Achieving Work-Life Balance Among Millennial And Generation Z Employees: Challenges, Strategies, and Performance Implications
Work-life balance has emerged as a critical concern in contemporary organizational management, particularly as Millennial and Generation Z employees increasingly constitute the dominant workforce demographic globally. Despite widespread recognition of work-life balance, younger workers continue struggling to achieve balance amid economic pressures, digital connectivity demands, and evolving workplace expectations. This research examines work-life balance dynamics among Millennial and Generation Z employees, investigating relationships between organizational support, work-life balance, and multiple performance outcomes, while exploring generational differences in these relationships and identifying specific challenges, strategies, and organizational factors influencing balance. This study employed a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design combining quantitative surveys and qualitative semi-structured interviews. The quantitative phase collected data from 478 employees (289 Millennials, 189 Generation Z) across five Indonesian cities using validated instruments measuring work-life balance, organizational support, job performance, satisfaction, and well-being. Structural equation modeling analyzed relationships and tested mediation effects, while multigroup analysis compared generational differences. The qualitative phase involved 32 in-depth interviews exploring lived experiences, challenges, and coping strategies, analyzed through thematic analysis using NVivo software. Organizational support significantly predicted work-life balance (β=0.61, p<0.001), which positively influenced task performance, contextual performance, job satisfaction, and well-being. Job satisfaction partially mediates work-life balance effects on performance outcomes. Generational differences emerged, with work-life balance more strongly predicting task performance (β=0.38 vs. β=0.22, p=0.032) and well-being (β=0.51 vs. β=0.36, p=0.041) for Generation Z compared to Millennials. Qualitative findings identified five major challenges: excessive workload, digital connectivity demands, financial pressures, organizational inflexibility, and career advancement tensions. Participants employed boundary management, technology limitations, prioritization skills, and social support mobilization as coping strategies. Work-life balance critically shapes performance outcomes among younger employees, with generational distinctiveness requiring nuanced organizational approaches. Organizations must move beyond symbolic policies to authentic cultural transformation supporting work-life balance, particularly addressing Generation Z's heightened needs while maintaining strong organizational support structures benefiting all employees
An Analysis on the Role and Values of Dowry: The Motives Behind Traditional Marriage of Sikka Krowe Ethnic
Dowries often becomes an issue and may all up different perspectives in various cultures.However, it is important to understand that a dowry should be a symbol of consent and not a tool to create tension or reinforce inequality. This research aims to determine the perspective of University of Muhammadiyah Maumere students regarding the role and value of dowry among Sikka Krowe ethnic group. This research focuses on how the students view the role and value of the dowry in maintaining the social traditions and the religious values . This research employs qualitative research design. To find out overall perceptions, interviews was conducted. The informants were students of University of Muhammadiyah Maumere. The results of this research claimed that students' perspective about the role and value of dowry vary. Most respondents considered dowry to have a significant role in shaping their identity and moral values. However, there are differences in the way they implement dowry values in everyday life. Some students emphasized the importance of maintaining dowry traditions and values in all aspects of life, while others felt that some dowry values were becoming less relevant. The suggestion from this research is that it is necessary to integrate the role and values of dowry into the higher education curriculum to strengthen its understanding and implementation and that higher education must pay special attention to training in interpersonal skills and professional ethics based on dowry values. It is important to prepare students not only in terms of technical knowledge and skills, but also in terms of attitudes and behavior that reflect dowry values in their interactions with society
Teacher Readiness for Implementing Sustainable Education: A Comparative Synthesis of Predictive Factors Across Diverse Educational Contexts
