    About Synesthesia as a Way of Perception

    Synesthesia is a complex form of human sensuality. Its most common definition is associated with the concept of “color hearing.” However, today, when synesthesia has become a serious subject of scientific research, many types of this phenomenon have already been identified. Moreover, all researchers note the importance of this ability for a person, in particular, the connection of synesthesia with creative activity, a bright perception of the world. The author presents synesthesia as an object of scientific research. This phenomenon is related to brain activity and sensory features. Synesthesia is considered as an object of research by neuroscientists, people of the art world, and psychiatrists. The topic of synesthesia in childhood is presented separately. How important this is feeling when a child perceives the world that opens up to him as a phenomenon? What it means as a feature of perception for an adult. Can synesthesia be considered another kind of sensory perception of the world? This range of questions is the basis of this article

    Philosophy of Cultural Heritage: Scientific and Public Organizations of the Russian Empire

    Cultural processes of globalisation affect not only the life of an individual, group or professional corporations, but also affect the internal social and economic sphere of any civilization or community, changing even complex and entrenched social institutions. The author considers the philosophical foundations of cultural heritage preservation in the Russian Empire in the first half of the 19th century. The article traces how the scientific and practical activities of Russian statesmen and scientists have shaped programs and institutions for the preservation of cultural heritage. The author concludes that cultural heritage is used to determine the organisation of society. In general, culture, as a factor of social change, preserves both customs, established forms of behaviour regulation, and new but not always dynamic factors and values. The main function of cultural heritage is to maintain national memory and stability in the life of the people

    Role of Colours in Historical Buildings Preservation

     Colour has leading complex role in forming living environment. It brings information on many levels of perception and completes aesthetic value of the objects that surround us. Contemporary researches reveal that colours can be observed as a means to manipulate inhabitants’ thermal, light, acoustical comfort and space configuration and it is a growing tendency in building and urban design. The article studies the role of colour in historic buildings and to what extent it can be altered during the preservation process according to its properties and to society perception. Data from survey upon specific historical buildings conducted by the team is analysed and compared with results from external researches. Aspects of historical building colour are specified and conclusions are made. Practical recommendations are defined

    An Alternative View of the Fateful Periods in Russian Political History

    Russian historical science has developed a certain approach to the interpretation of the most important periods of the formation and development of the Russian state. To a large extent, it relies on such absolute authorities as Karamzin, Klyuchevsky, Solovyov, Rybakov, and Platonov. However, with the development of scientific knowledge, a number of provisions established in Russian political history have been criticized, on the basis of which new hypotheses arise. The article considers various points of view on the fateful periods of Russian history that changed the vector of its development, analyzes the factual evidence base of existing scientific theories and put forward scientific hypotheses. The author concludes that without dismissing these two approaches to understanding the Soviet period, it is necessary to pay attention to the pendulum movement in the political drift of Russia. The analysis of historical material shows that the pendulum movement occupies a significant place in the political drift of Russian society

    Possible and Probable Models of Formation of a Civil Society in Modern Russia

    The author considers three possible and probable models of civil society formation in modern Russia, based on a philosophical understanding of the meaning of these categories. The opportunity is an objective reality of becoming subject, as expressed in the conditions for its occurrence; the probability is a concept describing a quantitative measure of the possibility of occurrence of some event under certain conditions. In article political, economic, administrative, society cultural resources of possible formation of various models of a civil society in modern Russia are analyzed. The author concludes that during the periods when Russia was turning towards civil society, its formation was mainly based on the domestic model. Its distinctive feature is rightly considered to be the construction of civil society ‘from above’ by the state. Their awareness of the need to rely on the capabilities of civil society is the key to the development of the latter

    Creating a Museum Space for the Preservation of Contemporary Art of Fashion on the Example of Italy

    This article is dedicated to fashionable exhibitions and museum-type corporate art institutions, which are one of the characteristic features of the museum system and one of the most successful development strategies. These can be items of decorative and applied art that reject the usual commercial space and want to occupy a place not just in a museum, but definitely exhibit next to artworks. To understand this problem and the stages of the process of establishing and developing a fashion museum, you need to analyze the experience of the world’s leading museums located in the main fashion centres. The purpose of the study was to analyze the status of the Italian Fashion Institute as one of the world’s largest fashion centres. The author concludes that every year there is an increasing interest in studying the history of costume, and there are prerequisites for creating exhibitions and museums dedicated not only to the history of costume but also to modern fashion in general. The example of Italy’s experience, which many people associate with one of the world’s fashion centres, was considered in order to reflect on modern exhibition activities

    Theatre Semiotics in the 21st Century

    The role of the actor has been in continuous change across time. Therefore, the teaching paradigm needs to be transformed to meet the 21st century needs and interests. Theatre is not only an aesthetic tool in contemporary society but also an instrument in transmitting social, political and cultural information. The body of the actor contains within itself a system of verbal and non-verbal communication mechanisms that one must master in order to create dialogue across the globe. The author concludes that in the contemporary world, countless systems of communication are integrated which are subject to interpretation. Spoken language can be interpreted differently by people from different cultural contexts; that is why, through the training proposed in the present research, the actor can communicate and interact freely, without fear of being misunderstood through body language

    Business Process Management of Retail Enterprises Based on the Process-Architectural Approach

    The acute problems faced by domestic retailers today can be considered: functional specialization, selection of unskilled personnel, including top managers who are poorly versed in process management issues, lack of available automated information systems, low level of detail of business processes, poor quality of information management support. The article includes the process-oriented and architectural approaches to management. The term “enterprise architecture” is the essence and the basic methodologies of enterprise architecture construction are considered. The overall architecture of the enterprise is a combination of business environment architecture and IT architecture. The expediency of introduction of process-architectural approach in the management of retail trade enterprises of substantiated and its advantages are identified.     In the traditional applied art of the Olonets province, Republic of Karelia, artistic embroidery is not only one of the most popular types of folk art, the formation and development of which was influenced by ethnic Karelian and Russian culture, but also a significant material and spiritual base, a natural form of transmitting historical and cultural experience to subsequent generations. The article is devoted to regional features of traditional embroidery in the North of Russia. The author analyses various techniques, ornaments, and colours of Karelian embroidery. Describing a kind of embroidery skill, the author believes that the artistic merits of embroidery in the North of Russia is the brightest page in the world history of art. The author concludes that with the advent of new materials, the art of embroidery itself develops and improves, new techniques appear and the possibilities of performing various drawings and ornamental motifs that are inextricably linked with national culture and local traditions expand

    Sense of Art (The Experience of Perceiving a Work of Art)

    The article is devoted to a special human ability, which is called by the author “the sense of art”. This feeling is presented as the ability to perceive art, as a way of aesthetic cognition. It shows how art (in this case—painting) affects the viewer, his feelings. The connection of the sense of art with the individuality of the person, with the traditional folk culture is shown. The author concludes that the perception of art is a spiritual activity of a person. Perceiving its pictorial forms, we include all our senses, but this is only the first stage of aesthetic cognition. The sense of art is deeply individual. The more developed the individuality, the deeper it is. That is when mutual enrichment takes place. Art becomes for a person not only a form of emotional enjoyment, but also a form of cognition. Everyone has their unique knowledge of reality. There is also some disunity, alienation of a person, but art can eliminate this disunity
