    This is a dataset for the article "Klimaet i ulike deler av landet og betydningen det har for bosettingen". Abstract: Formålet med denne artikkelen er å kvantifisere hvor stor betydning klimaet kan ha på hvor nordmenn velger å bosette seg. Mer spesifikt fokuserer vi på sammenhengen mellom antall «fine sommerdager» per år og befolkningsutviklingen i norske kommuner mellom 2011 og 2021. En «fin sommerdag» har vi definert som en dag hvor det er minst 20 grader og ikke nedbør. Når vi blant annet kontrollerer for faktorer som antall innbyggere i kommunen, aldersfordelingen på innbyggerne og om kommunen som studeres er en annen enn Oslo eller Ullensaker, viser våre resultater at antall «fine sommerdager» har en positiv og signifikant virkning på kommunenes befolkningsutvikling. Ettersom det er langt færre slike dager i Nord-Norge enn i resten av landet, har vi spesielt sett på klimaets betydning for befolkningsutviklingen i Nord-Norge. Våre resultater antyder at hvis Nord-Norge hadde hatt like mange fine sommerdager som områdene rundt Oslo, kunne befolkningsutviklingen i landsdelen vært mer enn dobbelt så høy som den faktisk var i perioden 2011 til 2021. Dette innebærer at klimaet i Nord-Norge er en viktig årsak til at landsdelen sin andel av Norges befolkning har blitt mindre de siste ti årene

    This repository contains datasets associated with the manuscript titled "Prediction of Causal Genes at GWAS Loci with Pleiotropic Gene Regulatory Effects Using Correlated Instrumental Variable Sets." These datasets serve the purpose of supporting the development and validation of a Multivariable Mendelian Randomization (MVMR) method, a statistical technique using sets of genetic instruments (SNPs) to estimate the direct causal effects of multiple exposures (genes) on Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). The datasets aim to validate the Multivariable Mendelian Randomization (MVMR) method by utilizing summary statistics from Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) on CAD and expression Quantitative Trait Loci (eQTL) analyses for gene expression data. The primary goal is to understand the genetic basis of CAD through pleiotropic gene regulatory effects. All files in this dataset have been generated from the following GWAS summary statistics and gene expression studies.     This dataset contains the empirical data that are analysed and discussed in the doctoral dissertation "Frasar til besvær? Studiar av norm og bruk i norsk fraseologi" [The trouble with phrases: Studies of Norwegian phraseology in norm and usage]. The dataset consists of two collections. The first is a phrase collection which forms the empirical basis for the discussion in chapter 5 of the dissertation, and the second collection is discussed in chapter 6. The dataset has been manually curated. The data in chapter 5 is a collection of 713 phrases and the different forms they are given in different dictionaries. The sources are two printed phraseological collections from 2011 ("Prikken over i-en og andre uttrykk" (Vannebo 2011) and "Ord og uttrykk på fire språk" (Erichsen 2011)) and the online dictionary Islex (islex.no) in 2014. Furthermore it is registered whether, and in what form, the phrases extracted from these sources are included in the online version of Bokmålsordboka and Nynorskordboka (ordbok.uib.no) from 2014. The selection criteria for the first collection are described on pages 203–211 in the dissertation and moreover attached as an appendix below. The data in chapter 6 is a collection of attestations of the phrase "kaste barnet ut med badevatnet" (‘throw out the baby with the bathwater’), with variations, creative modifications and divergent use, in 833 Norwegian texts. There are 460 unique examples in Bokmål and 373 examples in Nynorsk excerpted from 10 different text corpora and other digital text collections in 2015 and 2016. The data were entered in table format (Excel sheet) and ordered with one attestation (one corpus instance) per line. For each attestation (i.e. for each line), attribute values were added in columns to describe and document the attestation further. The collection and methodological considerations of the second collection are described on pages 302–306 in the dissertation. These pages are attached as an appendix below.     This dataset contains the data required to reproduce the analysis and the figures in the paper: Circulating miRNAome of avian influenza-infected ruddy turnstones (Arenaria interpres) (doi: 10.1111/jav.03404). Article abstract: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are highly conserved small noncoding RNAs that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally. Circulating miRNAs - miRNAs that have been released from cells and circulate in the bloodstream - are relatively stable and interesting molecules for wildlife research, where they may form a proxy for gene expression as a function of the animal’s state under a variety of environmental challenges. Aiming at providing initial baseline data on the circulating miRNAome in avian wildlife, we assessed the miRNA profiles of wild ruddy turnstones (Arenaria interpres) on their Australian non-breeding grounds. The ruddy turnstone is a long-distant migrant and a significant reservoir species for low pathogenic avian influenza virus (LPAIV). We therefore investigated both LPAIV-infected and uninfected individuals for their specific miRNA profiles to potentially elucidate the species’ molecular mechanisms underlying its response to LPAIV infection. De novo miRNA characterisation in the ruddy turnstone genome identified 161 conserved and two novel, bird-specific miRNAs, with liver-enriched miRNA-122 being the most abundant. Z chromosome-linked miR-2954-3p was significantly more abundant in serum from males (ZZ) than from females (ZW). Furthermore, we found a sex- and age-associated effect of LPAIV infection on miRNA abundance in serum samples, including one novel miRNA. This circulating miRNA signature may reflect sex- and age-specific differences in the host response, indicating that circulating miRNAs could serve as a valuable non-destructive analytical tool for enhancing our understanding of avian infections in a wildlife context and should be explored further. The data analysis pipeline for processing the sequencing data is contained in the script 01_MicroRNA_Sequencing_Analysis.sh. This script utilizes raw sequencing reads, which have been deposited in the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) under accession numbers ERR10462083-94 (project accession PRJEB47802), as input data. The pipeline includes steps for quality control, adapter trimming, read filtering, de novo microRNA discovery, and differential expression analysis. The script 02_Coding_Article_Figures.sh contains the code used to generate the figures in the article. For mapping and quantification, the file 03_ain_miRNAome.fasta, which contains the mature mioRNA sequences from ruddy turnstones (Arenaria interpres), is required. 04_Fastqc_Sequence_Length_Distribution_Plot.tsv is required to create Figure 2. The file 05_FeatureCounts_output.tsv contains the feature counts used for differential expression analysis. Figure 4, Table 3 and 4 in the article, and Supplemental Information Figure S3 were generated based on the results from this pipeline. The files 06_eff.RTS.csv and 07_mcmc.RTS.csv were used to generate Figure 5, Supplemental Information Figure S4 and Table S8.</p
