Evolution and relevance of research on Environmental, Social, and Governance factors
Full text linkIn the wake of a compelling societal shift and the subsequent widespread response
across multiple industries, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors
have emerged as a pivotal subject in scholarly literature. To gauge the significance
of these contributions and facilitate objective exploration in future research, we
employ bibliometric techniques. Thus, we identify the relevant authors and journals,
and depict the evolution in the themes and pillars of the intellectual framework
underpinning the topic. Our analysis covers 594 articles from 2007 to 2022, divided
into two distinct periods. In the first period, the pillars are centered on contextualiz ing theories, the impact in terms of financial-related performance, and the ethical
implications within the domain of corporate social responsibility. In the subsequent
period, there is a notable progression towards reinforcing theoretical foundations.
The pillars shift towards more practical implications, focusing on challenges associ ated with investing based on ESG criteria, guiding stakeholders in adapting to this
paradigm, and addressing risks tied to its implementation. Financial performance,
disclosure in reporting, and socially responsible investments remain crucial matters,
and the analysis of the environmental issues outnumber social, and governance
ones in both periods. We discuss the potential implications and further lines of

No full textLa Inteligencia Artificial (IA) generativa ha irrumpido con fuerza en nuestras vidas, lo cual plantea una serie de desafíos que deben ser abor-dados desde múltiples perspectivas, pues constituye un cambio de pa-radigma en diversos ámbitos cruciales como el laboral, el educativo o el social. A cualquiera que use la IA generativa en su día a día podría parecerle que lleva con nosotros décadas y, sin embargo, ChatGPT, quizá el mayor exponente de esta revolución, fue publicado el 30 de noviembre de 2022, no hace ni dos años.
Con la llegada de la IA generativa han surgido multitud de debates acerca de las increíbles capacidades de esta nueva tecnología y de cómo tiene el poder de cambiar el mundo tal y como lo conocíamos hasta ahora. Por supuesto, las aplicaciones de esta herramienta se cuentan por millones y pueden tener un impacto muy positivo sobre prácticamente cualquier área que se nos ocurra. Fractional cointegration between energy imports to the EURO area and exchange rates to the US dollar2

Most of the transactions between countries are paid in US dollars even though the United States does not participate in them. Some argue that the euro could become more powerful if it were given more presence in international trade, in particular, in the energy bill of the Eurozone. With the aim of validating that statement, this paper analyses the cointegrating structure between energy imports to the Euro Area from its main partners and those partners’ currency exchange rates to the US dollar. We find that there is a bivariate fractional cointegration relationship between the series in most of the countries considered.Empres
Private and public debt convergence: a fractional cointegration approach
Full text linkSe deposita la versión enviada (preprint) del artículoThe devastating effects of the financial and economic recessions within the last two decades have led researchers to question whether there is a connection between the public and private financial sectors that contributes to the rapid propagation of crisis. We analyze the fractional cointegrating structure between the private and public debt-to-GDP ratios for 17 European countries to examine the relevance of this relationship as an amplification channel of shocks. On the one hand, the univariate fractional integration approach reveals that shocks have permanent effects on financial variables in all the countries considered. On the other hand, we find that the number of countries for which private and public debt are cointegrated increase after the Great Recession.Empres

