Even though ITN reported on both Fernando's arrival at CID and the protesters who protested in front of the CID, demanding his arrest. Meanwhile, Rupavahini only reported one side of the story as it only reported that Fernando arrived at the CID. For a more balanced reportage, Rupavahini could have featured both aspects of the story

    This entry includes 6 write-ups and 6 infographics (both in Sinhala)During the month of September 2022, Mawbima, Dinamina, Aruna, Divaina, Lankadeepa, Ada and Daily News published several articles which contained the following ethical violations: no helpline mentioned, method of suicide reported, including photo of the deceased, giving prominence to the news, Additionally, from January to June of 2021 and January to June of 2022, Divaina, Aruna, Mawbima, Lankadeepa and Dinamina have increasingly committed the ethical violation of not publishing helplines when reporting on suicide. Meanwhile, from January to August 2022, Daily Mirror, Ceylon Today and The Morning showed commendable reporting by publishing helplines when reporting on suicide. In addition to these, Daily Mirror displayed commendable reporting by publishing a helpline when reporting on suicide on 20 September 2022. Moreover, Ethics Eye published an infographic on 30 September 2022, on media ethics that should be followed when reporting on suicide
