Determination of changes in sphingolipid content in β-cells and isolated extracellular vesicles after sustained hyperglycemia using ToF-SIMS spectrometry
ToF-SIMS (Time of Flight - Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry) is a nondestructive and direct technique for the analysis of molecules <1000 Da, e.g. lipids. Hyperglycemia (HG) is a state of increased glucose concentration. HG produces metabolic changes in pancreatic β cells, and modulates extracellular vesicles (EVs) release. Here, HG-induced changes in the composition of sphingolipids were analyzed.
Pancreatic β-cells were cultured in normoglycemic, medium hyperglycemia (HG) and HG conditions (5, 11, 25 mM of D-glucose). Low-pressure filtration dialysis and ultracentrifugation were used to separate smal and large EVs. TOF-SIMS equipped with the Bi3+ gun was used.
We compared the levels of sphingolipids. Significant differences in peak intensities characteristic for individual lipids between different populations of EVs and parental cells were revealed. The experiments showed the enrichment of EVs with specific lipids in relation to parental cells

Personality traits and meaning in life among emerging adults: the moderating role of social connectedness and emotion regulation
The dataset is structured for research on emotional and psychological stress, focusing on the relationship between emotional regulation, social interactions, and meaning or purpose in life. It contains 403 entries and 12 variables, which explore various dimensions of individuals' psychological and social experiences.
Purpose: The dataset is to examine emotional well-being, coping mechanisms, and social factors that contribute to stress or emotional regulation.
Nature: The data is mostly numerical (float32), representing scales or scores on psychological constructs. It also contains categorical data (e.g., "gender," "economical_situation," and "romantic_relation"), which indicate demographic or social context.
Scope: This dataset covers various psychological and social dimensions, including emotional regulation (DERS_scale), presence and search for meaning (variables like "Presence" and "Search"), relationship status, and economic conditions. The scope likely targets understanding how stress and coping mechanisms relate to emotional well-being in different social and economic contexts
