Este doble propósito se coordina con la ambición general de conocer en profundidad las dinámicas y tendencias que envuelven a este tipo de catástrofes, así como los conflictos y vulnerabilidades que poseen las sociedades contemporáneas para enfrentarse a ellos.The report "Migrations and pandemics. Infectious threats in a globalized world" is the result of a research project, framed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which arises from the need to understand the reciprocal implications between migration processes and pandemic processes. Both the influence of migrants on the emergence and proliferation of pandemic events and the implications of such catastrophes on the lives of these people have been addressed. No full textArtículos en revistasEste trabajo tiene la finalidad de reflexionar sobre los hombres que pagan servicios sexuales en un momento que se reclama su criminalización desde sectores feministas. La reflexión parte de los estudios previos realizados tanto nacionales como internacionales. Se pone de relieve las características, motivaciones, perfiles y demandas de estos hombres. Se señalan los riesgos que la relación de compraventa puede generar especialmente para las mujeres. Se revisan los modelos de intervención llevados a cabo con estos hombres y se proponen intervenciones socioeducativas y sanitarias por ser más efectivas tanto en la disminución de riesgo como en la reducción de la demanda.This work aims to reflect on men who pay for sexual services at a time when there are calls for their criminalization from feminist sectors. The reflection is based on previous studies, both national and international. It highlights the characteristics, motivations, profiles and demands of these men. The risks that the buying and selling relationship can generate especially for women are pointed out. The models of intervention carried out with these men are reviewed and socio-educational and health interventions are proposed as they are more effective in both risk reduction and demand reduction.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Get PDFArtículos en revistasThe study of cognitive change across a life span, both in pathological and healthy samples, has been heavily influenced by developments in cognitive psychology as a theoretical paradigm, neuropsychology and other bio-medical fields; this alongside the increase in new longitudinal and cohort designs, complemented in the last decades by the evaluation of experimental interventions. Here, a review of aging databases was conducted, looking for the most relevant studies carried out on cognitive functioning in healthy older adults. The aim was to review not only longitudinal, crosssectional or cohort studies, but also by intervention program evaluations. The most important studies, searching for long-term patterns of stability and change of cognitive measures across a life span and in old age, have shown a great range of inter-individual variability in cognitive functioning changes attributed to age. Furthermore, intellectual functioning in healthy individuals seems to decline rather late in life, if ever, as shown in longitudinal studies where age-related decline of cognitive functioning occurs later in life than indicated by cross-sectional studies. Association of the use of the mobile phone with physical fitness and academic performance: a cross-sectional study
Get PDFArtículos en revistas.The aim of this study was to analyse the association of the use of the mobile phone with physical fitness (PF) and academic performance in secondary school students and its genderrelated differences. A total of 501 high school students participated in the study (236 girls and 265 boys; 12–18 years). Use of the mobile phone and sample distributions were done with the Mobile- Related Experience Questionnaire (CERM): low use of mobile phone (LMP = 10–15 points), medium use of mobile phone (MMP = 16–23 points) and high use of mobile phone (HMP = 24–40 points). PF via Eurofit test battery and academic performance were recorded, and gender was used as a differentiating factor. The HMP group registered lower values than the LMP group for academic performance (Spanish: 4.78 ± 2.26 vs. 3.90 ± 1.96 points; p = 0.007, Mathematics: 4.91 ± 2.23 vs. 4.00 ± 1.84 points; p = 0.007) and PF (Abdominals: 6.83 ± 2.40 vs. 5.41 ± 2.46 points; p < 0.001, Broad jump: 6.24 ± 3.02 vs. 4.94 ± 2.28 points; p = 0.013). The boy students showed greater values than girl students for PF in the LMP (medicine-ball-throw: 6.34 ± 2.24 vs. 5.28 ± 1.86 points, p = 0.007) and MMP (medicine-ball-throw: 6.49 ± 2.52 vs. 5.02 ± 1.68 points; p < 0.001) groups, but no genderrelated differences were found in the HMP group. In conclusion, high use of the mobile phone was related to worse results in the PF tests and academic performance. Gender-related differences were found for academic performance regardless of the use of the mobile, but for physical fitness no gender differences were found in HMP group.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

luchar contra la pandemia de la COVID-19 cobran una relevancia notable desde el punto de
vista de la protección de los derechos fundamentales de los ciudadanos y del respeto a principios nucleares del Estado de Derecho como es la separación de poderes. El examen de legalidad y de proporcionalidad que los tribunales están obligados a realizar supone una garantía
frente a las tentaciones autoritarias. Quizás por eso, para salvar estos controles jurisdiccionales,
se haya optado por la aplicación de unas herramientas de excepcionalidad constitucional que
minoran los derechos fundamentales de los ciudadanos con un control judicial mucho más
debilitado. ¿Se entiende de qué va este juego?The judicial review of the decisions adopted by the health authorities with the aim of fighting
against the COVID-19 pandemic are of notable importance from the point of view of the protection of the fundamental rights of citizens and respect for the nuclear principles of the State
of Law such as the separation of powers. The legality and proportionality test that the courts are
obliged to carry out is a guarantee against authoritarian temptations. Perhaps that is why, in
order to save these jurisdictional controls, it has been chosen to apply constitutional exception tools
that undermine the fundamental rights of citizens with much more weakened judicial control.
