Tuberculosis among ex-service men
Get PDFToday there are approximately 13,000 ex-servicemen in government hospitals, and of this number 5,000 are tuberculous. Because this constitutes the largest number of this type of case ever before handled by government hospitals, the problem of hospitalization and care of these men has been a difficult one. It involves specially equipped hospitals for their care, outside of corporate limits of cities, specially trained staffs of physicians, nurses and hospitalization over long periods of time. I will give a brief resume of the measures and changes which the government has found necessary for hospitalization and care of this type of case from the time of the war up to the present time
Comparative analysis of NLP techniques for automated matching of medical intake forms to the FHIR data schema: embedding similarity and language models

This study evaluated vector embedding search and large language models (LLMs) for automated schema matching between medical intake forms and the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) schema. LLMs outperformed vector embedding search, and smaller LLMs performed comparably to larger models. The highest F1 scores for FHIR resource and element matching ranged from 0.63 to 0.80. Semi-automated solutions may be viable, but FHIR schema complexity remains a major challenge

The awakening interest is evident in most every country. There is but one foundation upon which the nursing of the future, with all its inspiring possibilities, can be safely built. That is in the educated minds and spirits of those whose work it will be. It seems safe to predict that in a few years, there will be a complete reorganization of the present inadequate method of dealing with patients' needs. A reorganization which will attempt to centralize all the nursing force in a community and make for better group understanding