Teacher readiness is a critical determinant of effective implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) across global educational systems. This study synthesizes evidence from ten international studies involving more than 7,000 teachers to examine the factors that predict readiness for sustainable education and how these predictors vary across different contexts. Using a systematic semantic search, screening, and structured data extraction process, the review identifies four overarching domains shaping readiness: individual characteristics, knowledge and skills, attitudes and environmental commitment, and institutional and system-level factors. Findings reveal that demographic variables such as age, gender, and teaching experience exert limited influence, while disciplinary background, sustainability knowledge, and technological–pedagogical competence demonstrate stronger predictive power. Notably, self-efficacy and personal engagement in sustainable behaviors emerge as dominant predictors, especially in systems with greater ESD maturity. Institutional conditions—including leadership support, resource availability, school culture, and policy alignment—further moderate the translation of individual readiness into classroom practice. The review highlights significant gaps, particularly the absence of studies comparing high-performing and low-performing systems directly, and the inconsistent provision of discipline-specific professional development. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for a holistic, context-sensitive approach to strengthening teacher readiness as a foundation for advancing sustainable education globally
Reframing Student Mental Health and Well-Being in Post-Pandemic Education: A Global Opinion Grounded in Evidence
The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly reshaped global education systems, not only disrupting learning processes but also intensifying long-standing concerns regarding student mental health and well-being. This article offers an opinion-based scholarly analysis supported by contemporary literature to critically examine the escalating mental health challenges faced by students in the post-pandemic era. Key issues include the surge in anxiety and depression, heightened academic pressure, digital overload, and the growing prevalence of bullying and cyberbullying. Drawing upon global evidence, this paper argues that educational systems have been insufficiently responsive to the psychosocial dimensions of learning, particularly in contexts where stigma and limited institutional support persist. Using a conceptual framework that integrates individual, pedagogical, digital, and systemic factors, this article synthesizes empirical findings and policy discourses to illuminate structural gaps in current educational practices. The results and discussion are organized into three thematic sub-sections addressing post-pandemic mental health trends, digitalization-related stressors, and systemic barriers to student well-being support. The paper concludes by advocating for a paradigm shift toward holistic, inclusive, and culturally responsive mental health strategies within education, emphasizing the urgency of embedding psychosocial well-being as a core educational priority rather than a peripheral concern
A Meta-Analysis of the Impact of the Flipped Classroom Learning Model on Students' Motivation in Physics Education
The Flipped Classroom learning model is an innovative educational approach with the potential to enhance students' learning motivation. This study aims to synthesize research findings on the impact of the Flipped Classroom model on students' motivation. A meta-analysis was conducted using seven research studies, focusing on the educational levels and calculating effect sizes with Microsoft Excel 2010. The results reveal that the highest effect size was observed at the higher education level, while the lowest effect size was also noted in the same category, suggesting variability within this level. Overall, the findings indicate that the Flipped Classroom model positively influences students' learning motivation. Further empirical research is recommended to validate and strengthen the results of this preliminary meta-analysis

Implementasi Projek Penguatan Profil Siswa Pancasila di Sekolah Dasar Menggunakan Kearifan Lokal Kuda Lumping dalam
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui implementasi Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) tema kearifan Kuda Lumping kelas IV sekolah dasar di Purworejo. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif digunakan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sumber data meliputi kepala sekolah, tim fasilitator, guru kelas IV, dan sampel siswa. Data dianalisis melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain P5 sekolah dasar di Purworejo mencakup tiga tahapan utama: (1) Perencanaan: Kepala sekolah membentuk tim fasilitator, mengidentifikasi kesiapan sekolah, menentukan dimensi dan tema, mengalokasikan waktu dalam blok mingguan, serta menyusun modul projek; (2) Pelaksanaan: Mempelajari sejarah dan makna, Diskusi dan kreasi, Kunjungan ke sanggar seni, membuat properti:, dan Pentas seni dan pementasan; (3) Evaluasi: Dilakukan melalui pelaporan hasil berupa rapor projek siswa serta evaluasi kegiatan melalui refleksi dan diskusi dua arah antara guru dan siswa. Dalam aksi nyata P5, orang tua siswa di sekolah dasar negeri di Purworejo berperan aktif dengan menyediakan sumber daya berupa alat dan bahan projek, mendampingi siswa di rumah, serta berpartisipasi aktif dalam pertemuan sekolah. Dapat disimpulkan implementasi P5 tema kearifan lokal Kuda Lumping kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Purworejo dilaksanakan secara sistematis, mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal, serta melibatkan partisipasi aktif orang tua dan seniman lokal
