ANCOM-BC OF THE METABOLIC PATHWAYS DIFFERENTIALLY ABUNDANT BETWEEN TREATMENTS: SUPPLEMENTARY RESULTS TABLE 2.5.3

Supplementary Table S2.5.3: ANCOM-BC analysis showing the differentially abundant predicted metabolic pathways (MetaCyc) in the amendment layer (1-2 cm beside the amendment) of unplanted soils with deep-banded amendment (DBA) compared to unplanted soils without DBA

Divergent Responses of Insectivorous Bats and Flying Insects to Experimental LED Illumination of Different Spectra

We conducted a field experiment to investigate the effects of short-term nighttime illumination on nocturnal flying insects and insectivorous bats in previously unlit remnant bushland. We compared these organisms’ responses to three types of light-emitting diode (LED) lights, each with a unique spectral composition (cool white (CW) - λP 457 nm, filtered white (FW) - λP 586 nm, and amber (A) - λP 601 nm), as well as a control (C) group without illumination.

Script - alpine warming impacts aquatic ectotherms

This script provides the final analyses for the manuscript "Out of the frying pan into the fire: predicted warming in alpine streams suggests hidden consequences for aquatic ectotherms", by Shackleton et al (2024) published in Global Change Biology and accompanies the dataset "Temperature data for alpine streams script" (https://doi.org/10.26181/24303055.v1).

The Australian Microbiome Initiative for accurate detection and ecological modelling of fungi

This repository contains processed topsoil ITS data from the Australian Microbiome Initiative, covering over 2000 plots in Australia and Antarctica. Our bioinformatic analysis followed a conservative approach and best practices in metabarcoding. We paired this dataset with over 100 predictor variables to fast-track data exploration. The code use to produce this dataset can be found at GitHub.

OER survey questionnaire for students - La Trobe eBureau

This is a questionnaire for surveying students about their experiences and engagement with an open educational resource, Research & Evidence in Practice (published by the La Trobe eBureau).

This tool was developed by Andrew Buldt in collaboration with the La Trobe University Library Community Programs & Engagement Team. It is an adaptation of a survey tool originally created by Brianna Julien and Louise Lexis to collect research data for their La Trobe eBureau open textbook How to do Science.

We are sharing this to the broader Australasian open educational resources (OER) & practices community to encourage adaptations that will enable more research in this area. A collective approach to this can build the foundations of a core set of research questions we can ask when conducting the scholarship of learning & teaching in relation to OER. This will help to avoid reinventing the wheel and assist the community for developing ethics applications to plan research data collection activities for OEP research projects.
