Role of gingipains in protection of Porphyromonas gingivalis from macrophage clearence
Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) is a pathogen commonly found in the oral cavity, within the dental plaque biofilm. Along with other pathobionts, Pg plays a key role in periodontitis, a condition where bacterial-driven chronic inflammation leads to the destruction of tooth-supporting structures and eventual tooth loss. From inflamed gums , Pg can enter the bloodstream and has been detected in atherosclerotic plaques. Substantial evidence now links Pg to cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases.
In this study, we used transgenic zebrafish with fluorescently labeled macrophages and neutrophils to investigate how Pg interacts with phagocytes and evades immune surveillance. Our findings show that macrophages are more effective than neutrophils at phagocytosing and killing Pg, both in circulation and within tissues. In addition, Pg-specific proteases called gingipains significantly impaired phagocytosis and bacterial killing within macrophages, reducing bacterial clearance.
This study sheds light on the innate immune response to Pg and identifies gingipains as potential therapeutic targets for mitigating periodontal-related cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases
Source materials for research on the activities of cultural elites in Dubrovnik - correspondence, memories, documents
Zbiór danych obejmuje materiały źródłowe niezbędne do badań nad genezą, rozwojem i formą aktywności elit kulturalnych w XIX-wiecznym Dubrowniku.
The Effects of Parachute Jumps on Cognitive Flexibility and Attention: Experience Outweighs Temperament in Reducing Anxiety - replication data
This dataset is presented in the manuscript entitled “The Effects of Parachute Jumps on Cognitive Flexibility and Attention: Experience Outweighs Temperament in Reducing Anxiety" for consideration in Scientific Reports. Our study explores how parachute jump influence cognitive performance and anxiety, focusing on the moderating effects of temperament traits and the level of experience. The research was conducted under natural conditions during army field training, ensuring ecological validity and relevance to real-world settings
Low-temperature NO conversion with NH3 over cerium-doped MWW derivatives activated with copper species - research data
Data related to the research based on "Low-temperature NO conversion with NH3 over
cerium-doped MWW derivatives activated with copper species".
The results of physicochemical characterization (P-XRD, low-temperature N2-sorption, UV-vis-DR, NH3-TPD, H2-TPR) and catalytic studies in the process of selective catalytic reduction of NO with ammonia
Role of interaction-induced tunneling in the dynamics of polar lattice bosons - replication data
Raw data together with their description. Data necessary to reproduce figures in the article
Study of the effect of modifiers on poly(lactic acid): differential scanning calorimetry
The series of polymers was measured with DSC to determine characteristic thermodynamic parameters. Poly(lactic acid) was modified with four different plasticizers and three different inorganic nucleators. The measurements aimed to select the most suitable samples for further studies with infrared microscopy methods after thermal treatment
Fluorescence images of LDs within isolated murine aorta: the effect of sodium-glucose co-transporter inhibitors - raw data
Raw data of fluorescence images of LDs within murine aorta isolated from male wild type C57BL/6J mice (aged 10–12 weeks; WT) and male SGLT2-KO mice (aged 10-12 weeks)
Marker-independent vibrational spectroscopy imaging recognizes the hypoxia effect in the human brain endothelium - research data
This dataset contains Raman and Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic data acquired from human brain endothelial cells HBEC-5i cultured for 24h under hypoxic (1% O₂) and normoxic conditions. Generated as part of a study investigating the molecular adaptations of cells to hypoxia—a key process in many neurodegenerative diseases—the data provide vibrational spectra capturing the unique molecular fingerprints of proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids at the single-cell level.
The dataset serves as a comprehensive resource for ensuring the reproducibility of the results presented in the associated publication. It includes raw and processed spectroscopic data, detailed analyses, and metadata necessary for recreating the experimental setup and findings. Additionally, the dataset contains resources for generating figures featured in the publication, making it an essential tool for validating findings and performing further analyses. Most data is provided in widely accessible formats, facilitating integration into various analytical workflows and promoting broad usability across disciplines.
This research was funded by the National Science Centre NCN (DEC-2021/41/B/ST4/02000)
