” Rather, since Pentecost the church has entered a new dispensation that calls for a spiritual life in the power of the Spirit. After outlining Boer’s theology, this article shows how this theology functions in his sermons to conclude that Christ’s crucifixion and the death of the old man receive greater emphasis than the resurrection of the new man and the filling with the Spirit and that, therefore, Christians ought to earnestly desire at the revelation of this eschatological fullness in Christ, through the Spirit
De schepping, de sabbat, de mens en de herschepping. Leeservaringen bij Hemels groen
This article presents reading experiences and a focused review of the book ‘Heavenly Green’, which aims to shed new light on sustainability as a biblical theme. The review focuses on the groaning of creation by the sin of man, both in the days of Paul and in current times of environmental degradation, the place of the Sabbath and the role of man in creation and in re-creation. It re-emphasises the place of the Sabbath and the priestly order of life in Israel, exemplified by this sanctified day. It critically examines the suggested similarity between the praise of God by creation and by mankind, and the proposed change of stewardship to alliance regarding the role of man in God’s creation. It concludes with giving more focus on the eternal Sabbath in which sin will be endedand creation renewed
Narratives of Homesteading in Times of Crisis: Peasant Economies in the Light of Interwar Polish Diaries
This article presents peasant economic ideologies and conceptions examined in the light of interwar Polish diary competitions. Using the tools of Karen Barber’s anthropology of text, I argue that these accounts, partly in defiance of the policy of the time of portraying peasant helplessness and misery, told the story of peasant traditional economic notions tied simultaneously to modern economic ideologies: agrarianism and the cooperative-promoting popular movement. This intertwining of modern and traditional thinking promoted economic concepts and practices forgotten and overlooked by modernization processes, supported by peasants, but also by a socially engaged intelligentsia of bourgeois or landed gentry origin. Peasant economics and economic concepts often avoided extremes: on the one hand, the economic collectivism promised by communist ideologies, and on the other, the liberal individualism associated with the ideology of capitalist laissez-faire. By practicing economic abruptness, they promoted a set of economic virtues forgotten in time of Polish modernization. The description of the process requires a new vocabulary and new historical-anthropological tools.

The training needs of primary and secondary in-service school teachers engaging in virtual exchange
Advances in educational technology, including videoconferencing, have resulted in a rise in virtual exchange (VE). Researchers have touted the benefits of conducting VEs including developing learners’ intercultural awareness, intercultural competence, and digital skills (O’Dowd, 2018). Few studies have been conducted in secondary and primary school settings, however. To fill this gap, an online questionnaire was administered, and subsequent focus group interviews were conducted with primary and secondary teachers to understand their needs and the challenges which impact their ability to conduct VE projects. The findings of our needs analysis show that the majority of primary teachers reported a lack of technological training, including which tools and/or applications best support VEs, while secondary teachers reported lacking both technological and pedagogical training for VEs, such as how to integrate VE tasks into their curricula. To accommodate these needs and challenges, we advocate for a training space which provides experienced and novice teachers the opportunity to discuss VE in their teaching contexts and training materials to assist in designing, implementing, or adapting VE tasks.
Is There a Spinozist Concept of Recognition?
Among modern pre-Hegelian philosophers, the term recognition does not designate recognition in the Hegelian sense of the value of freedom, but the “gratitude” felt for a gift or service rendered that requires reciprocity. “Recognition” is generally expressed among them by the terms of esteem, honor, approval, consideration, respect, praise, or glorification and under these conditions, there is no phenomenon of arbitrary historical projection when one speaks of recognition in their regard, as has already been shown for a significant number of classical philosophers. In this respect, it is possible to argue that there is a Spinozist concept of recognition which, as with all theorists of recognition, presents an asymmetrical and conflictual aspect, as well as an aspect based on reciprocity. The first stems from an analysis of passive affects carried out in Part Three of the Ethics and is based on the principle of imitatio affectus. The second, instead of primarily valuing free will, emphasizes, in Parts Four and Five, the value of reciprocal self-realization based on shared rational knowledge
\u27Moedige meisjes\u27.
