Amino acids and lipids ToF-SIMS Analysis of Urinary Extracellular Vesicles isolated from individuals with Type 1 Diabetes

    No full text
This dataset originates from experiments employing a ToF-SIMS V (ION-TOF GmbH, Münster, Germany) reflectron-type time-of-flight mass spectrometer with a bismuth liquid metal ion gun. Data acquisition involved the use of pulsed 30 keV Bi3+ clusters at an approximate ion current of 0.61 pA as primary ions. Positive secondary ions within the m/z range of 1–900 were collected for individual 150 μm × 150 μm areas. For positive ions, mass spectra underwent internal calibration using the H+, H2+, CH+, CH2+, CH3+, C2H5+, C3H2+, and C3H5+ peaks. Normalization was performed relative to the total detected counts. The Bi3+ primary ion beam was subjected to random rastering across a 128 by 128 pixel region. To neutralize the surface during static analysis, a low-energy electron flood gun was activated, ensuring that each point on the sample surface had a negligible probability of being impacted by more than one primary ion. The total ion doses were maintained below the static limit acquisition, with all surface analyses conducted using an identical dose of 1×1012 ions/cm2. The measurements yielded average intensity values and standard deviations, which were calculated as the initial step
