Ahora bien, advertir la vida como incierta no es una experiencia novedosa para una buena parte de la población mundial, especialmente para aquellos que viven inmersos en la pobreza extrema y la exclusión social. Tampoco lo es para aquellos que viven en los modos culturales propios de la «Modernidad tardía». Por tanto, debemos examinar las raíces socioculturales en las que se arraiga, se nutre y crece la incertidumbre actual de cara de plantear soluciones viables y sostenibles a la crisis que nos ocupa. Podemos aprender de los pobres a sortear los embates de lo incierto y a generar dinámicas humanizadoras.The COVID-19 pandemic has provoked a widespread sense of uncertainty. However, perceiving life as uncertain is not a novel experience for a large part of the world's population, especially for those living in extreme poverty and social exclusion. Nor is it for those who live in the cultural modes of "late modernity". We must therefore examine the socio-cultural roots in which the current uncertainty is rooted, nurtured and growing in order to propose viable and sustainable solutions to the crisis at hand. Options Trading and the Cost of Debt
Get PDF...Equity option markets can have a dual effect on firms' cost of debt. On one hand, options attract more informed investors that increase price informativeness and reduce information asymmetries in the market, facilitating firm financing. On the other, by attracting more informed investors that provide reassurance regarding managerial career concerns, options can increase the potential for risk shifting in firms. We explore these two channels via different tests on corporate bond yields and use different econometric specifications including quasi-natural experiments to mitigate endogeneity concerns. We find evidence consistent with a preeminence of the risk-shifting channel when private managerial risk-taking incentives are sufficiently high and debtholders are more exposed to expropriation.info:eu-repo/semantics/draf
Mandated disclosure, institutional investors and stock price informativeness: Evidence from a quasi-natural experiment
Get PDF.We investigate the link between mandated disclosure and investor preferences using a regulatory change that required the disclosure of patent applications 18 months after filing. This change allows us to separate the disciplinary effect provided by disclosure from the information effect. Leveraging cross-sectional variation in exposure to the change, we find an increase in institutional ownership in the period prior to the information release, a reduction in blockholders' stakes, and an increase in trading by informed investors. Importantly, stock prices also become more informative. Our evidence implies that governance implications should be a central consideration for disclosure and reporting regulation.info:eu-repo/semantics/draf

El planteamiento general es entender este espacio santo para las tres religiones monoteístas como un Common-Pool Resource rompiendo con la visión tradicional que lo ha considerado como un Public Good, un Private Good o incluso un Club Good. De esta forma, basándonos en una visión neo-institucionalista se planteará la creación de un Common Property Right Regime basado en los ocho principios de Ostrom como solución a este complicado asunto.The main purpose of this article is to study the Old City of Jerusalem in the context of proposing a peaceful solution between Arabs and Israelis. The general approach is to view this land that is holy for three monotheistic religions as a common-pool resource, moving away from the traditional vision that has considered it a public good, a private good or even a club good.
