Get PDFThe paper The Mask as Subject: the Materiality of the Mask, between Form, Use, and Craftsmanship examines the object mask as a subject, utilised in both live performance and traditional European festivals. The analysis focuses on the ergonomics of masks and their relationship to the body, distinguishing between different types of wear and their expressive implications. The article explores the treatment of eye and mouth openings, revealing the technical choices that determine the character’s expression. An analysis of materials and manufacturing methods reveals a dichotomy between the preservation of traditional skills and the pursuit of technical innovation. This material approach to the mask, which extends beyond the conventional symbolic analyses, facilitates an understanding of how communities engage in the negotiation of their relationship with tradition. In this regard, the mask assumes the role of a mediator between permanence and change, between the physical body and its representation
Certain subclass of close-to-convex univalent functions defined with q-derivative operator
Get PDFThe objective of this paper is to introduce a new subclass of strongly close-to-convex functions defined with q-derivative operator and by subordinating to generalized Janowski function. We establish several useful properties such as coefficient estimates, distortion theorem, argument theorem, inclusion relations and radius of convexity for this class. Some relevant connections of the results investigated here with those derived earlier are mentioned.

Get PDFThe first half of the 20th century unfolds, in the arts, not only in music, under the pressure of the paradigm shift that leaves its mark on the entire period preceding the First World War. Anyway, once the seeds of modernity sprout, they do not grow satisfactorily, because they will be interrupted by the Second World War. The ideas of national and universal had been developing since the middle of the Romantic century, when the revolutions around 1848 favored the idea of national freedom and unity. It was then that national cultures were born that tended to value the traditional heritage of each cultural and ethnic space. Serbia has taken advantage of these dominances and has achieved, in its turn, a synthesis between the national and the universal - a fact presented by this work
OVERTURE “SHÉHÉRAZADE” BY MAURICE RAVEL: GENRE AND SEMANTIC PROJECTIONS
Get PDFThe article is devoted to the study of the genre specificity of M. Ravel’s overture de féerie “Shéhérazade” (1898) and the identification of its important semantic aspects. The non-traditional genre definition of the composition as an overture de féerie reveals the composer’s desire to actualize the theatrical context known to the listener (the féerie genre). The composer seems to extend the “exotic” semantic layer, given in the title by the name of the heroine of the Arabian tales “One Thousand and One Nights”, to the “stereophonic” space of the féerie, and the orchestra completely takes over all the functions of creating the physical and metaphysical dimensions of the féerie. The multidimensionality of the national theatrical genre of the féerie is “folded” in the “Shéhérazade” overture into an orchestral space that contains multilevel projections of the unfolding of extra-musical meanings. This is how the connections between the first orchestral composition and the compositions of the following years - “Waltz” (“choreographic poem”) and “Bolero” (“ballet for orchestra”) – are revealed. The unity of plastic and sound gestures, sensual and deeply hidden from thoughts fantasies will remain a distinctive characteristic of Maurice Ravel’s thinking until his last compositions

THE PILGRIM’S PATH: WHO WALKS WHERE AND WHY ON THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO
Get PDFThe examination of why people make journeys to sites of religious significance constitutes a fundamental research question within tourism studies. This inquiry represents a central theoretical concern that intersects multiple disciplinary perspectives, including anthropology, psychology, sociology, and religious studies, necessitating comprehensive analytical frameworks to understand the complex motivational structures underlying contemporary religious travel behavior. The contemporary phenomenon of pilgrimage has undergone a paradigmatic shift from traditional religious frameworks, demonstrating the influence of diverse sociocultural and individual variables. This transformation in pilgrimage conceptualization emerges from several contributing factors: evolving personal value systems and belief structures, technological innovations that improve information accessibility and interpersonal communication, and a growing interest in individualized searches for existential meaning and spiritual connectivity within an increasingly secular societal context. Whereas medieval pilgrimage practices were primarily anchored in religious conviction and penitential purposes, contemporary pilgrimage experiences exhibit significantly greater motivational diversity, reflecting the multifaceted nature of modern human complexity. The main objective of the present exploratory study is to examine factors that influence pilgrims’ choice of route difficulty on Camino de Santiago, using 272 valid responses from 331 collected surveys. Given the limited sample size, the research adopts an exploratory approach to identify preliminary relationships and patterns for future large-scale studies. The analysis employs PLS-SEM and multigroup analysis using SmartPLS 4 software. Given the methodological constraints, the findings should be considered indicative rather than definitive. This research offers both academic and practical value, providing theoretical contributions to pilgrimage studies while providing actionable insights for diverse stakeholders involved in Camino de Santiago route management and pilgrim experience optimization.

A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR ACROSS ENGAGEMENT STAGES IN THE METAVERSE
Get PDFThis study provides a structured literature review of consumer behaviour in the metaverse, exploring motivations for metaverse use, adoption, avatar engagement, virtual goods purchases, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and the impact of brand experiences on real-world product purchase intentions. For this purpose, a systematic review of peer-reviewed articles published over the past two decades was conducted. From an initial pool of 209 articles retrieved from electronic databases, 36 met the inclusion criteria and were thematically analysed. Key trends, knowledge gaps, and future research directions were identified. A novel adaptation of the engagement framework was proposed, categorizing consumer behaviour in the metaverse into three stages: pre-engagement, engagement, and post-engagement. The review reveals that Second Life is the most studied platform, with surveys being the predominant research method. Research has primarily focused on retail, fashion, and tourism, particularly virtual product purchases. Despite providing valuable insights, existing studies reveal substantial research gaps and limited theoretical development. The proposed framework organizes recurring themes and provides a foundation for future research, highlighting the need for empirical evidence to further advance the field. This study is one of the first to systematically review consumer behaviour research in the metaverse and propose a stage-based framework, contributing to theoretical understanding and offering structured directions for future empirical research.

Didaktik and Hermeneutics: On the Ontological Ground of the Art of Teaching and the Philosophical Nature of Didaktik
Get PDFThis paper retraces the history of Didaktik and hermeneutics and argues that these two disciplines, seemingly unrelated at first, are deeply intertwined. The paper shows how Didaktik and hermeneutics first appeared in the 17th century, after a long period of gestation begun in Ancient Greece and carried further in the Middle Ages, as twin disciplines meant to address the basic needs of spiritual life. But it shows, their existence was short-lived, for they will disappear without a trace for more than a century only to be reborn again in the thought of Friedrich Schleiermacher under the impetus of the idea of alterity. This, the paper shows, will determine Schleiermacher to probe into the ontological ground of the act of teaching and will transform Didaktik, when understood in its full breadth, into a philosophical discipline
