Literary works created in the digital environment amended many resources, memes and rhetorical figures inherited from analogue literature, in the same way that printed literature did with previous traditions stored in manuscripts, scrolls and even oral literature. Emerging technologies offer possibilities advocated by analogue authors which have now acquired a corporeal nature. After around twenty years of digital literature, we begin the development of working models of operation through established works and authors. throughout this study we will endeavor to unravel the new reality of Digital Literature. Leonardo Flores’s made at ELO 2018 a proposal of three Electronic Literature generations provided with different characteristics. The greater or lesser level of diffusion, as well as the technological tools available to the authors, mark the most important differences between these generations. In this article, we present some examples of the diverse roles that AI offers (tool, coauthor, autor), and we propose this fact could be the prelude to a fourth generatios in the making.Humanidade

Humanidade

Application of S-1 Bifactor Model to Evaluate the Structural Validity of TMMS-24

    Get PDF
Background: Recent studies have shown that the internal structure of TMMS-24 can be conceptualized as a bifactor. However, these studies, based exclusively on the evaluation of the fit of the model, fail to show the existence of a general factor of strong emotional intelligence and have neglected the evaluation of the specific factors of attention, clarity and repair. The main goal of this work is to evaluate the degree of determination and reliability of the specific factors of TMMS-24 using a bifactor S-1 model. (2) Methods: We administered TMMS-24 to a sample of 384 students from middle and high schools (58.1% girls; mean age = 15.5; SD = 1.8). (3) Results: The specific TMMS-24 factors are better determined and present a higher internal consistency than the general factor. Furthermore, the bifactor S-1 model shows the existence of a hierarchical relationship between the attention factor and the clarity and repair factors. The S-1 bifactor model is the only one that was shown to be invariant as a function of the sex of the participants. (4) Conclusions: The S-1 bifactor model has proven to be a promising tool for capturing the structural complexity of TMMS-24. Its application indicates that it is not advisable to use the sum score of the items, since it would be contaminated by the attention factor. In addition, this score would not be invariant either, that is, comparisons by sex would be invalid.Psicología y Ciencias de la Salu

Atmospheric pollution in the ten most populated US cities. Evidence of persistence

    Get PDF
The degree of persistence in daily PM25 and O3 in the ten most populated US cities, namely New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas and San Jose is examined in this work. We employ a methodology based on fractional integration, using the order of integration as a measure of the degree of persistence. Using data for the time period from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020, our results indicate that fractional integration and long memory features are both present in all the examined cases, with the integration order of the series being constrained in the (0, 1) interval. Based on this, the estimation of the coefficients for the time trend produces results which are substantially different from those obtained under the I (0) assumption.Empres

Alcohol use in relation to Internet and mobile phone use, prefrontal symptomology and dispositional mindfulness in university students. This study analyzes the relationship between the type of alcohol use and parameters associated with addictive behaviors, such as abnormal use of the Internet and mobile devices, prefrontal symptoms and dispositional mindfulness in 509 university students from Madrid (Spain). The present study was multivariate, inferential, descriptive and nonexperimental, using discriminant analysis to study the predictive nature of the variables considered in weekend alcohol use, with participants classified into three groups (low, medium and high use). The results indicate that high alcohol use was related to greater Internet and mobile phone use, greater irritability and under executive control, as well as a lower mindfulness level. Longitudinal studies are needed to analyze, among other aspects, the mediating role of dispositional mindfulness in alcohol use, use of technologies and executive functioning.Educació

La promoción de la coexistencia humana. La educación personalizada desde Leonardo Polo

    Get PDF
This article aims to expand the theoretical basis of personalised education with the help of Leonardo Polo’s transcendental anthropology. Specifically, it addresses the difficulty of arranging learning and teaching so that they can be regarded as parts of a strict duality, that is to say, exercises that cannot be done without both elements. This particular mutual reference or intrinsic opening enables personalised educational growth, which is intrinsic or habitual perfecting, thus preventing learning and teaching from becoming disconnected as parallel processes that are only coincidentally related. Personalised education, inspired by Leonardo Polo, is understood as a perfecting in common of educators and learners that each of them achieves in duality with the other. In personalised education, teaching and learning are intersubjective or social manifestations that are peculiar to the essence of each human being, given that teaching and learning happen in living-with others, with the performance of individual tasks in a secondary position.Educació

Promoting healthy eating practices through persuasion processes

    Get PDF
The successful impact of healthy eating campaigns often depends on the extent to which messages are effective in changing attitudes and behaviors over time. The present work proposes that healthy eating campaigns can be designed taking into consideration elaboration and validation processes so that the degree of attitude change is maximally influenced and is consequential. The first set of studies described in this review demonstrates the importance of considering elaboration in determining initial attitudes toward healthy foods as well as the subsequent attitude strength consequences (e.g., stability, prediction of behavior, spreading). The second set of studies focuses on the role of perceived validity of one’s thoughts in the domain of eating as a potential mediator of the persuasion process. These studies include campaigns promoting positive attitudes toward healthy eating (e.g., eating of vegetables and fruits), and interventions oriented to decreasing the intake of unhealthy food (e.g., taxing junk food). We also discuss the role of modality of information presentation (e.g., verbal and visual information vs. direct physical experience) in those studies. Finally, the review offers a tutorial with concrete recommendations that researchers, practitioners and public policy makers can follow in order to predict both short and long-term attitude and behavior changes.Psicología y Ciencias de la Salu

Human life and freedom of conscience. : A view from the case law of the European Court of Human Rigts

    No full text
The individual refusal for religious, moral, or ethical reasons to participate in activities that directly or indirectly, even potentially, could result in the termination of a human life, constitutes the most extreme manifestation of the legal phenomenon of conscientious objection. Although capital punishment has been abolished in the Council of Europe, and the exercise of conscientious objection to military service has been normalized in practically all of its Member states, the ongoing liberalization in several European countries of legislation concerning abortion, euthanasia and assisted suicide, has caused a strong resurgence of the concerns of health professionals regarding the real possibility of protecting their consciences through the recourse to conscientious objection. This article analyzes from a critical perspective the activity of the European Court of Human Rights to this date in human life related cases of conscientious objection and offers a number of final observations projected to possible future conflicts that have not been addressed yet by Strasbourg.Ciencias Jurídica