Eksplorasi Peran Penggunaan Gadget dalam Pendidikan Karakter di MIN 7 Bandar Lampung
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi peran penggunaan gadget dalam pembentukan pendidikan karakter peserta didik di MIN 7 Bandar Lampung. Fenomena meningkatnya akses siswa terhadap media sosial dan gim online mendorong perlunya kajian mengenai dampaknya terhadap nilai religius, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 15 siswa kelas IV–VI dan lima guru yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling berdasarkan tingkat keterlibatan dalam program pendidikan karakter. Selain itu, enam dokumen sekolah seperti RPP, laporan kegiatan P5, dan catatan kedisiplinan juga dianalisis untuk memperkuat temuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen, kemudian dianalisis secara tematik dengan bantuan NVivo 14. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gadget berlebihan (3–5 jam/hari) berdampak negatif terhadap konsentrasi belajar, interaksi sosial, dan kecenderungan meniru konten digital yang tidak sesuai norma. Namun, pemanfaatan gadget secara terarah melalui platform edukatif seperti Wordwall dan blended learning terbukti meningkatkan motivasi, kreativitas, dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Peran guru dan orang tua sangat menentukan, khususnya dalam membatasi durasi penggunaan, mengarahkan konten digital yang sesuai, serta membangun kolaborasi melalui media komunikasi daring. Implikasi penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan gadget dalam pendidikan karakter bersifat ambivalen: dapat melemahkan nilai karakter jika tanpa pengawasan, namun dapat menjadi sarana efektif untuk penguatan nilai positif jika diintegrasikan dalam strategi pembelajaran inovatif dan berbasis kolaborasi sekolah-keluarga
Implementasi Model Pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning: Kasus pada Pelajaran Hadis di SD Alam Islami eLKISI Mojokerto
Pendidikan pada anak usia dini diperlukan untuk membentuk akhlak dan karakter Islam yang kuat. Salah satu upaya penting dalam hal ini adalah mengenalkan dan mengajarkan hadis kepada anak-anak. Namun, dalam praktiknya, pembelajaran hadis untuk anak seringkali dihadapkan pada berbagai tantangan. Pengajaran hadis yang telah dilakukan di SD Alam Islami eLKISI perlu dilakukan dengan lebih variatif agar mudah dipahami. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman siswa dengan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning (CTL) terhadap hadis “Anjuran Berkata yang Baik”. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran CTL dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap hadis yang ditandai dengan perubahan sikap dan perilaku siswa menjadi lebih baik. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran CTL dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif dalam pembelajaran Hadis, khususnya materi-materi yang berkaitan dengan pembentukan karakter dan akhlak mulia
Kajian Literatur: Model Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar
Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi adalah pendekatan pengajaran yang menyesuaikan metode dan materi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan unik setiap siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review untuk menganalisis topik ini dengan fokus pada empat komponen utama: isi, proses, produk, dan lingkungan belajar. Dari 17 artikel yang dianalisis, ditemukan bahwa meskipun banyak penelitian mengeksplorasi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, sedikit yang membahas keempat komponen secara mendalam.Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa modifikasi isi kurikulum sesuai dengan gaya belajar siswa dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman mereka. Penggunaan strategi pengajaran yang beragam, penilaian berbasis produk, dan penciptaan linhasilnyagkungan belajar yang mendukung juga penting untuk keberhasilan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi.Temuan ini mengimplikasikan perlunya penguatan pengembangan kurikulum, strategi pengajaran yang beragam, penilaian berbasis produk, dan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mendalami dan mengembangkan strategi pengajaran yang lebih adaptif dan inklusif, dengan harapan dapat membantu siswa mencapai hasil belajar optimal dan mempersiapkan mereka menghadapi tantangan masa depan