Full text linkEn 1941 la Compañía de Jesús en España volvió a editar la revista Estrella del Mar, órgano de prensa de las Congregaciones Marianas españolas. Desde 1919, la revista había tenido una trayectoria exitosa. Sin embargo, la postguerra trajo nuevas circunstancias que fue necesario afrontar. El desarrollo de la revista entre 1941 y 1946 puede analizarse, lógicamente, a través de sus mismas páginas. Pero su intrahistoria es necesario documentarla en los informes generados por sus editores y los superiores jesuitas en España.In 1941, the Society of Jesus in Spain resumed the publication of the magazine "Estrella del
Mar," the official press organ of the Spanish Marian Congregations. Since 1919, the magazine
had enjoyed a successful trajectory. However, the post-war period brought new circumstances
that needed to be addressed. The development of the magazine between 1941 and 1946 can be logically analyzed through its own pages. However, its internal history needs to be documented
in the reports generated by its editors and the Jesuit superiors in Spain.Humanidade
La filosofía social de Karol Wojtyła. I. Persona, participación, alienación, relación interpersonal
Full text linkKarol Wojtyła elaboró una filosofía social que se encuentra dispersa en diferentes textos entre los que destacan el capítulo “Participa- ción” de Persona y acción, y el escrito: Persona: sujeto y comunidad. Wojtyła no ofreció, sin embargo, en ningún momento una visión sistemática de su pensamiento, por lo que resulta complejo finar sus posiciones sobre estos temas. El objetivo de este escrito es solventar esa carencia presentando de manera sistemática su filosofía social, posibilitando también de este modo su valoración. Nuestro análisis ha detectado 8 puntos centrales a través de los cuales expondremos su pensamiento: 1) Primacía de la persona; 2) Valor personalista de la acción: participación y alienación; 3) Yo-tú: la dimensión interpersonal de la comunidad; 4) El nosotros: la dimensión social de la co- munidad; 5) Comunidad, sociedad y Communio personarum; 6) La persona en la sociedad: colectivismo, totalitarismo y personalismo; 7) El bien común: la construcción conjunta de la persona y la comunidad; 8) Actitudes ante el bien común. Por la extensión de este trabajo, el escrito se divide en dos artículos. En el primero se presentan los puntos 1 a 3, y, en el segundo, los 5 restantes. El conjunto de la investigación muestra de manera clara la origi- nalidad y potencia de esta reflexión, a pesar de cierta falta de sistematicidad.Karol Wojtyła elaborated a social philosophy that is scatte- red in different texts among which the chapter “Participation” of Person and action stands out, and the writing: Person: subject and community.
Wojtyła did not offer, however, at any time a systematic vision of his thought, so it is difficult to define his positions on these issues. The objecti- ve of this paper is to solve this deficiency by systematically presenting his social philosophy, thus also making it possible to assess him. Our analysis has detected 8 central points through which we will expose his thought:
1) Primacy of the person; 2) Personal value of the action: participation and alienation; 3) I-you: the interpersonal dimension of the communi- ty; 4) The “we”: the social dimension of the community; 5) Community, society and Communio personarum; 6) The person in society: collecti- vism, totalitarianism and personalism; 7) The common good: the joint construction of the person and the community; 8) Attitudes towards the common good. Due to the length of this work, the paper is divided into two articles. In the first, points 1 to 3 are presented, and in the second, the remaining 5. The whole of the research clearly shows the originality and power of his thinking, despite a certain lack of systematicity.Humanidade

Importancia de la Digitalización Docente para una Educación Inclusiva, Crítica y Equitativa
Full text linkEn la sociedad actual, las competencias digitales del profesorado desempeñan un papel fundamental para guiar a los alumnos en la adquisición de habilidades y destrezas, no sólo en el terreno de las nuevas tecnologías, sino como medio para compensar desigualdades y tender hacia una educación más equitativa. La formación del profesorado y el desarrollo profesional específico y continuo son esenciales para mejorar la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las nuevas generaciones, preparándolas para los nuevos escenarios sociales y laborales. Cada vez es mayor la necesidad y el interés por dotar al profesorado de estas competencias, creando marcos y herramientas de diagnóstico que ayuden al docente a autoevaluarse para recibir programas de formación y orientación acordes a sus necesidades.
El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación es conocer, a través de un cuestionario específico basado en la herramienta SELFIE, las competencias digitales de los futuros profesores, y cómo las ponen al servicio de una educación más inclusiva en sus aulas.
Los resultados muestran que las competencias digitales de los futuros profesores no se abordan de forma específica, como tampoco se reflexiona sobre las necesidades y los usos sociales que se hace de la digitalización de la educación. Los estudiantes del máster son conscientes de la importancia de tener los conocimientos necesarios para utilizar estas tecnologías de forma consciente, crítica y democrática en su futura docencia, pero no encuentran la formación adecuada que exige el nuevo paradigma educativo.Educació
Epigenetic, psychological, and EEG changes after a 1-week retreat based on mindfulness and compassion for stress reduction: Study protocol of a cross-over randomized controlled trial
Full text linkIntroduction The main objective of the study will be to evaluate the effects of two widely used standardized mindfulness-based programs [Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT)], on epigenetic, neurobiological, psychological, and physiological variables.
Methods The programs will be offered in an intensive retreat format in a general population sample of healthy volunteer adults. During a 7-day retreat, participants will receive MBSR and CCT in a crossover design where participants complete both programs in random order. After finishing their first 3-day training with one of the two programs, participants will be assigned to the second 3-day training with the second program.
The effects of the MBSR and CCT programs, and their combination, will be measured by epigenetic changes (i.e., DNA methylation biomarkers), neurobiological and psychophysiological measures (i.e., EEG resting state, EKG, respiration patterns, and diurnal cortisol slopes), self-report questionnaires belonging to different psychological domains (i.e., mindfulness, compassion, well-being, distress, and general functioning), and stress tasks (i.e., an Arithmetic Stress Test and the retrieval of negative autobiographical memories). These measures will be collected from both groups on the mornings of day 1 (pre-program), day 4 (after finishing the first program and before beginning the second program), and day 7 (post-second program). We will conduct a 3-month follow-up using only the set of self-report measures.
Discussion This study aims to shed light on the neurobiological and psychological mechanisms linked to meditation and compassion in the general population. The protocol was registered at clinicaltrials.gov (Identifier: NCT05516355; August 23, 2022).Psicología y Ciencias de la Salu
